  • Publication number: 20090015068
Abstract: Disclosed are a power supplying apparatus and a LCD having the same that reduces manufacturing cost of a large-scale LCD module and enhances power efficiency by integrating an external dc power supply used in a large-scale LCD panel into a LCD panel. A first voltage converter converts an external ac voltage into a first dc voltage, and changes a voltage level of the first dc voltage into a second dc voltage having a higher voltage level than that of the first dc voltage. A second voltage converter converts the second dc voltage into an ac voltage, raises a voltage level of the converted ac voltage, and provides the raised ac voltage to a load. A current detector detects a current flowing through the load, and provides a current detection signal as a feedback signal to the first voltage converter so that the first voltage provide a constant direct current output voltage.

  • Publication number: 20080260628
Abstract: The present invention relates to a Ni-based catalyst for preparing syngas and a tri-reforming reaction of methane using the catalyst, particularly to a Ni-based catalyst, where an active ingredient (a nickel) is impregnated in a zirconia support and the zirconia is doped with a yttrium and a metal selected among a lanthanum and an alkaline earth metal to distort the crystal lattice of the zirconia, to facilitate the transfer of oxygen ion and to increase the storage and supply of oxygen, thus inhibiting the carbon deposition on the active nickel metal and maintaining the activity of the catalyst. Particularly, if the catalyst herein is used for the tri-reforming reaction of methane where a mixture of carbon dioxide, oxygen and steam is used as an oxidant, the molar ratio of hydrogen and carbon monoxide (H2/CO) in the syngas may be selectively controlled.

  • Publication number: 20080158267
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of controlling luminance of a backlight based on a processed image data after receiving information of image data, in order to improve the visibility of moving picture. An inverter according to the present invention includes a first block generating a first luminance control signal with an analog value depending on the luminance control signal with a duty ratio depending on a synchronization signal. The luminance control signals generated by the respective blocks are synthesized luminance control signal. Accordingly, a liquid crystal display employing two backlight control methods can be provided. Thus, it is possible to remove the drag phenomenon of a screen and, at the same time, to improve the visibility for moving picture.

  • Publication number: 20080136344
Abstract: A lamp driving device includes first, second, and third voltage converters. The first voltage converter converts a direct current (DC) power voltage to a first pulse voltage. The second voltage converter converts the DC power voltage to a second pulse voltage. The third voltage converter generates a high alternating current (AC) voltage based on the first and second pulse voltages. The lamp driving device generates the high AC voltage without a transformer, so that a manufacturing cost of a display apparatus adopting the lamp driving device may be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20080112608
Abstract: In a method of detecting defects in patterns and an apparatus for performing the method, a first image of a detection region on a semiconductor substrate may be acquired. A second image may be acquired from the first image by performing a Fourier transform and performing a low pass filtering. The second image may be compared with a reference image so that the defects of the detection region are detected. Existence of the defect of the second image is determined using a relation value between a grey level of each of pixels of the second image and the reference image, respectively. When a defect exists, the horizontal and the vertical positions of the pixel where the relation value is minimum are combined to determine the position of the defect.
