Abstract: A group management method and system for group communication in an interworking system of an IMPS system and a SIMPLE IM system is provided. In the method, a client currently connected to one of the IMPS system and the SIMPLE IM system requests the retrieval of the group properties of a group included in the other system to which the client is not connected. The group property retrieval request is converted into a protocol format supported by the other system and is forwarded to the other system. The other system retrieves the group properties of the group, generates a group property response including the retrieved group properties, and forwards the group property response. The group property response is converted into a protocol format supported by the currently connected system and is forwarded to the currently connected system. The currently connected system forwards the group property response to the client.

Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for managing XDM service information in an XDM client included in a user terminal of an OMA system. The apparatus includes a controller for creating a shared URI list including a static reference handle value for indicating the shared URI list, transmitting the shared URI list to a shared XDMS for storage as a reference for service information corresponding to a plurality of OMA services in accordance with the static reference handle value, and changing the at least one piece of the service information; a receiving device for receiving the request to create the shared URI list; and a transmitting device for transmitting the shared URI list to the shared XDMS. The service information includes at least one of RLS service information, PoC service information, and XDM service information.

Abstract: A system and method for interworking a Converged-IP Messaging (CPM) service to another messaging service. In particular, the present invention realizes a function of allowing a CPM service's recipient to receive a message sent from another CPM service's sender using a non-CPM service to which the recipient has subscribed. To this end, the present invention uses preference information of a recipient in determining a non-CPM service to be subjected to interworking. In this way, the CPM service can interwork with non-CPM services, contributing to expansion of an area where services can be provided.

Abstract: A mobile broadcast system for delivering a notification event for generation of a notification message for information provisioning to a subscriber receiving a broadcast service is provided. The mobile broadcast system includes a first apparatus for managing subscriber information of the broadcast service, handling generation of at least one notification message according to at least one notification event, and generating a response message indicating generation end of the notification message; and a second apparatus for sending a notification event message for requesting generation of the notification message to the first apparatus according to the at least one notification event, receiving the response message in response thereto, and then handling delivery of the notification message over a broadcast channel or an interaction channel.

Abstract: In a Converged IP Messaging (CPM) service, an arbitrary terminal generates a message based on a user input, and transmits the message to a CPM server. Upon receiving the message, the CPM server requests a presence server to provide presence information corresponding to a recipient of the message. The presence server searches for presence information corresponding to the recipient in response to the request of the CPM server, and transmits the searched presence information to the CPM server. Based on the transmitted presence information, the CPM server decides to perform interworking for the message, decides a type of a messaging service for interworking, and transmits the message to an Interworking Function (IWF) according to the decided type of the messaging service. The IWF receives the message, converts the message according to the decided messaging service, and transmits the converted message to the recipient.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for managing XDM (XML Document Management) service information to improve management efficiency for OMA (Open Mobile Alliance) service information. The apparatus includes a controller for creating a shared User Resource Identifier (URI), and using a value created by the controller as a static value to be used as a newly-created reference handle for shared service information referred to by service information. The newly-created value is set as an unchanged value (i.e., it remains static until a corresponding element vanishes), thereby preventing signaling overhead, compatibility degradation, and resource waste due to modification of the shared service information.

Abstract: A method and system for dynamic advertisement of presence information using SIP is disclosed. In one embodiment, a method for dynamic advertisement of presence information includes initiation of the presence invitation message by presence inviter which can be of XML format, distribution of presence invitation message by presence invitation distributor from presence inviter to presence invitee and acceptance of the presence invitation message by presence invitee including subscribing as per the invitation, which provides information to the presence invitees about newly available parts of presence information, through SIP REFER or SIP MESSAGE methods. In another embodiment of the present invention includes a method for sending the presence invitation message directly to a single presence invitee. In yet another embodiment of the present invention includes a method for sending the presence invitation message to multiple presence invitees in a URI-list through RLS and XDMS.

Abstract: An apparatus, method and system for device management of a mobile communication terminal are provided. Various errors which may occur in the mobile communication terminal are monitored by the mobile communication terminal and are corrected remotely. In the method, the mobile communication terminal receives DiagMon policies from a DM server and stores the DiagMon policies in real-time in which the DiagMon policies are constructed in response to various errors. The mobile communication terminal monitors then the status of the mobile communication terminal according to periods set in the DiagMon policies. When a trouble is detected to occur, the mobile communication terminal collects detailed information related to the occurred trouble and transmits the detailed information to the DM server. The mobile communication terminal receives DiagMon correction information capable of correcting the occurred trouble from the DM server and corrects the trouble, and therefore normalizes the terminal.

Abstract: A method for requesting presence information from a presence source by a presence server is provided. The method includes receiving, from a presence source, media feature tag value corresponding to presence information published by the presence source, respectively; requesting specific presence information from the presence source using a specific media feature tag value from among the media feature tag values; transmitting a publication rule for controlling publication operation of the presence source; and receiving, from the presence source, the specific presence information published by the presence source, according to the publication rule. Each of the media feature tag value represents a type of presence information published by the presence source.

Abstract: A mechanism to enable multiple message threads management in the context of the Converged IP Messaging (CPM) service and in the context of CPM inter-working with SMS is provided. A CPM user can simply start a message-based conversation with another CPM or Short Message Service (SMS) user without explicitly establishing a session beforehand. All messages that belong to a given conversation are displayed in the corresponding conversational view (i.e. window) in the CPM user device, even if the conversation is stopped and restarted at a later time, and even if there are multiple message threads available (currently active or stored) in the CPM device. Message structures and behavior of the CPM system elements to enable the functionalities above as well as a mechanism makes the message threads management possible even between a CPM user and an SMS user are also provided.

Abstract: A system and method for presence subscription delegation in a multi-domain environment in an SIP-based presence system are provided, in which a watcher transmits a presence subscription delegation request to a presence subscription delegation handler of a delegating user, the presence subscription delegation handler performs delegation authorization for the received presence subscription delegation request according to a presence delegation authorization rule of the delegating user being authorization information about presence subscription delegation, and a presence server of a presentity receives the presence subscription delegation request from the presence subscription delegation handler, performs presence authorization according to a presence authorization rule of the presentity, and transmits presence information about the presentity to the watcher via the presence subscription delegation handler.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for transmitting/receiving encryption information in a mobile broadcast system providing broadcast service (BCAST) are disclosed. In the mobile broadcast system, a broadcast (BCAST) Service Distribution/Adaptation (BSD/A) unit comprises a transmitter for transmitting a Registration Key Material (RKM) request message for requesting delivery of an RKM for registration of the BCAST service of a terminal to a BCAST Subscription Management (BSM) unit managing subscriber information of the terminal, and a receiver for receiving an RKM request response message from the BSM unit. The RKM request message includes an identifier (ID) of the BCAST service, and the RKM request response message includes the ID of the BCAST service and the RKM. The transmitter transmits a Long-Term Key Message (LTKM) request message for requesting delivery of an LTKM provided to the terminal during subscription of the BCAST service to the BSM unit.

Abstract: A common location service request/response method between various types of clients and location servers. A location request and a location estimate are delivered between a terminal and a location server using messages defined in a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) protocol. In this manner, the terminal and server using the SIP protocol can easily send a request/response for location information, making it possible to provide a new service associated with the location service.

Abstract: A roaming service method in a mobile broadcasting system and a system thereof are provided. A terminal receives a service guide from a corresponding visited service provider (Visited SP) when the terminal moves to a roaming area. The terminal transmits a roaming request message for requesting a purchase item allowable for individual services to a home service provider (Home SP) based on the received service guide. Upon receipt of the roaming request message, the Home SP negotiates roaming availability and allowable scope for each individual service with the Visited SP where the terminal is located, based on the roaming request message. The Home SP transmits the roaming availability and allowable scope for the individual service, negotiated with the Visited SP, to the terminal.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for providing location information of a terminal by using an Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). To this end, a location request and a location estimate are transferred between terminals by using messages used in the SIP. In particular, it is possible to receive location information of a counterpart during communication, or transfer the location information of its own to a counterpart, in consideration of the fact that real-time voice service mainly uses the SIP. Moreover, it is possible to request and transmit location information on using multimedia services. Therefore, a terminal or a server using the SIP easily uses location information, so that it is possible to provide new services inter-working with location services.

Abstract: A method for indirectly creating an XML (eXtensible Markup Language) document in an XDMS (XML Document Management Server) by using a URL (Uniform Resource Locator), which indicates the position of an XCAP (XML Configuration Access Protocol) document, in an XDM (XML Document Management) system including an XDMC (XDM Client) and an XDMS. The method includes transmitting an XCAP PUT request message, which contains an XCAP URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) and a storage position of an XML document to be created, to a corresponding XDMS by the XDMC; and receiving the XCAP PUT request message by the XDMS, retrieving an XML document corresponding to the XCAP URI contained in the XCAP PUT request message, and storing the XML document in the storage position.

Abstract: A system and method for transmitting/receiving encryption information in a mobile broadcast system supporting broadcast service (BCAST) are provided. In the mobile broadcast system, a BCAST Subscription Management (BSM) manages subscriber information of a terminal, and transmits to a BCAST Service Distribution/Adaptation (BSD/A) a first delivery message including a Registration Key Material (RKM) provided for registration of the broadcast service of the terminal and including at least one service or content's identifier. The BSD/A transmits to the BSM a first delivery confirmation message including information indicating success/fail in receipt of the first delivery message, and transmits the RKM to the terminal.

Abstract: A method for requesting presence information from a presence source by a presence server is provided. The method includes receiving, from a presence source, media feature tag value corresponding to presence information published by the presence source, respectively; requesting specific presence information from the presence source using a specific media feature tag value from among the media feature tag values; transmitting a publication rule for controlling publication operation of the presence source; and receiving, from the presence source, the specific presence information published by the presence source, according to the publication rule.
