The white rose extract and gartanin derivative compound, according to the present invention, are safe without causing side effects on the skin, prevent melanin production through a mechanism inhibiting tyrosinase activity, thereby having a whitening effect, and exhibit a wrinkle alleviation effect by a mechanism inhibiting MMP-1 activity, and thus the composition, of the present invention, containing the same as active ingredients, can be utilized as a material for functional cosmetics for skin whitening and wrinkle alleviation without causing skin irritation.
