  • Patent number: 11099331
Abstract: An optical adaptor for inspection of a desired surface of an optical ferrule is provided. The optical ferrule is disposed in, and has a first position relative to, a housing of the optical ferrule. The optical adaptor includes a front portion including an open front end for insertion into the housing of the optical ferrule from an open mating end of the housing and for receiving at least a portion of the desired surface of the optical ferrule. The front portion includes a receiving surface for receiving at least a portion of the optical ferrule and causing the optical ferrule to change its position from the first position to a different second position. An image forming surface forms an image of the desired surface of the optical ferrule, thereby allowing a viewing of the optical ferrule from an open rear end of the optical adaptor.

  • Patent number: 11085855
Abstract: A method for performing a laser microdissection for cutting a dissectate from a specimen using a laser includes the step of providing the specimen in a light path of an illumination system. The specimen is illuminated by the illumination system. A detector detects light emanating from the specimen. The light detected by the detector is analyzed. It is determined, based on the analysis of the light detected by the detector, whether a receptacle for collecting the dissectate is disposed in a predetermined collection position, at which the dissectate is to be collected in the receptacle after it is cut from the specimen. Laser cutting of the dissectate from the specimen is initiated based on it having been determined that the receptacle is in the predetermined collection position.

  • Patent number: 11043039
Abstract: A method of aligning reference frames for an augmented reality display is provided. The method comprises receiving three or more target images positioned at predefined physical reference points in a specified physical space, wherein the physical reference points are part of a reference frame of the physical space. Distances between the physical reference points of the target images are calculated and compared with distances between virtual reference points comprising a reference frame of a three-dimensional virtual model to create a number of distance comparisons. The physical reference points are correlated with virtual reference points according to the distance comparisons. The reference frame of the physical space is then aligned with the reference frame of the three-dimensional virtual model according to the correlation of the physical reference points and virtual reference points.
