  • Publication number: 20160252751
Abstract: The disclosed technology describes methods for the selection, design and production of custom-fit eyeglasses, using a 3D printer. Embodiments include an eye examination and biometric measurements of a patient. The data can be used to produce custom-fit eyeglass frames. Eyeglass selection is facilitated by the display of a selection of various frames in both digital and physical form. A 3D version of the patient's head may be created from digital images, which can be used to produce a final version of the eyeglass frame. Lens dimensions may be traced and the trace used to modify the eyeglass frame. Half of an eyeglass frame may be generated, from which a mirror image is created, and a final frame produced from the resulting image. Also disclosed is an electronic device system which receives, processes and transmits data for the production of custom-fit eyeglass frames.

  • Publication number: 20160015718
Abstract: Biocompatible microparticles include an ophthalmically active cyclic lipid component and a biodegradable polymer that is effective, when placed into the subconjunctival space, in facilitating release of the cyclic lipid component into the anterior and posterior segments of an eye for an extended period of time. The cyclic lipid component can be associated with a biodegradable polymer matrix, such as a matrix of a two biodegradable polymers. Or, the cyclic lipid component can be encapsulated by the polymeric component. The present microparticles include oil-in-water emulsified microparticles. • Patent number: 8967440
Abstract: A wrapping film dispenser has a generally cylindrical container that defines a cavity for accommodating a wrapping film roll, and further defines a slot extending along its length for extracting a sheet of wrapping film through the slot. A gripping pad member is rigidly attached at a first lengthwise edge of the slot. A locking element is rigidly attached proximal to a second lengthwise edge of the slot. The locking element extends towards the gripping pad member, presses the extracted wrapping film sheet against the gripping pad member, and restricts movement and prevents roll back of the extracted wrapping film sheet. A cutting frame is rigidly attached proximal to the first lengthwise edge of the slot above the gripping pad member, and has a protruding element located at a predetermined location on the cutting frame for cutting the wrapping film sheet extracted out through the slot.

  • Publication number: 20140350677
Abstract: One aspect of the present invention is a method of producing a decellularized composite tissue bioscaffold for musculoskeletal tissue interface reconstruction by physicochemically treating a musculoskeletal tissue interface isolated from allogeneic sources. In certain embodiments, such musculoskeletal tissue interfaces can also be isolated from xenogeneic sources. The method comprises treatment of the interface with detergents, chemical oxidants and ultrasonic energy, and wash steps in between to remove residual detergents as well as oxidants. The resulting bioscaffold may be freeze-dried or lyophilized, sterilized and aseptically packaged for subsequent use.

  • Publication number: 20120235468
Abstract: A bicycle hub of the present invention comprises two discs, an axial portion, and a connecting portion. The discs are formed with a through hole individually. The axial portion comprises a first end, a second end, and a middle section. The first and the second end of the axial portion penetrate the through hole of one of the discs individually. The connecting portion connects between two discs. The connecting portion defines at least an open portion so that at least a part of the middle section of the axial portion is not enclosed and can be seen. As such, the connecting portion of the present invention defines the open portion so that the connecting portion incompletely encloses the middle section of the axial portion. Whereby the connecting portion not only saves material, but reduces the weight of the bicycle hub.

  • Patent number: 7942654
Abstract: The present invention provides an addressable multi-channel peristaltic pump. According to the invention, this pump design allows for selection and operation of one or more pump heads on a drive shaft, while locking other non-selected pump heads in a stationary position. It is possible to operate the multi-channel pump using a limited number of motors, preferably two motors: a selector motor and a dispense motor. Thus, the pump provides for pumping or dispensing of one or more fluids without the need for multiple pumps. Likewise, compared with typical single motor multi-channel systems, where all pump heads on the drive shaft must rotate at the same time, the present invention provides for selective dispensing of one or more fluids. The pumps of the present invention are suitable for any multiple fluid transfer application, including in automated multi-channel reagent dispensing systems, such as nucleic acid purification systems.

  • Publication number: 20110025075
Abstract: A window tilt latch has a casing, a latching bolt and a safety device. The latching bolt is mounted slidably in the casing and has a latching end, an inner end and a sliding element. The latching end extends out of the casing. The sliding element is mounted on the latching bolt and is mounted slidably in a guiding slot defined in the casing. The safety device is mounted on the casing and has a control knob mounted rotatably on the casing, selectively abuts with the inner end of the latching bolt to keep the latching bolt from being retracted into the casing. The control knob has an inserting hole selectively aligning with the inner end of the latching bolt to allow the inner end of the latching bolt to be inserted into the inserting hole and to retract the latching bolt into the casing.
