  • Patent number: 8336164
Abstract: An upright cleaning appliance having a handle for maneuvering the appliance across a floor. The handle is secured on a reclining upright body of the appliance for rotation about a longitudinal axis of the upright body. The handle includes a forward-extending handgrip portion which terminates in an abutment flange for preventing the handgrip portion from slipping out through the bottom of a user's grip.

  • Publication number: 20120179115
Abstract: A pen needle (101) for use with a drug delivery device (100) includes a hub body (113) having internal threads (216) to receive the drug delivery device (100). A post (121) is connected to the hub body (113). A needle (103) is rigidly fixed to the post (121). The post (121) is separable from the hub body (113) such that the needle (103) is removed with the post (121). The fluid path is not disturbed by such removal because the entire needle (103) is removed with the post (121). Removal of only the post (121) and needle (103) reduces the volume of waste required for disposal, thereby increasing the effective capacity of a sharps container.

  • Publication number: 20120041385
Abstract: An attachable needle storage device is provided with a main body and a rotatable sleeve and a plurality of new needles stored within the sleeve, a leaf spring to direct each needle into a circumferential position of the pen body when rotated, and a ramp to move the needle into an axial position of the pen body when retracted or pulled rearward by the user. The attachable needle storage device is configured to attach to a pen device in a manner substantially the same as a conventional needle hub. In doing so, the rotation of the sleeve can be used to rotate a new needle onto a shuttle, and the retraction of the device can be used to cause a ramp to engage the needle and needle hub, moving the needle toward the axial position of the pen body and the septum. Once under the septum, the user continues pulling the device rearward, such that the needle is then moved rearward, pierces the septum of the medicament cartridge and exposes the distal end of the needle for injection.

  • Publication number: 20120041373
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for storing and changing needles for connection with a medicament delivery device, comprising an inner housing, a reservoir disposed within the inner housing, and a needle holder disposed within the inner housing, for fluidly connecting a medicament container of the medicament delivery device with the reservoir. The apparatus also includes a plurality of patient needles displaceably disposed on the needle holder, and an outer housing displaceably disposed about the inner housing and providing a user interface to individually select one of the plurality of patient needles, connect the selected needle with the reservoir, expose the selected needle outside of the apparatus for injection, and store the selected needle.

  • Publication number: 20110270222
Abstract: A pen body assembly (100) for a drug delivery pen includes a pen body (101) and a dose setting body (111) movably connected to the pen body (101). A knob (109) is connected to the dose setting body (111) for moving the dose setting body (111) relative to the pen body (111). One of the pen body (101) and the dose setting body (111) has a thread groove (107) having a varied pitch disposed thereon and the other one has a protrusion (105) engaging the thread groove (107).

  • Publication number: 20110184348
Abstract: A high pressure delivery device for delivering a medicament includes a first chamber for storing a supply of the medicament and a second chamber in fluid communication with the first chamber. A fluid connection path is in fluid communication with the second chamber for administering the medicament. A valving system is in fluid communication with the first chamber, the second chamber and the fluid connection path. The valving system allows a dose of the medicament to be injected from the first chamber into the second chamber while substantially preventing backflow of the dose into the first chamber and substantially preventing leakage through the fluid connection path. The valving system also allows the dose in the second chamber to be administered through the fluid connection path while substantially preventing the dose from flowing back into the first chamber.

  • Patent number: 7867307
Abstract: A cyclonic separating apparatus for a cleaning appliance includes a plurality of cyclonic separators arranged in series for separating particles from a dirt- and dust-laden airflow, at least two or three collectors for collecting separated dirt and dust, and a closure member movable between a closed position in which the closure member closes an end of each collector and an open position in which separated dirt and dust can be emptied from the collectors. The ends of the collectors are separated by dividing walls. A expandable seal is provided between the closure member and the dividing walls to seal when the closure member is in the closed position. The expandable seal is able to seal effectively even if the closure member is misaligned, incorrectly fitted or if dirt and dust is present between the surfaces to be sealed.

  • Publication number: 20100101977
Abstract: A packaging form or blank for one or more lipped containers, where each of the containers has an upper lip that extends outward beyond the periphery of the container body, and where the containers have been placed one inside another to create a nested stack configuration. The form or blank is an elongated, flat construction that defines an opening that is sized and shaped such that when a container body is inserted through the opening, the form rests against the bottom of the lip of the container at the bottom of the stack. When the form is then folded over the stack, the form rests against the top of the lip of the container at the top of the stack.

  • Publication number: 20070282239
Abstract: A dressing for applying compression to a wound in a patient includes a bladder having a non-deformable end wall and a deformable membrane. The dressing may include a flexible web having an adhesive layer on one side thereof for securing the dressing to the patient so as to hold the bladder against the patient's skin. Upon inflation, the deformable membrane projects towards the patient's skin and exerts pressure on the wound to reduce the flow of blood from the wound.
