  • Publication number: 20120056714
Abstract: A system for biometric exclusion of certain individuals from entering a facility. A biometric exclusion system may use biometric acquisition and matching and a database to screen a large population of subjects by looking for individuals enrolled in a database. A screening approach may be used to match biometrics having sufficient quality of any individuals attempting to enter the facility, relative to biometrics of individuals stored in the database. A biometric, such as that of a face or an iris, of an individual may be obtained with the individual's knowledge or cooperation. The database may have biographical information pertinent to an individual having a biometric in the database. There may be an associated system which may be used to enroll individuals by entering their biometrics in the database.

  • Patent number: 8120334
Abstract: A system and method for managing phases in a multiphase switching power supply turns off a phase in light load conditions and turns on a phase in heavier load conditions. The increase or decrease in the number of phases changes the efficiency of the power supply in response to operating conditions. The phases of the power supply may be synchronized and interleaved. Input current or power representing power supply loading provides a criteria for switching phases on or off. The input current can be taken from an input current sense resistor. The input power can be determined based on a control for managing phases. Turning a phase off causes remaining phases to have an increased on-time or gain to smooth the transition between differing numbers of active phases.

  • Patent number: 8107740
Abstract: A method includes receiving one or more query images and identifying multiple features associated with an object or an activity using the one or more query images. The method also includes accessing a sparse representation index using the identified features. The sparse representation index includes a multi-dimensional polytope having multiple vertices, and the features identify a point in the polytope. The method further includes identifying multiple vertices in the sparse representation index that are associated with the identified point and providing one or more images associated with the identified vertices. In addition, the method includes identifying one or more clusters of features associated with the identified vertices and providing one or more additional images associated with the one or more identified clusters. • Patent number: 8103090
Abstract: A video processing system is configured to receive training video samples from a plurality of video sensing devices. The training video samples are sets of pair video samples. These pair video samples can include both substantially similar subject matter and different subject matter. In the first step, there is a patch pool sampled from videos, and the system select patches with more saliency. The saliency is represented by the conditional probability density function of the similar subject and the conditional probability of the different subject. During the testing phase, the system applies the selected patches from the training phase, and returns the matched subjects.

  • Publication number: 20110316430
Abstract: In a first aspect, an LLC resonant converter is provided for driving a plurality of output circuits from a DC input signal. The LLC resonant converter includes: (a) an inverter circuit for converting the DC input signal to a square-wave signal; (b) an inductor network coupled to the inverter circuit; and (c) a plurality of transformers, each transformer including a primary winding and a secondary winding. The primary windings of the transformers are coupled in series, and the series-coupled primary windings are coupled in parallel with the inductor network. The secondary winding of each transformer is coupled to and provides a current to a corresponding one of the output circuits. The secondary winding currents are substantially equal, and power is processed by a single transformer between the DC input signal and each output circuit. Numerous other aspects are also provided.

  • Patent number: 8073196
Abstract: Among other things, methods, systems and computer program products are described for detecting and tracking a moving object in a scene. One or more residual pixels are identified from video data. At least two geometric constraints are applied to the identified one or more residual pixels. A disparity of the one or more residual pixels to the applied at least two geometric constraints is calculated. Based on the detected disparity, the one or more residual pixels are classified as belonging to parallax or independent motion and the parallax classified residual pixels are filtered. Further, a moving object is tracked in the video data. Tracking the object includes representing the detected disparity in probabilistic likelihood models. Tracking the object also includes accumulating the probabilistic likelihood models within a number of frames during the parallax filtering.

  • Patent number: 7925112
Abstract: Video data matching includes both a single region of data and sequences of regions of data. In an embodiment, a video processing system selects, from a first matrix row corresponding to a test appearance model, one or more other appearance models as a function of similarity measures populating the first matrix row. After selection of the one or more other appearance models, the system then selects, from other matrix rows corresponding to the one or more other appearance models selected in the first step, one or more additional appearance models as a function of the similarity measures populating the other matrix rows. The system then ranks the appearance models selected from the first matrix row and the other matrix rows.

  • Patent number: 7898576
Abstract: A seed search of a subset of analytical data corresponding to video objects displayable in a plurality of video frames is carried out to identify video objects that most closely match a selected video object and then complete searches of the analytical data may be carried out so as to identify video objects that most closely match each video object identified during the seed search. The video objects having the greatest number of occurrences of being identified during the complete searches may be displayed by a graphical user interface (GUI). In this way, the GUI may display the video objects in an order based on how closely each video object matches the selected video object and/or a video object identified during the seed search, which may an order different than an order based on a time when each video object was captured.

  • Patent number: 7869231
Abstract: A synchronous rectifier is switched in accordance with a primary switch transition and a reference signal representing current in a current storage device to which the synchronous rectifier is coupled. A current emulator provides a signal representing current in the current storage device as a volt-second product so that current stored in the current storage device while the primary switch is on is discharged by the synchronous rectifier. The use of a current emulator provides an inexpensive solution for controlling synchronous rectifier transitions without resorting to more expensive current sensing solutions that are commercially impracticable. Blanking intervals are provided for avoiding false transitions of the synchronous rectifier when the primary switch turns on and after the synchronous rectifier turns off. The disclosed system and method can be applied to flyback converters for a synchronous rectifier on the secondary side of a transformer, or the inductor of buck converters.
