  • Publication number: 20090253560
Abstract: A novel apparatus and method is disclosed for securing clothing or an object of weight against a body with one or more double locking securing wraps as well as overlapping double lock securing wraps. One lock is created between the edge of the object and the inside of the securing wrap while the other lock is created between the end of the wrap and the outside of the object or the outside of a securing wrap. Hook and loop fasteners are used to create the edge locks which prevent the object from sliding out from under the securing wrap. Weighted ankles, wrists, pants and vest system are also disclosed which incorporate the double locking system. The system allows for a wide range of size adjustability including the ability to add tension between the locks for additional security.

  • Publication number: 20090072076
Abstract: A reliable and inexpensive attitude control system uses a plurality of pitch-over thrusters to perform rapid and precise attitude maneuvers for a flight vehicle. The pitch-over thrusters create rotational moments that directly pitch and yaw the flight vehicle. The use of very simple thrusters and control techniques provides for a reliable and cost effective solution. The ability to perform overlapping pitch and yaw maneuvers with single-shot fixed-impulse thrusters provides for high-speed maneuverability.

  • Publication number: 20080312043
Abstract: A novel balance exercise apparatus and method of training is disclosed which includes a spanning system which spans between two positions in space and supports a suspended system which is suspended between the two positions in space. A user trains their balance skills and exercises by positioning all or part of their body on the suspended system and then moves their body to maintain their balance while remaining in place or doing exercises. The suspended system creates a dynamic balance environment where the suspended system may move such as swing, bend, rotate, or twist, all controlled by the balance and movement of the user. The suspended system may consist of rigid and/or flexible devices that are supported by the spanning system above the ground. In addition, the spanning system and the suspended system may include devices to vary the nature and difficulty of the dynamic balance environment.

  • Publication number: 20080024327
Abstract: Keys of a keypad are configured to exhibit a wave-like vertical profile across a width of the keypad, thereby improving user comfort. Keys on the edge of the main grouping are raised, with the height of adjacent keys gradually reduced until a minimum (trough) is achieved. The height of the further adjacent keys is then increased until a maximum (peak) is achieved. In accordance with one embodiment, the keyboard includes two key troughs separated by an intervening raised key portion. The key troughs are positioned at the approximate location of hands resting on the home row of keys, for example in the case of a QWERTY keypad at the “D” key and at the “K” or “L” keys. The continuous, flowing change in the vertical profile of the keycaps renders the keyboard more accessible to the natural, relaxed state of the human hand, easing physical strain.

  • Publication number: 20070250808
Abstract: A financial institution can provide financial services to a plurality of remote devices, such as personal computers, personal data assistants, screen phones, automatic teller machines, external service providers, and internally to staff terminals and individual branches. By separating the components of the system into independent components, the system and method can be developed and tested on a component level rather than the entire system level, thereby reducing the development and maintenance cycle time. The system and method operate in sessions and can employ a dialog component for gathering information from a customer, a rule broker component for providing answers to the various legal and regulatory rules in a particular country, a language man component for selecting appropriate language, a transaction executor component for performing transactions, and a presentation manager component for formatting outputs to the customer.

  • Publication number: 20070214922
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to band saw blades often used for cutting wood at a sawmill. A band saw blade has teeth, and at least one tooth has a back angle that is greater than the back angle of conventional band saw blades. The greater back angle results in teeth having a smaller tooth angle so that the teeth make deeper penetration into wood or other materials that are cut by the blade.

  • Publication number: 20070199416
Abstract: The invention relates to the structure of a band saw blade. The band saw blade has teeth with an improved geometrical shape that increases the efficiency of the blade. The tooth shape of a band saw blade is defined in part by the back angle and the hook angle, wherein the back angle of the disclosed embodiment exceeds the value of back angle of conventional band saw blades.

  • Publication number: 20070180476
Abstract: An art distribution system for distributing art to multiple display devices within an environment. The art distribution system provides a technique for specifying images to be displayed in an environment. The art distribution system provides a hierarchical representation of spaces within the environment. Each space may be further subdivided into subspaces. The art distribution system allows a user to select a space within the hierarchy and then to select an image that is to be displayed at the display devices within the selected space. The art distribution system then displays the selected image within the space including within all subspaces of the selected space. The art distribution system may allow a subsequent assignment of the image to a subspace to override within that subspace the previous selection of an image for the space.
