  • Publication number: 20220353082
Abstract: Devices, methods, and systems that thwart deepfake modification of media, and/or verify the identity of a person and that their communications have not been altered, among other applications. A device is configured to use sensors to record a corroborating data set (CDS) pertaining to the user in near real time. The CDS is encrypted or signed by a user's private key to create a cryptographic verification code (CVC). The CVC may be displayed, emitted, or otherwise distributed by the totem device. Alternatively, the CVC may be superimposed or embedded as metadata in media produced by the device. The CVC cannot be modified with deepfake techniques while image and video data may be modified with deepfake techniques. Analysis of media containing a CVC can confirm whether the CVC is authentic, and whether the CDS contained within is consistent with the depiction of the user in the media.

  • Patent number: 11468427
Abstract: Disclosed are exemplary embodiments of systems and methods for providing contactless payment at a point-of-sale (POS) terminal associated with a merchant, without local, direct communication of the POS terminal with a payment device. One exemplary method includes receiving a selection of a modified contactless payment option for a transaction at the POS terminal. In response, the POS terminal presents a detail for the transaction and receives a transaction setup message from a payment network. The transaction setup message includes a credential for a payment account associated with the consumer. An authorization request for the transaction is then generated, which includes the payment account credential, a merchant ID of the merchant, and an amount of the transaction. The POS terminal then transmits the authorization request to the payment network, via an acquirer associated with the merchant, thereby initiating the transaction without interacting locally and/or directly with the payment device.

  • Patent number: 11455253
Abstract: An apparatus comprises first-level and second-level set-associative caches each comprising the same number of sets of cache entries. Indexing circuitry generates, based on a lookup address, a set index identifying which set of the first-level set-associative cache or the second-level set-associative cache is a selected set of cache entries to be looked up for information associated with the lookup address. The indexing circuitry generates the set index using an indexing scheme which maps the lookup address to the same set index for both the first-level set-associative cache and the second-level set-associative cache. This can make migration of cached information between the cache levels more efficient, which can be particularly useful for caches with high access frequency, such as branch target buffers for a branch predictor.
