  • Patent number: 9921905
Abstract: In response to failure of an application that initiated updates to a group of operational system resources without the updates being successfully committed, for each physically inconsistent operational system resource that was left in a non-fully functional data indexing and access state as a result of the failure of the application, a portion of available pending updates are performed to change the respective physically inconsistent operational system resource to a partially backed out operational system resource with a fully functional data indexing and access state. Remaining available pending updates are ignored for the respective partially backed out operational system resource after the respective fully functional data indexing and access state is achieved to expedite system restart.

  • Publication number: 20180064872
Abstract: Devices, systems, and techniques for programming drug delivery are described. Such techniques may account for diffusion and mixing of drug within the fluid or allow for more flexible programming options. In one example, a method may include determining one or more fluid delivery parameters (e.g., volume, flow rate, or period of time) for a fluid that is a mixture of two other fluids. The determination may be based on one or more fluid delivery parameters of the two other fluids and/or a concentration profile representing the mixing between the two other fluids. In other examples, drug delivery programming may be facilitated by the selection of various patterns and steps of drug delivery. The system may track volume of delivered fluid to maintain desired dosing of the patient.

  • Patent number: 9895739
Abstract: An apparatus is provided which makes a border wire having a rectangular cross-section. The apparatus is adapted to receive a roll of wire having a circular cross-section, straighten the wire and change the cross-section of the wire to rectangular. The reconfigured wire is then accumulated, passed through another straightener, cut to size and then bent into a rectangular configuration. Opposed ends of the piece of wire having a rectangular cross-section are welded together to complete the border wire. The apparatus has an ejector which removes the completed border wire from the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 9892152
Abstract: A portion of a transaction is received at a distributed transaction system from an initiator region. The distributed transaction system operates under a multi-tier two-phase commit protocol. A local unit of work is established that represents the portion of the transaction received from the initiator region. Processing of the local unit of work is invoked with at least one transaction participant. An indication is received from the initiator region to assume a role of transaction coordinator for the transaction. The initiator region is instructed to commit last relative to the at least one transaction participant of the local unit of work.

  • Patent number: 9891599
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure provide proportional integral derivative control (PID) using multiple actuators. In one embodiment, a process includes providing a PID controller in communication with a primary actuator and a secondary actuator, the primary actuator and the secondary actuator coupled to a handler, such as a robotic arm for manipulating an object. The process further includes receiving position feedback and a specified trajectory for the handler, and generating a dynamic feedforward force command and a position correction command for the handler based on the position feedback and the specified trajectory. The process further includes providing, from the PID controller, the dynamic feedforward force command to the secondary actuator and the position correction command to the primary actuator.

  • Publication number: 20180037364
Abstract: A pivoting flexible cover unit is provided for a spill containment pallet. The unit has a pair of pivot supports for attachment to side walls of the pallet and pivot means on each. A plurality of telescoping support bars extend from the pivot means across the spill containment pallet. At least one spacing strap is secured to each of the support bars to maintain a spacing for the support bars, with one end of the strap secured to a first support bar and the other end secured to a last support bar. A flexible cover, supported by the plurality of support bars, is attached to the first support bar and the last support bar. The flexible cover covers any drums placed on the grate when the support bars are in a covering-arrangement, and access to any drums on the grate is provided from the rear or front of the pallet, when in an open-arrangement.

  • Publication number: 20180040160
Abstract: Embodiments can provide adaptive image filtering. Under this approach, image quality can be enhanced by adjusting an approximation function to better adapt image signals in different parts of an image. Certain parts of the image may be enhanced using a certain approximation function while some other parts of the image may be enhanced using a different approximation function. In certain embodiments, the approximation function selected for a part of the image can be a polynomial function having a specific order. The specific polynomial order can be applied directly to obtain an estimated image value of the part of the image. In certain embodiments, the estimation of the reconstruction error can include iteratively estimating a bias term of the reconstruction error and a variance term of the reconstruction error.
