  • Publication number: 20050150398
Abstract: An image transfer mechanism for a printer having a printer frame and an imaging drum attached to the printer frame includes a roller arm having a proximal end and a distal end, a transfer roller having a longitudinal axis, and a load arm having a proximal end and a distal end. The axis of the transfer roller is rotatably attached to the roller arm. The proximal end of the roller arm is attached to the load arm between the proximal end and the distal end of the load arm. The proximal end of the load arm is pivotally attached to the printer frame, and a load mechanism applies a load force to the distal end of the load arm to urge the load arm toward the imaging drum. An engaging mechanism selectively urges the distal end of the roller arm toward the imaging drum, which presses the load arm against the load force of the load mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20050147443
Abstract: A method for deriving and implementing one or more motion profiles is provided. In the method, at least one time constraint between a first motor controlled system in an automated device and a second motor controlled system in the automated device are identified. Known parameters of the first motor controlled system and the second motor controlled system are identified and supplied. A first motion profile for the first motor controlled system is created. A second motion profile for the second motor controlled system is created. The identified at least one time constraint is applied to the first and second motion profiles to constrain the first and second motion profiles to one another. The first and second motion profiles are solved to complete a solution having solution information to prepare for use by said first and second motor controlled systems. The solution information is post-processed for use by the first and second motor controlled systems.

  • Publication number: 20050110817
Abstract: Disclosed are methods for compensating for failed ink jets in an ink jet apparatus. The method in embodiments determines if one or more ink jets are nonfunctioning or have failed and substitutes for the one or more nonfunctioning ink jets by using one or more operational ink jets. The operational ink jets used are neighboring operational ink jets that fill in for the one or more failed ink jets. The one or more failed ink jets are disabled wherein a primary image pass is performed followed by one or more additional imaging passes to fill in for the one or more disabled ink jets by enabling the one or more neighboring operational ink jets. The additional imaging passes may be a right fill imaging pass, a left fill imaging pass or a combination of both.

  • Publication number: 20050113193
Abstract: Sport ball training devices and methods for releasably holding a tennis ball or other sport ball at an appropriate height for the practice of striking the ball, either directly or indirectly with a racket or the like. An embodiment may have a support device with a base and an adjustable vertical tubular assembly for the support of a transverse arm from which a ball sling is suspended. A retainer member of the ball sling circumferentially holds a sport ball. An embodiment of the retainer member may be made from an elastometric material that lightly squeezes the ball with sufficient force to restrain it, but releases easily when the ball is hit so that the trajectory of the ball is not affected by the presence of the retainer member nor is the racquet significantly affected by the presence of the ball sling generally.

  • Publication number: 20050062495
Abstract: A standardized silicon platform chip has a substrate surface with an array of unconnected transistors that surround islands. The islands have circuit elements that are interconnectable within each island to form a plurality of varied circuit functions for each of the islands. The varied circuit functions include both application functions and clock functions. Interconnect layers are deposited over the substrate surface to interconnect the circuit elements within each island to complete the varied circuit functions. The varied circuit functions include varied levels of integration including at least gates, flip-flops, clock trees, and oscillators. The varied circuit functions are custom connectable to the array of unconnected transistors to form standard clock resources for the standardized silicon platform chip.

  • Patent number: 6871154
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method and an apparatus for automatically configuring and/or inserting chip resources for manufacturing tests. A maximum test configuration (“test backplane”) for all IP blocks is created and loaded into a tool suite. When a user issues a request to consume some IP blocks, the request may be checked for legality within the “test backplane”. If a test resource (IP block) is not available for activation, then either the test resource may not be activated or the conflicting resource problem must be resolved so that the test resource may be activated. This may avoid late design surprises. The resources on the platform may already have test structures associated with them. All of these test structures may be associated with the “test backplane”. These pre-exiting test structures may then be connected.

  • Publication number: 20050035048
Abstract: A filtration system includes an outer casing that houses a plurality of elongated inner casings, which in turn house a plurality of filters (membranes). The outer casing, inner casings, and filters are disposed relative to one another to provide a three-flow channel system that provides additional feed fluid at one or more of the membrane couplings between membranes of the same inner casing. In preferred systems and methods the feed fluid flow path comprises an annular space between the inner casings and the filters contained in such casings, and in more preferred embodiments the annular space is substantially continuous past multiple filters of the same inner casing. The inner casings may advantageously have openings that fluidly communicate with the lumen of the outer casing, thereby reducing the ratio of couplings relative to the number of filters (the coupling/filter ratio).

  • Publication number: 20050003791
Abstract: This disclosure presents a communication receiver system for spacecraft that includes an open loop receiver adapted to receive a communication signal. An ultrastable oscillator (USO) and a tone detector are connected to the open loop receiver. The open loop receiver translates the communication signal to an intermediate frequency signal using a highly stable reference frequency from the USO. The tone detector extracts commands from the communication signal by evaluating the difference between tones of the communication signal.

  • Patent number: 6643990
Abstract: The modular molding system of the present invention comprises a plurality of modular molding sections for covering the joint formed between a vertical wall and a ceiling to create a crown molding. The sections, preferably formed of a thin plastic vacuum-molded material, include an angled faced portion and a horizontal alignment portion interconnected with the angled face portion. The molding sections include a first straight end and a second angled end. The angled ends are used for forming coped corner moldings, the angled end of one section contacting the face of another section at a right angle. A desired length of linear molding is formed by overlapping the straight end of a first section over the angled end of a second section. This process can be repeated to form a molding of desired length. The molding sections are flexible to abut to an uneven surface of a vertical wall. The horizontal alignment portion carries an adhesive which allows the molding to be adhered to a ceiling.
