Ultrasound signals having a plurality of codes are transmitted simultaneously by using the orthogonal property of the Golay codes. A superior signal-to-noise rate (SNR) is realized using the Golay codes, without suffering a decrease in the frame rate.

    Abstract: All RF data received by transducers in response to an ultrasonic signal that was transmit-focused on a point along a predetermined scan lines are stored to compute display data for those points of an object that are not necessarily correspond to the pixels of the screen of a display device. For the determination of display data for each pixel point, reflected ultrasonic signals from multiple points around the point of interest are found and used to detect the peak of a waveform constituted by the reflected ultrasonic signals. With this scheme, the distortion due to conventional interpolation used for a limited number of scan lines can be greatly reduced.

    Abstract: A chemical bath of an overflow-type includes an inner bath which includes a plurality of holes on its sidewalls. The holes are formed in such a manner that they are spaced apart from the upper end of the inner bath at a predetermined distance. In this chemical bath, the chemical in the inner bath flows over the upper end of the inner bath into the outer bath and is simultaneously is discharged to the outer bath through the holes. Accordingly, unless either of the opposed sidewalls slopes lower than another by over a predetermined value, the chemical can flow continuously at nearly the same rate at both sidewalls of the inner bath. This reduces the difference of the etching rate between the respective wafers caused by the difference of the position of the wafers immersed in the chemical in the inner bath and leads to an improvement in the reliability of the etching process.

The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus includes a receiving recess so that a patient-use monitor can be connected with and disconnected from a main body. Diagnostic results measured in the main body are displayed on the patient-use monitor including a support shaft which can be inserted into the receiving recess. Thus, the patient can see his or her diagnostic results easily. Since the patient-use monitor is compatible with other types of ultrasonic diagnostic apparatuses having each receiving recess installed in the main body, the patient-use monitor can be used in other types of the ultrasonic diagnostic apparatuses.

    Abstract: A rotary of a head drum assembly for a VCR in which the structure thereof is simple, thereby facilitating the manufacture and assembling thereof. Stator and rotor bodies of the rotary transformer are annular disc-shaped. The stator body has one stator channel formed on its upper surface, and the rotor body also has one rotor channel formed on its lower surface. Two stator coils are wound and attached in the stator channel, and two rotor coils wound and attached in the rotor channel. The rotor coils are electrically connected to two magnetic heads mounted on an upper drum of the head drum assembly, and the stator coils are electrically connected to a video signal processing system. A head switcher is provided so that video signals read by the magnetic heads can be alternately transferred to two preamplifiers of the video signal processing system.
