  • Publication number: 20240149037
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to a stabilization device (100) configured to engage a subcutaneous medical device, or port (40). The device can include a guide cylinder (120) that aligns with a receiving cup (46) of the port when the port is engaged with a bottom surface (116) of the stabilization device. The guide cylinder can be rotatable between a first position and a second position. The guide cylinder can further include a needle channel (122) extending therethrough. An axis of the needle channel can be offset from the central axis of the guide cylinder. As such rotating the guide cylinder between the first position and the second position can align the needle channel with a different insertion site. The needle channel can align with the receiving cup of the port in both the first position and the second position. Accessing the receiving cup through different insertion sites can mitigate the formation of scar tissue.

  • Publication number: 20240148949
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to an access system including a flexible needle configured to negotiate a non-linear pathway to access a subcutaneous port. Optionally, the access system can include a needle guide to facilitate alignment of the needle with the subcutaneous port. The needle can be configured to be flexible enough to have some bending, or deflection capability but also possess sufficient columnar strength to prevent buckling when piercing the skin and entering the port. The flexible needle can be deflected from a central axis to overcome any misalignment with the receiving cup and/or conduit of the port. Once within the port conduit the needle can negotiate the non-linear, or tortuous port conduit pathway, and stream-line the insertion procedure.

  • Patent number: 11972462
Abstract: A system includes a computing device comprising a memory storing instructions configured to cause a processor to receive: purchase data associated with products purchased by a user, online activity data performed by the user and other users and associated with information pertaining to the products, and vendor information comprising retail sales data, after-market sales data, and product availability associated with the products. The processor determines one or more values of the products based on the purchase data, the online activity data, and the vendor information and whether the purchased products correspond to specialty products based on the purchase data, the online activity data, and the values of the products. The processor may then send a notification to the user comprising an offer for insurance for the products in response to determining the products correspond to specialty products.

  • Publication number: 20240111578
Abstract: A method for hierarchical work scheduling includes consuming a work item at a first scheduling domain having a local scheduler circuit and one or more workgroup processing elements. Consuming the work item produces a set of new work items. Subsequently, the local scheduler circuit distributes at least one new work item of the set of new work items to be executed locally at the first scheduling domain. If the local scheduler circuit of the first scheduling domain determines that the set of new work items includes one or more work items that would overload the first scheduling domain with work if scheduled for local execution, those work items are distributed to the next higher-level scheduler circuit in a scheduling domain hierarchy for redistribution to one or more other scheduling domains.

  • Patent number: 11946702
Abstract: A nuclear reactor includes a heat exchanger that transfers thermal energy from a primary reactor coolant to a secondary coolant. The heat exchanger is formed with a hot flow channel, a cold flow channel, and a porous layer between the hot flow channel and the cold flow channel. The porous layer may be thermally insulative to reduce the efficiency of thermal energy transfer from the hot flow channel to the cold flow channel. The porous layer may have a control gas passed therethrough that can be tailored to control the thermal energy transfer through the porous layer. The control gas can be tested for leakage within the heat exchanger. The control gas may also be used to sequester fission or activation products.
