  • Patent number: 10282882
Abstract: Techniques for simulating interactions using an augmented reality device. A visual scene is captured using a camera device. The visual scene depicts of a first physical object within a physical environment. A dynamic interaction is simulated between the first physical object and one or more virtual objects and velocity of a first virtual object resulting from the simulated dynamic interaction is calculated. A predefined behavior for a virtual character to perform is selected in response to the dynamic interaction. The virtual character is distinct from the first virtual object, and the selection is based on the calculated velocity. A sequence of frames is rendered. The sequence of frames depicts the dynamic interaction between the first physical object and the virtual objects, and further depicts a representation of the virtual character performing the determined behavior. The sequence of frames is output for display using one or more display devices.

  • Publication number: 20190096028
Abstract: A system for performing memory allocation for seamless media content presentation includes a computing platform having a CPU, a GPU having a GPU memory, and a main memory storing a memory allocation software code. The CPU executes the memory allocation software code to transfer a first dataset of media content to the GPU memory, seamlessly present the media content to a system user, register a location of the system user during the seamless presentation of the media content, and register a timecode status of the media content at the location. The CPU further executes the memory allocation software code to identify a second dataset of the media content based on the location and the timecode status, transfer a first differential dataset to the GPU memory, continue to seamlessly present the media content to the system user, and transfer a second differential dataset out of the GPU memory.

  • Publication number: 20190027886
Abstract: A method and an apparatus relate to the insertion of one or more wires into a cavity of a fixture of a structure or component. The wire insertion apparatus includes a grommet, a gripper adapted to interface with the grommet, and at least a first vibrating element. The first vibrating element is connected to and vibrates one or more of the apparatus, the grommet, the gripper, the wire, and/or a component of the apparatus. Vibration, induced in any direction, enables the cavities to shift position during insertion relative to the contact, thus increasing the tolerance of the cavity, reducing the failure rate of wire insertion, and reducing total production time. The vibration breaks the static friction of the contact in the grommet or dielectric opening, creates the positive locating required to insert the contact in the grommet and/or dielectric, and/or pivots the contact.

  • Publication number: 20180365133
Abstract: A system for testing a network-based application has a continuous integration (CI) service that performs CI testing of a server application that is being developed to support a client application, such as a client application that will be used on a wireless communication device. The CI service detects server source code changes and in response rebuilds the server application and deploys it to a test server. In addition, the client application is installed and executed on one or more wireless communication devices, so that the client application communicates with the test server using a wireless communications network. Tests of the client application are performed as it executes on the devices, and results are reported to the CI service. The CI service reports any errors that occurred during testing of either the server application or the client application.
