  • Patent number: 6920602
Abstract: A turbo channel encoding/decoding device for a CDMA communication system. The device segments an input frame into multiple sub frames of an appropriate length when the input data frame is very long, and then encodes and decodes the sub frames. Otherwise, when the input data frames are very short, the device composes input frames into one super frame of an appropriate length and then encodes and decodes the super frame. After frame encoding/decoding, the frames are recomposed into the original input frames.

  • Publication number: 20050120136
Abstract: In a network system including at least one mobility anchor point (MAP) for managing mobility of a mobile node (MN) and a plurality of routers connected to the at least one MAP in a hierarchical structure, the MAP sends a MAP option to at least one router located on a higher level than the MAP. When receiving the MAP option, the router located on the higher level sends an updated MAP option to neighboring routers, after incrementing a predetermined upward value comprised in the MAP option. MAPs distributed in the network system can deliver MAP options regardless of the hierarchical structure of routers, and hence the MN can maximize its location privacy. Because the MAP performs MAP domain announcement using a DOMAIN option, service use of routers outside the MAP domain can be limited, and the number of times that a MAP is changed can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20050105460
Abstract: Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for generating a preamble sequence in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing communication system including a reference base station and a plurality of non-reference base stations and employing m sub-carriers in a frequency domain. A reference preamble sequence having a length equal to n is generated and mapped on a one-to-one basis with n sub-carriers of the m sub-carriers. A final preamble sequence is generated from a base station when the base station is a reference base station, or a phase of the reference preamble sequence is shifted by a predetermined phase in order to generate a phase-shifted final preamble sequence when the base station is a non-reference base station, thereby minimizing interference between neighbor base stations.

  • Publication number: 20050094550
Abstract: A radio communication system divides an entire frequency band into a plurality of subcarrier bands, forms a symbol with signals on the subcarrier bands, forms a frame with a plurality of symbols, transmits a pilot signal within symbols in a predetermined position of the frame, and transmits a data signal within symbols other than the symbols for transmitting the pilot signal. A transmitter allocates subcarriers through which the reference signal is transmitted, wherein the subcarriers are allocated to have an exclusive relation with subcarriers through which reference signals of other transmitters are transmitted, generates the pilot signal, performs an inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT) on the pilot signal by applying an IFFT size which is less than or equal to an IFFT size applied to the data signal, and transmits the IFFT-processed reference signal to a receiver.

  • Publication number: 20040257981
Abstract: A pilot pattern set time interval of an OFDM communication system is divided into a plurality of sub-time intervals. Pilot patterns are generated considering a coherence bandwidth and a coherence time for each of the sub-time intervals, and pilot pattern sets are generated by combining the pilot patterns generated for each sub-time interval. Base stations included in the OFDM communication system are identified with the pilot pattern sets, thereby increasing the number of base stations that can be identified. Therefore, the limited radio resources, i.e., the limited pilot pattern resources, are grouped for efficient utilization, thereby contributing to improvement in system performance.

  • Patent number: 6766146
Abstract: A channel communication device and method for a mobile communication system using transmission antenna diversity. A base station alternatively transmits signals on a common channel via at least two antennas at first and second intervals. A mobile station estimates a time relationship between the alternatively switched common channel and a user channel and measures the power of the received signals corresponding to the first and second intervals. The mobile station selects an antenna having stronger power by comparing the power of the signal corresponding to the first interval with the power of the signal corresponding to the second interval, and informs the base station of the selected antenna. The base station transmits a dedicated channel via the selected antenna.

  • Publication number: 20040002334
Abstract: A method of performing an inter-RAT measurement for a handover from NB-TDD to GSM is provided. A UE, as it moves from an NB-TDD Node B to a GSM cell, receives a measurement control message from the NB-TDD Node B. The UE then measures the strength of a signal received from the GSM cell and verifies its identification for a predetermined measuring time. If the UE successfully verifies the identification of the GSM cell for the measuring time, it reports the signal strength measurement and the verified GSM cell identification to the NB-TDD Node B. If the UE fails to verify the identification of the GSM cell for the measuring time, it reports only the signal strength measurement to the NB-TDD Node B.
