  • Patent number: 7801992
Abstract: A system for controlling the bandwidth allocated to a network connection between two nodes. The system receives a bandwidth change request, and generates and sends control commands to network switches of the connection in order to satisfy the change request. A bandwidth control interface, available over the Internet, has code for generating a display of bandwidths available for selection; code for receiving a bandwidth selection chosen from the bandwidths; and code for sending the change request to the network to adjust the bandwidth on the basis of the selection. The interface provides a bandwidth dial representation of the bandwidths that can be selected.

  • Publication number: 20100231360
Abstract: A wireless communication device coupled to a wave antenna that provides greater increased durability and impedance matching. The wave antenna is a conductor that is bent in alternating sections to form peaks and valleys. The wireless communication device is coupled to the wave antenna to provide wireless communication with other communication devices, such as an interrogation reader. The wireless communication device and wave antenna may be placed on objects, goods, or other articles of manufacture that are subject to forces such that the wave antenna may be stretched or compressed during the manufacture and/or use of such object, good or article of manufacture. The wave antenna, because of its bent structure, is capable of stretching and compressing more easily than other structures, reducing the wireless communication device's susceptibility to damage or breaks that might render the wireless communication device coupled to the wave antenna unable to properly communicate information wirelessly.

  • Publication number: 20100205478
Abstract: At least one physically inconsistent system resource is identified in response to a failure of an application, where the physically inconsistent system resource was left in a physically inconsistent state as a result of the failure of the application. Available backout operations for any system resources updated by the failed application other than the physically inconsistent system resource are ignored. An automated partial backout of the physically inconsistent system resource is performed. This abstract is not to be considered limiting, since other embodiments may deviate from the features described in this abstract.

  • Publication number: 20100150720
Abstract: A hub (101) for a marine propeller, the hub being formed from first (1012) and second (1011) cooperating sections which, when forming the hub, are aligned along the rotational axis of the hub, wherein the two cooperating sections define a plurality of recesses (1061) into each of which a fin assembly can be inserted, thereby forming a propeller, and wherein of the first and second sections, only the first cooperating section is arranged to be connected, in use, to a drive shaft.

  • Patent number: 7727607
Abstract: A decorative dry paint wall film includes a layer of dry paint, a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer on one side of the dry paint layer, and a release liner in releasable contact with the dry paint layer on a side opposite from the pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA). The release liner has a matte release coat layer that contacts the dry paint layer. The release liner is released from the dry paint layer after the PSA side is attached to a wall. The matte release coat transfers a matte finish to the dry paint layer when the release liner is removed. The wall film includes a barrier layer to protect against significant discoloration of the color in the dry paint layer caused by migration of azo-type pigments from a painted wall surface. The barrier layer in one embodiment comprises a dry emulsion containing ethylene-vinyl alcohol and a dispersed polymeric material which in one embodiment comprises a urethane material.

  • Publication number: 20100126718
Abstract: The invention relates to a cement evaluation method and tool. In particular, the invention relates to a method of producing a wellbore cement bond log for evaluating a condition of cement in cased or lined portions of wellbores, and to a corresponding cement bond logging assembly. In an embodiment of the invention, a method of producing a wellbore cement bond log is disclosed which comprises the steps of running a cement evaluation tool (210) and a wellbore cleaning tool (222) into a wellbore (202); acquiring data relating to at least one property of a cement bond (212) of the wellbore using the cement evaluation tool; and generating a log of the acquired data.

  • Publication number: 20100106188
Abstract: A modular, reduced-pressure, wound-closure system for generating a closing force on a surface wound on a patient includes a sealed contracting member, a plurality of attachment base members, and a plurality of connecting members. The combination of the plurality of attachment base members and plurality of connecting members forms a circumferential wall around the surface wound. The sealed contracting member is operable to be disposed within an interior space defined by the circumferential wall and coupled to at least of portion of the circumferential wall. When reduced pressure is provided to the sealed contracting member, the sealed contracting member contracts and the circumferential wall delivers a closing force. Other systems and methods are presented.
