  • Publication number: 20220116548
Abstract: A virtualized production switcher for media production is provided that includes a script database that stores predefined macros that each define a script for applying media production functions to media content, and a script optimizer that selects a subset of the predefined macros to be presented on a user interface as suggested scripts for each of a plurality of scenes of a media stream. Moreover, a program generator receives a user input via the user interface that selects one of the predefined macros and applies the corresponding script to a selected scene of the media stream for a media production by applying the at least one media production function to the selected scene based on an identified key-frame thereof. A script profiler identifies metadata related to the selected scene and updates the script database to store a correspondence between the selected scene and the selected predefined macro.

  • Publication number: 20220054781
Abstract: A speaking valve for use with a tracheostomy and voice prosthesis having a valve element movable by finger pressure between a first position in which the valve allows air to pass through it and a second position in which the passage of air is substantially resisted or prevented. A biasing element such as foam or a spring is provided to bias the valve element towards the first position when no finger pressure is applied. The valve element is arranged such that expiration through the valve at a rate in excess of predetermined rate causes it to move into a third position in which air resistance through the valve is less than when the valve element is in its first position. This allows for air release if e.g. a user should cough.

  • Publication number: 20220016373
Abstract: A speaking valve for use with a tracheostomy and voice prosthesis, that, in a first configuration, allows inspiration and expiration through the valve; and in a second configuration resists expiration. Increasing the pressure difference across the valve by increasing the rate of expiration to a predetermined threshold causes the valve to transition into the second configuration; and the second configuration the valve continues to resist expiration until a predetermined negative pressure difference across the valve causes it to transition back into the first configuration.

  • Publication number: 20210365247
Abstract: A system and method are provided for generating a factory layout to dynamically optimize a media content production in a real-time environment. The system includes a media production optimizer with a widget controller that provides widgets that represent work packages as micro-services that perform functions of the media content production, respectively. A user interface controller receive inputs from a user interface to dynamically update the factory layout for the media content production. The media production optimizer then recompiles underlying code to update a model of the factory layout in response to the inputs from the operator of the system, and also migrates the updated factory layout to a cloud platform that includes a plurality of media production components including the plurality of micro-services for deployment thereon.

  • Publication number: 20210357257
Abstract: Dynamically allocating workloads to a fixed number of CPU resources within a compute platform. Determining whether a workload should be in a Dedicated Class of workloads and assigned to a dedicated CPU resource or in a Shared Class of workloads that is handled by a set of at least one shared CPU resource, wherein a shared CPU resource may service more than one workload. The determination may be made based on a comparison of a parameter from two samples of a parameter taken at different times. The determination may be made using metadata associated with the workload. The determination may be made repeatedly so that some workloads may change from being in the Dedicated Class to the Shared Class or from the Shared Class to the Dedicated Class. High availability virtual network functions may be handled economically by deeming the failover workloads to be in the Shared Class.

  • Publication number: 20210295306
Abstract: A method of operating a payment-enabled mobile device to gain access to a location or a service. In an embodiment, a contactless front-end (CLF) component of a payment-enabled mobile device sequentially detects short-distance radio signals comprising at least two different polling signals, determines based on the sequence of the at least two different polling signals, that the payment-enabled mobile device is in proximity to a non-retail contactless transaction terminal, and then a payment application running on the payment-enabled mobile device bypasses a customary user verification feature. The process also includes the payment-enabled mobile device running the payment application performing a transaction with the non-retail contactless transaction terminal without invoking the customary user verification feature and then gaining access to at least one of a location or service.
