    Abstract: A sensor having a converging shape (e.g., ellipsoidal) that causes a flow stream velocity to increase from the entry towards the center (narrowest region), in line to Bernoulli's principle. The sensor includes a trapped volume that can be used to detect gas molecules. The positioning of the sensor in a narrow region can expose it to higher velocity and higher ppm, which in turn lead to a better exchange of molecules between ambient and the void in front of a gas sensing element within the sensor, thereby improving the sensor's ability to detect gas molecules at lower concentrations and with a higher speed of response. The shape of the emission detection device allows for flow convergence regardless of the wind direction in 360°.

The ground terminal can provide a watertight ground connection irrespective of the type of ground connection requirement. For each slot-adaptor module pair, the slot includes one of a key and a receptacle configured to receive the key, and the adaptor module includes the other of the key and the receptacle. Each key fits into the receptacle associated with one type of adaptor module and cannot fit into the receptacles associated with other types of adaptor modules. Each receptacle accepts the key associated with one type of adaptor module and cannot accept the keys associated with other types of adaptor modules. Each of at least one of the keys and the receptacles is rotatable to achieve one of multiple different orientations. Different ones of the keys have different cross-sectional shapes.

    Abstract: A field device apparatus includes a field device that includes a first PCB (Printed Circuit Board) based on a PCB outline of a PWA (Printed Wiring Assembly) and a second PCB based on the PCB outline. One or more pass-through-hole standoffs can be configured with respect to the first and second PCB's in a configuration, wherein the PCB outline is extended to mount the pass-through-hole standoff to the first PCB and the second PCB. The pass-through-hole standoff can be soldered to the first PCB which is connected to a chassis ground that allows a mounting screw to make contact from a top side of the field device to a field mount housing through the pass-through-hole standoff, thereby effectively providing chassis ground connection through mounting screws to the external world. The pass-through-hole standoff can include a through-hole, but does not contain a thread therein.
