  • Patent number: 7808630
Abstract: An inspection apparatus and inspection method for liquid crystal display devices are disclosed, wherein a final inspection for completely manufactured liquid crystal display devices is performed using a visual-light inspection apparatus, whereby high productivity due to improved inspection accuracy and reduced inspection time can be accomplished. With the inspection apparatus and inspection method, defects of a plurality of glass panels can be automatically inspected based on analyzed information of an entire screen of each glass panel using a plurality of vision cameras, whereby improved inspection accuracy and improved product quality can be accomplished and reduced inspection time can result in improved productivity of liquid crystal display devices. Further, by quantifying screen defects of the plurality of glass panels, defects of glass panels due to failures of manufacturing processes or design failures and other problems attendant on the defects can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 7719620
Abstract: A heat curing device includes supports positioned in a chamber to support a substrate, the supports having sections, and protrusion structures formed on the sections of the supports to contact a dummy area of the substrate, wherein the supports may be rotated with respect to a horizontal axis. The sections of the supports may have a polygonal structure with the protrusion structures are formed on the polygonal sections of the supports, so that a plurality of protrusion structure patterns can be formed on one support. Since the supports are rotatable, the protrusion structure patterns supporting a substrate may be readily changed.

  • Patent number: 7602469
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device includes preparing a lower substrate and an upper substrate; depositing a sealant on one of the two substrates; dropping a liquid crystal on one of the two substrates; bonding the two substrates to each other; bonding the two substrates to each other by hardening the sealant; and thermal quenching the two bonded substrates. Since thermal quenching of the two bonded substrates is additionally performed after hardening of the sealant is performed using a liquid crystal dropping method, orientation of a liquid crystal layer, which is scattered by the hardening of the sealant, is returned to its original state, thus preventing domain defects.
