Abstract: Disclosed is a system including a circuit board and several pluggable modules coupled to the circuit board. The several pluggable modules are insertable through side-by-side slots in an enclosure in which the circuit board resides. A first pluggable module is coupled to the circuit board via a first connector, while a second pluggable module is coupled to the circuit board via a second connector such that the second pluggable module is laterally offset from the first pluggable module. The first and second connectors are right angle connectors, and the second right angle connector is inverted relative to the first right angle connector. The first and second pluggable modules are I/O modules for transporting high speed differential signals, and wherein the first pluggable module includes several XFP connectors, and wherein the second pluggable module includes several SFP connectors. The second pluggable module includes several SFP connectors arranged on both sides of the pluggable module.

  • Publication number: 20040197596
Abstract: A parallel passage contactor structure which advantageously does not require a spacing member is provided according to the present invention. In an embodiment of the present invention a parallel passage contactor is provided comprising multiple layers of sheet material wherein the sheet material is perforated with a regular pattern of openings. The perforated openings in the sheet material comprising the layers of the contactor structure are arranged such that when multiple similarly perforated layers of material are suitably layered in contact with each other the perforated openings in adjacent layers form substantially continuous parallel passages suitable for the conduction of fluids.

  • Publication number: 20040185179
Abstract: A wire guide includes a mandrel that has a proximal portion and a distal portion. A first coating with a low coefficient of friction is disposed on the proximal portion of the mandrel. A second coating is disposed on the distal portion of the mandrel, where the second coating provides a sub-structure. A third coating is disposed on the second coating, where the third coating comprises a surface that allows for easy maneuverability of the wire guide. The first coating on the proximal portion provides enough lubricity to keep the wire guide from becoming bound or stuck in a catheter or medical device while still allowing a user to have a good grip of the wire guide. The second coating on the distal portion provides lubricity for the wire guide, which allows the user to easily maneuver the wire guide through a vascular anatomy.

  • Publication number: 20040035558
Abstract: A heat transfer device such as a heat sink has one or more heat pipe tubes mounted in a base plate. The heat pipe tubes have a working fluid in a vessel with a wicking material between an evaporator and condenser. The heat pipe traverses a through opening in the base plate and extends along a receptacle in the base plate facing the heat source, this portion preferably defining the heat pipe evaporator. The heat pipe has legs extending perpendicularly from the base plate, and preferably hold spaced heat transfer fins, the legs forming the condenser part of a stacked tower of fins on the base plate. Preferably two or more heat pipes are provided in the form of U-shaped or L-shaped tubes that are flattened along the underside of the base plate to bear against the heat source.

  • Patent number: 6641637
Abstract: An open flow fluid filter has a pleated main filter element having a plurality of pleats in a closed loop having an outer perimeter defined by a plurality of outer pleat tips, and an inner perimeter defined by a plurality of inner pleat tips. The loop has a hollow interior extending along an axis. Fluid to be filtered flows through the main filter element from an upstream dirty side to a downstream clean side, and flows axially in the hollow interior. The main filter element has an axial flow passage extending along the axis and circumscribing the hollow interior and has a flow perimeter greater than the inner perimeter. A safety filter element downstream of the main filter element filters both the axial flow in the hollow interior and additional flow between the flow perimeter and the inner perimeter. A filter with additional flow is also provided.

  • Patent number: 6569219
Abstract: An air filter element has a cylindrical filter media sleeve axially slidable along and around an inner liner from either axial end of the sleeve. First and second end caps at distally opposite axial ends of the liner and sleeve each have a central aperture, the aperture in the first end cap providing air flow therethrough in communication with the hollow interior of the liner, the aperture in the second end cap retaining a closing cover. The cylindrical filter media sleeve extends axially along the inner liner and is axially retained between the cover and the first end cap. The cover is removably mounted to the second end cap in snap-in relation and axially retains the sleeve on the inner liner.
