  • Publication number: 20240131499
Abstract: Organocatalysts can be engineered to mimic biological enzymes for use in a variety of industrially relevant chemical reactions. The organocatalyst comprises a chemical catalyst that is made by imidation of an amine-containing compound to form an N-substituted maleimide and appending the N-substituted maleimide on a furan-containing compound by Diels-Alder reaction and hydrogenation. The N-substituted maleimide may also be made by reacting a protected maleimide and compound containing a primary alkyl halide moiety. The organocatalysts are engineered to append chemical functionalities of amino acids such as glutamic acid for catalyzing hydrolysis of lactose. The organocatalyst further comprises a support to immobilize the chemical catalyst which plays the role of a scaffold to stabilize catalytic active sites and bind the reactants nearby the active sites, similar to a protein scaffold in biological catalysts.

  • Publication number: 20240126743
Abstract: JSON Duality Views are object views that return JDV objects. JDV objects are virtual because they are not stored in a database as JSON objects. Rather, JDV objects are stored in shredded form across tables and table attributes (e.g. columns) and returned by a DBMS in response to database commands that request a JDV object from a JSON Duality View. Through JSON Duality Views, changes to the state of a JDV object may be specified at the level of a JDV object. JDV objects are updated in a database using optimistic lock.

  • Patent number: 11934461
Abstract: A method uses natural language for visual analysis of a dataset. A data visualization application displays a data visualization, at a computer, based on a dataset retrieved from a database using a set of one or more queries. A user specifies a natural language command related to the displayed data visualization, and the computer extracts an analytic phrase from the natural language command. The computer computes semantic relatedness between the analytic phrase and numeric data fields in the dataset. The computer identifies numeric data fields having highest semantic relatedness to the analytic phrase, and also selects a relevant numerical function. The numerical function compares data values in the numeric data fields to a threshold value. The computer retrieves an updated dataset that filters the identified numeric data fields according to the numeric function. The computer then displays an updated data visualization using the updated dataset.

  • Patent number: 11918300
Abstract: An ultrasound imaging system for needle insertion guidance uses a curved array transducer to scan an image field with unsteered beams as a needle is inserted into the image field. Due to differences in the angle of incidence between the radially directed beams and the needle, echoes will return most strongly from only a section of the needle. This section is identified in an image, and the angle of incidence producing the strongest returns is identified. Beams with this optimal angle of incidence are then steered in parallel from the curved array transducer to produce the best needle image. The steep steering angles of some of the steered beams can give rise to side lobe clutter artifacts, which can be identified and removed from the image data using dual apodization processing of the image data.

  • Publication number: 20230368928
Abstract: Techniques for improved dynamic transmission are provided. Occurrence of a defined event, of a plurality of defined events, is detected within a healthcare supply platform. A user corresponding to the occurrence of the defined event is identified, and a link to a customized webpage is generated based on a defined webpage template corresponding to the defined event. A transmission is generated based on a defined message template corresponding to the defined event, wherein the transmission includes the link to the customized webpage. The first transmission is transmitted to the user.

  • Publication number: 20230238819
Abstract: An intelligent energy system includes an energy-consuming appliance, a battery module coupled to the appliance, and a bidirectional converter coupled to the appliance and the battery module by a power bus. The battery module is configured to provide power to the appliance. The bidirectional converter converts between alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) and interfaces with a power infrastructure external to the appliance. The system further includes a control unit communicatively coupled to the battery module, the bidirectional converter, and the appliance. The control unit is configured to determine a charge and discharge schedule for the battery module. The battery module coupled with the bidirectional converter provides uninterrupted power to the appliance, abstracts the power demands of the appliance from local power infrastructure, and allows for greater appliance peak power draw than would otherwise be practical or possible.

  • Publication number: 20210361670
Abstract: Biocompatible microparticles include an ophthalmically active cyclic lipid component and a biodegradable polymer that is effective, when placed into the subconjunctival space, in facilitating release of the cyclic lipid component into the anterior and posterior segments of an eye for an extended period of time. The cyclic lipid component can be associated with a biodegradable polymer matrix, such as a matrix of a two biodegradable polymers. Or, the cyclic lipid component can be encapsulated by the polymeric component. The present microparticles include oil-in-water emulsified microparticles.
