  • Publication number: 20090056142
Abstract: As shaving system comprises a shaving head structure; a blade frame defining a longitudinal axis; and at least two blades mounted in the blade frame, each having a cutting edge extending parallel to the longitudinal axis. The frame is mounted on said structure for oscillatory motion perpendicular to, or about an axis parallel to, said longitudinal axis; and a drive system coupled to said frame produces said oscillatory motion. The amplitude of said oscillatory motion is chosen to exceed 0.4 mm and the frequency exceeds 80 Hz go give an average cutting speed greater than 400 mm per second. In one embodiment at least one blade faces in each of two opposed shaving directions, and the amplitude of said oscillatory motion exceeds the spacing between the cutting edges of said oppositely facing blades. The spacing is preferably in the range 0.6 to 1.4 mm and said amplitude is preferably in the range 0.4 to 2.0 mm.

  • Patent number: 7479888
Abstract: A label includes a first portion that is printable with optically readable information and a detachable second portion that has an RFID tag that can be encoded with corresponding RFID information. The printable portion and the RFID portion can thus be printed and encoded, respectively, with information for the same container or object. Both portions can then be kept together until the label is ready to be applied. This greatly reduces the chances of applying mismatched optical and RFID labels.

  • Publication number: 20090018917
Abstract: Advertisements are combined with content, such as videos, in accordance with criteria provided by advertisers and content owners. Advertisers upload advertisement(s) for publication with content. Content owners upload content and select advertisers and/or advertisement(s) for sponsorship consideration. Advertisers review the content and decide whether or not to approve the advertisement/content combination. In one embodiment, a fast track pre-approval process may be used by advertisers for selected content owners. Upon approval, advertisement(s) are combined with the content and the combined content is made available for publication to an online audience. A portion of the revenue generated by the publication of the combined content is provided to the content owner. In addition, the size of the portion of revenue may be based on a sponsorship level, or the type of advertisement(s) combined with the content.

  • Patent number: 7464785
Abstract: The invention describes vehicles where the steering effect of the driver-selected wheel angles is made identical to the steering effect of positively and independently driving the driven wheels. A method of compensating for the linear portions of the slip angles of all wheels and the linear portions of the longitudinal slip of the driven wheels is described where the slip angles and longitudinal slips are deduced from the forces acting on the wheels. Methods of measuring the slip angles and longitudinal slips of all wheels by means of two dummy castors are also described. Vehicles where the steering effect of the driver-selected wheel angles is made identical to the steering effect of positively and independently braking all wheels are also described. Means of applying the above principles to vehicles with either hydrostatic or mechanical drives are also described, including simplified vehicles with only two steerable wheels.

  • Publication number: 20080301912
Abstract: An article (10) has a fastener button (12) formed of a one or more layers (26) of relatively stiff material that is secured to the article by one or more lines of stitching (40) passing through the pad and into the article thereby securing the pad to the article and thereby defining a stitched region of the pad and side portions of the pad extending transversely from either side of the stitched region In use, a fastener member (14) having an elongate slot (16b) closed at one end may be placed between the article (10) and the side portions, with at least part of the stitched region in the slot (16b), the stiffness and configuration of the pad and the slot being such that in normal use the pad cannot be bent double and pulled through the slot (16b).

  • Publication number: 20080235937
Abstract: A wireless communication device coupled to a wave antenna that provides greater increased durability and impedance matching. The wave antenna is a conductor that is bent in alternating sections to form peaks and valleys. The wireless communication device is coupled to the wave antenna to provide wireless communication with other communication devices, such as an interrogation reader. The wireless communication device and wave antenna may be placed on objects, goods, or other articles of manufacture that are subject to forces such that the wave antenna may be stretched or compressed during the manufacture and/or use of such object, good or article of manufacture. The wave antenna, because of its bent structure, is capable of stretching and compressing more easily than other structures, reducing the wireless communication device's susceptibility to damage or breaks that might render the wireless communication device coupled to the wave antenna unable to properly communicate information wirelessly.

  • Publication number: 20080243964
Abstract: A method of dynamic allocation of program libraries to an application server is provided. In addition to a static allocation of libraries to the server at initialization time, libraries can be added to or removed from the set available to a server while that server is active. New libraries are created as resource objects specifying a set of locations from which programs can be loaded. Each library is allocated a ranking which the system can use to identify its place in the loader's search order relative to other libraries. New library resources are dynamically installed and added to a list of available libraries, including the system's pre-defined library of locations, in a position in the loader's search order determined in accordance with the allocated ranking.

  • Publication number: 20080189917
Abstract: A webbing fastener (10) has a hook element (12) formed from a woven webbing strap (14) having a proximal end (16) and a distal end (18) that has a hook-like pad (20) formed thereon, and, an aperture element (22) that may be formed by a ‘square ring’ (24) attached by a loop (26) to a second strip of webbing (28). The pad (20) can be formed by coiling the distal end (18) of webbing strap (14) into a flat tight coil and sewing it transversely to form a pair of transverse seams (30) that divide the pad (20) into a proximal end portion (a) and a distal end portion (b). The proximal end portion (a) forms a barb-like hook that can be move away from the distal portion of the webbing strap (14) to engage the proximal periphery of the ring (24) and to retain the hook element (12) within the aperture element (22).

  • Publication number: 20080187596
Abstract: The present invention relates to benefit agent containing delivery particles, compositions comprising said particles, and processes for making and using the aforementioned particles and compositions. When employed in compositions, for example cleaning or fabric care compositions, such particles increase the efficiency of benefit agent delivery, there by allowing reduced amounts of benefit agents to be employed. In addition to allowing the amount of benefit agent to be reduced, such particles allow a broad range of benefit agents to be employed.
