  • Patent number: 7548525
Abstract: Disclosed is a system for providing handover of a mobile node in a wireless network supporting Mobile IP (Internet Protocol). The mobile node sends, when handover is needed, a request for neighbor access router information to a first access router currently communicating with the mobile node, and selects, if the neighbor access router information is received, a second access router serving as a target access router using the received neighbor access router information. The first access router exchanges access router information with a neighbor access router, provides neighbor access router information to the mobile node upon receiving the neighbor access router information request from the mobile node, and redirects data to be delivered to the mobile node to the second access router to which the mobile node will be handed over. The second access router forwards data to be delivered to the mobile node, received from the first access router, to the corresponding mobile node.

  • Publication number: 20090055532
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for controlling Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)-specific event notification corresponding to an event subscription according to a preference of a subscriber. The system includes the subscriber requesting an event subscription through an event notification controller; a subscription target for notifying the subscriber of the event through the event notification controller in response to the event subscription request; and the event notification controller for controlling whether the event notification is forwarded to the subscriber according to the preference rules of the subscriber on event notifications. Accordingly, the event notifications to the subscriber can be effectively controlled according to the preference rules of the subscriber on event notifications, and it is possible to prevent the generation of unnecessary event notification that the subscriber does not desire.

  • Publication number: 20090052422
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for providing location information of a terminal by using an Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). To this end, a location request and a location estimate are transferred between terminals by using messages used in the SIP. In particular, it is possible to receive location information of a counterpart during communication, or transfer the location information of its own to a counterpart, in consideration of the fact that real-time voice service mainly uses the SIR Moreover, it is possible to request and transmit location information on using multimedia services. Therefore, a terminal or a server using the SIP easily uses location information, so that it is possible to provide new services inter-working with location services.

  • Publication number: 20080281931
Abstract: Provided is a group management method and system for group communication in an in-terworking system of an Instant Messaging and Presence Services (IMPS) system and a Session Initiation Protocol for Instant Messaging and Presence Leveraging Extensions Instant Messaging (SIMPLE IM) system. In the group management method, a client currently connected to one of the IMPS system and the SIMPLE IM system requests the retrieval of the group properties of a group included in the other system to which the client is not connected. The group property retrieval request is converted into a protocol format supported by the other system and is forwarded to the other system. The other system retrieves the group properties of the group, generates a group property response including the retrieved group properties, and forwards the group property response. The group property response is converted into a protocol format supported by the currently connected system and is forwarded to the currently connected system.

  • Publication number: 20080123686
Abstract: A mechanism to enable multiple message threads management in the context of the Converged IP Messaging (CPM) service and in the context of CPM inter-working with SMS is provided. A CPM user can simply start a message-based conversation with another CPM or Short Message Service (SMS) user without explicitly establishing a session beforehand. All messages that belong to a given conversation are displayed in the corresponding conversational view (i.e. window) in the CPM user device, even if the conversation is stopped and restarted at a later time, and even if there are multiple message threads available (currently active or stored) in the CPM device. Message structures and behavior of the CPM system elements to enable the functionalities above as well as a mechanism makes the message threads management possible even between a CPM user and an SMS user are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20080113679
Abstract: Provided is a system and method for providing a converged messaging service, which can be compatibly used with or replace various services, such as an Instant Messaging (IM) service, a Short Message Service (SMS), a Multimedia Message Service (MMS), a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service, and a PTT over Cellular (PoC) service. To do this, there are defined an architecture and interfacing of a Converged Messaging Client (CMC) and a CM Server (CMS), which are elements of a converged messaging service for being compatibly used with or replacing the various services. In particular, there is suggested a method of enabling interworking between heterogeneous messaging services in an application layer by expending IP Multimedia Core Network (CN) Subsystem (IMS) technology. There is also suggested a method of defining a CM data storage for supporting the converged messaging service and managing a message and metadata stored in the defined CM data storage.

  • Publication number: 20080114881
Abstract: A converged IP messaging client transmits a session establishment request for interactive message communication. When a converged IP messaging server receives the request, it determines whether a target client of the interactive message communication uses a converged IP messaging service. If not, the converged IP messaging server transmits the session establishment request to an IWF. If it is determined that the target client is an SM client, the IWF generates an interactive message communication request by transforming a format of the session establishment request into an SMS format and transmits the interactive message communication request to the SM client. If the IWF receives an acceptance response from the SM client in response to the interactive message communication request within an effective response time, a session for the interactive message communication can be established between the converged IP messaging client and the SM client.

  • Publication number: 20070287387
Abstract: An apparatus, method and system for device management of a mobile communication terminal are provided. Various errors which may occur in the mobile communication terminal are monitored by the mobile communication terminal and are corrected remotely. In the method, the mobile communication terminal receives DiagMon policies from a DM server and stores the DiagMon policies in real-time in which the DiagMon policies are constructed in response to various errors. The mobile communication terminal monitors then the status of the mobile communication terminal according to periods set in the DiagMon policies. When a trouble is detected to occur, the mobile communication terminal collects detailed information related to the occurred trouble and transmits the detailed information to the DM server. The mobile communication terminal receives DiagMon correction information capable of correcting the occurred trouble from the DM server and corrects the trouble, and therefore normalizes the terminal.

  • Publication number: 20070261106
Abstract: A method in which a delegated client sends a request message containing operation information, a delegated client identity (ID), and a delegating client ID at the time of sending an operation request to a target system. The target system receives the request message and delegation-authorizes the delegated client by examining whether the delegating client is authorized to perform the operation requested by the request message and also whether the delegating client has delegated the authority to perform the operation to the delegated client sending the request message using the delegating client ID included in the request message. A new header is provided which includes ID information of the delegating client in the request message. When receiving the request message, the target system performs a procedure for authenticating and authorizing not only the delegated client but also the delegating client using the delegating client ID.

  • Publication number: 20070093202
Abstract: A roaming service method in a mobile broadcasting system and a system thereof are provided. A terminal receives a service guide from a corresponding visited service provider (Visited SP) when the terminal moves to a roaming area. The terminal transmits a roaming request message for requesting a purchase item allowable for individual services to a home service provider (Home SP) based on the received service guide. Upon receipt of the roaming request message, the Home SP negotiates roaming availability and allowable scope for each individual service with the Visited SP where the terminal is located, based on the roaming request message. The Home SP transmits the roaming availability and allowable scope for the individual service, negotiated with the Visited SP, to the terminal.

  • Publication number: 20070043692
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for managing XDM (XML Document Management) service information to improve management efficiency for OMA (Open Mobile Alliance) service information. The apparatus includes a controller for creating a shared User Resource Identifier (URI), and using a value created by the controller as a static value to be used as a newly-created reference handle for shared service information referred to by service information. The newly-created value is set as an unchanged value (i.e., it remains static until a corresponding element vanishes), thereby preventing signaling overhead, compatibility degradation, and resource waste due to modification of the shared service information.
