  • Publication number: 20190267026
Abstract: Performance sensitive selection of audio signal data is disclosed. A first rank value for the processed audio signal data can be based on a level of fidelity to an input audio signal. A second rank value for the processed audio signal data can be based on a performance metric of a processing scheme for processing the input audio signal into the processed audio signal. A third rank for the processed audio signal data can be based on an indication of a level of satisfaction for performance of the processed audio signal by a receiving device. A fourth rank for the processed audio signal data can be based on a network condition for a network conveying the processed audio signal to a device for performing the processed audio signal. Selection of the processed audio signal data can be based on the first, second, third, fourth rank, or combinations thereof.

  • Patent number: 10367706
Abstract: A processor may detect an occurrence of a network anomaly from a set of network operational data collected for a portion of a communication network within a geographic area, detect an occurrence of a weather event from a set of weather data for the geographic area, and determine an occurrence of a weather-related network impairment when the occurrence of the network anomaly and the occurrence of the weather event are detected within a time period, and when the network anomaly and the weather event match a signature for the weather-related network impairment. The processor may further receive, within a time window associated with the time period, a fault report associated with a customer premises within the geographic area and provide a notification and an instruction set to resolve the weather-related network impairment, where the instruction set is stored in a solution record associated with the signature.

  • Publication number: 20190200341
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a cloud-based communication resource controller that operates by correlating communication requirements, network parameters, end-user device information for a plurality of end-user devices in accordance with the position and trajectory data for these devices to generate correlated end-user and network data. The cloud-based communication resource controller allocates communication resources of a wireless access network for communication to the plurality of end-user devices and controls beamforming by the communication nodes in accordance with the position and trajectory data.

  • Patent number: 10320082
Abstract: A high directivity slot antenna is presented herein. A method can include receiving, through an aperture of an antenna, a first electromagnetic signal away from a direct path from a source of the first electromagnetic signal to an electrical element of the antenna—the aperture corresponding to a first opening of a central chamber included between portions of radio frequency absorbent material, and the electrical element corresponding to a second opening of the central chamber. Further, the method can include absorbing the first electromagnetic signal into a first portion of the portions of radio frequency absorbent material—the first portion comprising a baffle that is adjacent to a first segment of the radio frequency absorbent material, and the baffle comprising a metallic element that alters a radio frequency propagation of the first electromagnetic signal from the central chamber into the radio frequency absorbent material.

  • Publication number: 20190173934
Abstract: In one example, the present disclosure describes a device, computer-readable medium, and method for improving media quality at the network edge by encoding the media into a digital stream that is carried, end-to-end, to a peer edge device. For instance, in one example, a method includes initiating, by a first computing device, a connection to a second computing device, selecting, by the first computing device, a codec for encoding data into a data stream, wherein the codec is selected such that the data stream can be decoded by the second computing device without being transcoded by an intermediary, encoding, by the first computing device, the data into the data stream using the codec, and sending, by the first computing device, the data stream to the second computing device.

  • Publication number: 20190174427
Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards transmitting content in a guard band (marginal/edge) spectrum, in which the power level corresponds to a frequency associated with the transmission. One or more criteria such as a desired quality of service level of the content to transmit, measured noise data and so on are used to select a guard band frequency/power level for the transmission. The content transmission within this spectrum, at a lower downlink sector power level that protects adjacent channel users, allows delivery of multicast/broadcast content to a broad population of devices in an area, for example, and frees up primary carrier channels for other communications such as voice and high speed data communications.

  • Publication number: 20190159091
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, receiving video content streams from multiple source mobile devices and identifying that the video content streams pertain to a same event. Additional aspects may include identifying end mobile devices for the video content streams and determining a portion of the end mobile devices are coupled to one communication network and another communication network. Further aspects can include identifying a predicted traffic pattern on the first communication network based on the multiple video content streams pertaining to the same event and that the portion of the multiple end mobile devices are communicatively coupled to the first communication network. Additional aspects may include transmitting a portion of the video content streams across the first communication network and transmitting another portion of the video content streams across the second communication network according to the predicted traffic pattern. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20190141409
Abstract: A method in a server for providing various Internet Protocol television signal qualities involves an IPTV signal having a first signal quality that is transmitted over a first network connection to a first device. A request to receive the IPTV signal over a second network connection at a second device with the IPTV signal having a second signal quality is received. A determination is made that the second network connection has sufficient bandwidth to transmit the IPTV signal at the second signal quality, and that the second device is capable of receiving IPTV signal. The transmission of the IPTV signal over the first network connection to the first device is ended. An endpoint for the transmission of the IPTV signal to the first device is determined. The IPTV signal is transmitted over the second network connection to the second device at the second signal quality beginning at the determined endpoint.
