  • Patent number: 11667448
Abstract: A resealable flap device in the form of a sheet, for applying to or incorporating in packaging, comprises: a base layer 30 of flexible material, and an upper layer 40 of stiff material. The sheet is cut (15) through both layers to outline a flap portion 14, the cut leaving an edge in a hinge region 18, the upper layer being removed behind the line of the hinge region 18. In this way the flexible base layer forms a hinge 18 that is easy to handle and does not spring back, while the stiff upper layer maintains the shape of the flap.

  • Publication number: 20230155373
Abstract: Multi-semiconductor SSPCs that solve bus level problems affecting systems as well as controller level problems affecting individual multi-semiconductor SSPCs are disclosed. Bus level and controller level problems adversely affect multi-semiconductor SSPCs and their associated systems. The disclosed multi-semiconductor SSPCs solve both bus level and controller level problems by implementing controlled rate-change of voltage (dv/dt) ramp-on rate, to ensure that the voltage on the input bus does not collapse when a multi-semiconductor SSPC is commanded closed and that a minimum amount of power is being dissipated evenly across the switching semiconductors.

  • Patent number: 11579329
Abstract: Estimating wear on bottom hole assembly (BHA) components utilizes a rock hardness index using analysis of drill cutting. Estimating the amount of wear on borehole assembly components comprises measuring the rock properties in drilled cuttings from a borehole. A hardness value is assigned to each mineral present in the drilled cuttings. A hardness index is calculated for a drilled borehole interval. A wear resistance factor is assigned to each BHA component of the BHA. The wear resistance factor depends on the wear resistance of each BHA component. A wear value for each BHA component is calculated based on the hardness index for the drilled borehole interval, the wear resistance of the BHA component, and drilling parameters.

  • Patent number: 11536361
Abstract: A modular gearbox assembly for a wind turbine having improved up-tower serviceability includes a low-speed gear stage module, a separate, intermediate-speed gear stage module adjacent to the low-speed gear stage module, and a separate high-speed gear stage module adjacent to the intermediate-speed gear stage module. The gearbox assembly also includes a first flange removably connecting the intermediate and high-speed gear stage modules and a second flange removably connecting the intermediate and low-speed gear stage modules. Thus, the low-speed gear stage module converts a low-speed, high torque input from a rotor shaft of the wind turbine to a high-speed, low torque output for a generator of the wind turbine via the intermediate and high-speed gear stage modules. In addition, the first and second flanges allow for easy disassembly of the gear stage modules such that the various stages can be easily repaired, replaced, and/or inspected.
