  • Patent number: 10464519
Abstract: An apparatus for helping to protect an occupant of a vehicle includes a main airbag inflatable to cover a portion of a vehicle and to help provide protection from impacts with the covered portion of the vehicle, and an auxiliary airbag connected to the main airbag, the auxiliary airbag being inflatable to cover portions of the vehicle left uncovered by the main airbag. The auxiliary airbag includes a deployment portion and a restriction panel. The deployment portion is inflatable to extend from the main portion and having a first length. The restriction panel has a second length that is shorter than the first length. The restriction panel overlies the deployment portion and has opposite ends connected to opposite ends of the deployment panel. The deployment portion, when inflated, is configured to tension the restraining panel between the opposite ends of the deployment portion and position the restraining panel for receiving and absorbing impacts.

  • Publication number: 20190327549
Abstract: Generic adjustable in-ear monitors (IEMs) may suffer from a limited range of resilient ear plugs that may not adequately fit each user, and the user may prefer different ear plugs for different purposes (e.g., the user's interest in secure fitment may be higher when exercising, while the user's interest in comfort may be higher when the user is relaxing). The presently disclosed technology is directed to IEMs that permit a user to adjust without removing and replacing an associated ear plug. Instead, the ear plug is adjustable by the user to achieve a desired fit and may be adjusted repeatedly for different desired fits and/or different users.

  • Patent number: 10432560
Abstract: Voice controlled multimedia content creation techniques are discussed in which a multimedia package is created and shared to a specified destination responsive to voice commands. The voice commands can be received by a device as a single stream (e.g., a single phrase) that causes automatic performance of a sharing sequence or as a series of multiple voice commands that are input in response to prompts for voice input as part of the sharing sequence. The voice commands can be recognized and handled by a content creation system of the device to select a clip for tagging of content (such as captured audio or video). The selected clip is then combined with the content to create the multimedia package. Voice commands can also be employed to specify a destination for sharing of the content, such as one or more contacts or a particular sharing site.

  • Patent number: 10421383
Abstract: A vehicle includes a seatback having a rear-mounted and rotationally operable tray table selectively operable between a plurality of rotational positions. An actuator is coupled to the seatback and the tray table, wherein in response to a decelerating impact, the actuator applies a generally downward force that biases the tray table toward a safety position against a back surface of the seatback.

  • Patent number: 10344973
Abstract: An incinerator has a spherical chamber body to define an incineration chamber and includes a port structure with an opening that provides access to the incineration chamber. A hatch is pivotably attached to the port structure to provide access to the opening or to close the opening in the port structure. An incendiary device support member located within the incineration chamber to hold an ignitable incendiary device. A flammable panel member is located within the incineration chamber and positioned over the incendiary device support member. The panel member supports IEDs, explosive devices or biological agents for incineration. When the ignitable incendiary device is ignited, thermal energy is produced to incinerate the IEDs, explosive devices or biological agents positioned on the panel member.

  • Patent number: 10347370
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method of assembling a longitudinal database is provided. The method comprises receiving, using a processor of a data storage unit, medical data streams from a plurality of sources. The medical data streams include patient data related to a plurality of medical events. A first date range that indicates a time span associated with the patient is identified in view of the patient data. The medical events are normalized into a plurality of linking keys based on the first date range. The keys are adapted to longitudinally link each medical event in a sequence of occurrence. Each key of comprises an offset from a start date of the first date range for a corresponding medical event. The medical events are compressed in view of the keys. The compressing generates a location index for each medical event associated with the keys based on a corresponding offset.

  • Patent number: 10322721
Abstract: An adaptive cruise control system for a vehicle may include an access device configured to receive manual input and responsively generate control signals for use in controlling acceleration, braking and steering of a vehicle. The adaptive cruise control system may also include at least one additional device located remote from the access device and configured to receive manual input and responsively generate control signals for use in controlling acceleration, braking and steering of the vehicle. The adaptive cruise control system may further include a controller in communication with the access device and the at least one additional device. The controller may be configured to control acceleration, braking and steering of the vehicle based on the manual input received via the access device and the at least one additional device.

  • Patent number: 10321467
Abstract: A method includes sending, from a base unit, provisioning information to a first device. The provisioning information is associated with the first device establishing a connection with a network device. The method includes identifying a source of interference with the connection. The method also includes sending, to the first device, information indicating an operation state of the source of the interference.

  • Patent number: 10315578
Abstract: A vehicle modular side view mirror assembly is disclosed. The mirror base has a first section capable of attachment to a vehicle and a second section capable of attachment to a mirror head, wherein the second section is movable relative to the first section. The mirror assembly can include a mirror head having a reflective surface and a motor for moving the mirror head relative to a mirror base, the mirror head detachably connectable to the mirror base. Lidar sensors can be mounted in addition to, or in place of, the side view mirrors. Interchangeable modular heads can allow a user to customize the vehicle to have mirror heads, sensors, both, or neither. Mirror bases can move, allowing the mirrors and/or sensors to be positioned at different angles. In some configurations, the position of the sensors can be dynamically adjusted according to the speed and/or direction of the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20190167480
Abstract: The present disclosure discussed a handpiece for trans-canal delivery of a therapeutic substance to the inner ear. The handpiece can be inserted into the middle ear via a surgical tympanotomy approach. The handpiece can enable a controlled injection of a therapeutic substance directly through the round window membrane and into the inner ear. The direct delivery of the therapeutic substance to the inner ear can enable the delivery of a precise amount of therapeutic substance into the inner ear. Because the therapeutic substance is delivery directly to the inner ear the delivery of the therapeutic substance is not subject to limitations on molecule size and inconsistent diffusion rates that are present when therapeutic substances are diffused across the round window membrane.
