  • Patent number: 6190546
Abstract: An oil suction filter having an enclosed housing with a base surface and an oil intake opening, a top surface with an oil discharge opening, and a filter usually in the form of a filter cloth in the housing between the intake opening and the outlet. In one form, an oil diverting device at least partially surrounds the oil intake opening. In another form, an oil flow diverting device is provided at either or both of the oil intake opening and the oil outlet. In another form, an oil filter cloth has various densities, thicknesses or layers that control the flow. All the foregoing is for the purpose of minimizing formation of large air bubbles passing through the suction filter. Further, beads in the housing may keep the filter cloth off the base surface.

  • Patent number: 6164928
Abstract: A pump for supplying fluid, in particular hydraulic oil, comprises a drive shaft extending into the interior of the pump housing and the shaft is mounted on at least one bearing device lubricated by a partial flow of the fluid supplied. A sealing device seals the radial gap between the housing of the pump and the drive shaft. The sealing device comprises a sealing ring of substantially U-shape cross-section. One arm of the U forms a first sealing portion resting against the drive shaft under pre-stress. The other arm of the U forms a second sealing portion resting under pre-stress against a sealing face of the housing surrounding the drive shaft. The sealing ring has a sealing area connecting the first and second sealing portions and forming the base of the U and facing the interior of the pump so that the first and second sealing portions extend from the sealing area in a direction away from the interior of the pump.

  • Patent number: 6152716
Abstract: The invention relates to a vane pump with a rotor which receives vanes, with two pressure plates (17) which bear sealingly on the rotor and of which one is arranged on a delivery side of the vane pump and one on the opposite side, and with a contour ring surrounding the vanes and forming two suction and discharge regions, at least one of the two pressure plates being provided with inlet and outlet orifices (53, 59, 63a, b) which make a fluid connection between a discharge region and an undervane region. The invention is distinguished in that the pressure plate (17.2) located opposite the delivery side has an orifice, which makes a fluid connection between a discharge region and a pressure space (61) partially delimited by this pressure plate (17.2), and seals off the pressure space (61) relative to the other discharge region.

  • Patent number: 6116391
Abstract: The friction clutch between the engine and an automated transmission in the power train of a motor vehicle are operated and controlled by an actuator which effects changes in the extent of engagement of the clutch as well as the selection of and shifting into particular gears. The actuator forms part of a unit which receives a pressurized hydraulic fluid from a source including an accumulator and a proportional valve which latter selects the fluid pressure necessary to shift the transmission into a selected gear.

  • Patent number: 6039326
Abstract: The invention proposes a device for reducing the rolling tendency of a motor vehicle with at least one axle that carries at least two wheels, wherein said axle is provided with a roll stabilizer that includes two stabilizer sections which can be turned relative to one another with the aid of a hydraulic device controlled by an electronic control device, with at least one pump that supplies the hydraulic device, and with a valve unit that cooperates with the hydraulic device and influences the turning direction as well as the coupling of the stabilizer sections. The valve unit contains a changeover valve and a safety valve that can be activated independently of the changeover valve.

  • Patent number: 5975868
Abstract: A vane pump includes a rotatable rotor in a housing. The rotor has radial slots and radially movable vanes in the slots engage a contour ring that extends around the rotor and defines the bore. End faces of the bore having sealing surfaces closing the bore. One sealing surface has intake and delivery openings which are assigned to intake and discharge regions around the bore. Each region is located between two adjacent vanes as the vanes rotate through the regions. The contour ring surrounds the vanes and is shaped for forming an enlarging intake region, a following, decreasing precompression region and a later following, decreasing discharge region. The intake and discharge regions are connected with the intake and delivery openings, respectively. The precompression region volume changes so that the kinematic precompression is in a delivery cell between two vanes at that region is greater than a desired precompression.

  • Patent number: 5807090
Abstract: A pump, particularly a vane or roller pump, with at least two pump segments, each having a suction region and a pressure region, with a first fluid path leading from the pressure side to a consumer, and with at least one hydraulic resistance element, which is arranged in the first fluid path to the consumer, is proposed. The pump is characterized in that the hydraulic resistance element is arranged in a second fluid path connecting the pressure regions of the at least two pump segments.

  • Patent number: 5725447
Abstract: A torque transmitting power train for use in a motor vehicle employs a transmission with two adjustable pulleys and an endless flexible element trained over the pulleys. The pulleys are adjustable by a torque sensor and primary hydraulic adjusting units in dependency upon the magnitude of transmitted torque, as well as by an adjustable selecting valve and secondary hydraulic adjusting units in dependency upon the desired or required transmission ratio. The primary and secondary adjusting units can receive a pressurized hydraulic fluid from a common source.
