Abstract: The present invention discloses an encoding apparatus using a Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) scanning, which includes a mode selection means for selecting an optimal mode for intra prediction; an intra prediction means for performing intra prediction onto video inputted based on the mode selected in the mode selection means; a DCT and quantization means for performing DCT and quantization onto residual coefficients of a block outputted from the intra prediction means; and an entropy encoding means for performing entropy encoding onto DCT coefficients acquired from the DCT and quantization by using a scanning mode decided based on pixel similarity of the residual coefficients.

Abstract: A method and system for managing profiles is provided. The method includes maintaining Profile Information of one or more service recipients in a Profile Registrar XDMS. The method also includes identifying an Active Profile of a user from a Profile Registrar document in response to an input indicative of communication request for an address of record of the user. Further, the method includes obtaining user preferences associated with the Active Profile and applying the user preferences to the communication request or the service provisioning to the user. The system includes an extensible markup language data management server, a communication interface in electronic communication with a network to send and receive signals, and a processor.

Abstract: A method for requesting presence information from a presence source by a presence server is provided. The method includes transmitting a message requesting specific presence information to the presence source; and receiving, from the presence source, the specific presence information published by the presence source.

Abstract: Disclosed are a system and a method for implementing an XDM forward function described in [XDM2_RD] and [XDM2 AD]. The method includes the steps of: transmitting, by the XDM forward requesting user a forward request message for forwarding a desired XML document to the XDMS; receiving, by the XDMS the forward request message, determining if the XDM forward requesting user has been granted a forward authority for a forward-requested target XML document forwarding the requested XML document to the XDM forward receiving user when the XDM forward requesting user has been granted an authority to forward the target XML document, performing receiver authorization for determining if an XDM forward receiving user can accept the forwarded XML document, and confirming that the XDM forward receiving user owns the forwarded XML document and storing the possessed XML document in a user directory when the receiver authorization has been successfully performed.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for controlling Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)-specific event notification corresponding to an event subscription according to a preference of a subscriber. The system includes the subscriber requesting an event subscription through an event notification controller; a subscription target for notifying the subscriber of the event through the event notification controller in response to the event subscription request; and the event notification controller for controlling whether the event notification is forwarded to the subscriber according to the preference rules of the subscriber on event notifications. Accordingly, the event notifications to the subscriber can be effectively controlled according to the preference rules of the subscriber on event notifications, and it is possible to prevent the generation of unnecessary event notification that the subscriber does not desire.

Abstract: A group management method and system for group communication in an interworking system of an IMPS system and a SIMPLE IM system is provided. In the method, a client currently connected to one of the IMPS system and the SIMPLE IM system requests the retrieval of the group properties of a group included in the other system to which the client is not connected. The group property retrieval request is converted into a protocol format supported by the other system and is forwarded to the other system. The other system retrieves the group properties of the group, generates a group property response including the retrieved group properties, and forwards the group property response. The group property response is converted into a protocol format supported by the currently connected system and is forwarded to the currently connected system. The currently connected system forwards the group property response to the client.

Abstract: A Converged-Internet Protocol (IP) Messaging (CPM) service provisioning method and system are provided including a CPM server. The CPM server includes an eXtension Markup Language (XML) Document Management (XDM) client for sending a request for preference information of a recipient terminal to which the CPM message is to be delivered, and receiving the preference information in response to the request from an XDM server that stores and manages the preference information of the recipient terminal; and an interworking selection entity for determining a non-CPM service to be subjected to interworking depending on the received preference information, and delivering the CPM message to an interworking server that interworks with the determined non-CPM service.

Abstract: Provided is a system and method for providing a converged messaging service, which can be compatibly used with or replace various services, such as an Instant Messaging (IM) service, a Short Message Service (SMS), a Multimedia Message Service (MMS), a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service, and a PTT over Cellular (PoC) service. To do this, there are defined an architecture and interfacing of a Converged Messaging Client (CMC) and a CM Server (CMS), which are elements of a converged messaging service for being compatibly used with or replacing the various services. In particular, there is suggested a method of enabling interworking between heterogeneous messaging services in an application layer by expending IP Multimedia Core Network (CN) Subsystem (IMS) technology. There is also suggested a method of defining a CM data storage for supporting the converged messaging service and managing a message and metadata stored in the defined CM data storage.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are provided for providing a presence notification. A presence server receives a request including a filtering rule from a watcher client. The filtering rule is defined based on presence attributes of the watcher client. The presence server stores a notification blocking filter corresponding to the filtering rule, when the request has been authorized using authorization related information.

Abstract: Disclosed is a new system and method for the “Content-level Reactive Presence Authorization”, wherein the Presentity would be able to reactively authorize the Watcher requested contents of the Presentity's Presence Information. According to the system and method for the Content-level Reactive Presence Authorization, it is possible for the Presence Server to convey the identity of the Watchers and the protected contents to the Presentity on the states of the Watcher's requested contents of the Presence Information. According to the systems and methods, it is also possible for Presentity to specify the conditions when the Presence Server triggers such Content-level Reactive Presence Authorization.

Abstract: A method in which a delegated client sends a request message containing operation information, a delegated client identity (ID), and a delegating client ID at the time of sending an operation request to a target system. The target system receives the request message and delegation-authorizes the delegated client by examining whether the delegating client is authorized to perform the operation requested by the request message and also whether the delegating client has delegated the authority to perform the operation to the delegated client sending the request message using the delegating client ID included in the request message. A new header is provided which includes ID information of the delegating client in the request message. When receiving the request message, the target system performs a procedure for authenticating and authorizing not only the delegated client but also the delegating client using the delegating client ID.

Abstract: A method for managing an Extensible Markup Language (XML) Document Management (XDM) Server history is provided. The method includes receiving, by the XDM Server, XML Documents and Filtering Rules within a filter body in an XCAP request from a first XDM Client Device, wherein the Filtering Rules define operation information performed on specific XML Documents to store as history information and further define when to store the history information of the XML Documents; storing the XML Documents and the Filtering Rules on the XDM Server; and when a second XDM Client Device has access to perform one or more operations on the XML Documents stored in the XDM Server, storing, by the XDM Server, the history information of the XML Documents according to the Filtering Rules by the XDM Server and the one or more operations performed.

Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for performing interworking between different messaging services in a Converged Internet Protocol (IP) Messaging (CPM) service. The method includes receiving, by a CPM server, a message generated based on a user input from an arbitrary terminal; requesting, by the CPM server, a presence server to provide presence information corresponding to a recipient of the message; receiving, from the presence server, the presence information that is transmitted in response to the request; deciding a type of a messaging service for interworking based on the presence information; and delivering, by the CPM server, the message to an Interworking Function (IWF) that converts the message according to the decided type of the messaging service.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for managing a user preference profile, and the system includes a plurality of application clients, a plurality of application servers corresponding to the plurality of application clients, and a shared server for storing and managing user preference profiles for respective applications. The application clients selectively activate the user preference profiles stored in the shared server and provide the selectively activated user preference profiles to the application servers. By storing user preference profiles for respective applications in one location in this way, the user preferences can be efficiently managed.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for transmitting/receiving encryption information in a mobile broadcast system providing broadcast service (BCAST) are disclosed. In the mobile broadcast system, a broadcast (BCAST) Service Distribution/Adaptation (BSD/A) unit comprises a transmitter for transmitting a Registration Key Material (RKM) request message for requesting delivery of an RKM for registration of the BCAST service of a terminal to a BCAST Subscription Management (BSM) unit managing subscriber information of the terminal, and a receiver for receiving an RKM request response message from the BSM unit. The RKM request message includes an identifier (ID) of the BCAST service, and the RKM request response message includes the ID of the BCAST service and the RKM. The transmitter transmits a Long-Term Key Message (LTKM) request message for requesting delivery of an LTKM provided to the terminal during subscription of the BCAST service to the BSM unit.

Abstract: A Converged-Internet Protocol (IP) Messaging (CPM) service provisioning method and system are provided including a CPM server. Abstract: A converged IP messaging client transmits a session establishment request for interactive message communication. When a converged IP messaging server receives the request, it determines whether a target client of the interactive message communication uses a converged IP messaging service. If not, the converged IP messaging server transmits the session establishment request to an IWF. If it is determined that the target client is an SM client, the IWF generates an interactive message communication request by transforming a format of the session establishment request into an SMS format and transmits the interactive message communication request to the SM client. If the IWF receives an acceptance response from the SM client in response to the interactive message communication request within an effective response time, a session for the interactive message communication can be established between the converged IP messaging client and the SM client.
