Abstract: Concepts and technologies disclosed herein are for on-demand multi-screen computing. According to one aspect disclosed herein, a method for multi-screen computing includes establishing a multi-screen computing session, establishing communication with a primary computing device and an auxiliary device to be included in the multi-screen computing session, creating a web container for the auxiliary device, and propagating the web container to the auxiliary device for presentation on a display of the auxiliary device.

Abstract: A group viewing application includes a host application performed by a host device and a client application performed by a plurality of mobile devices to present program recommendations to mobile device users who have linked with a group maintained by the host application. The host device may be a set top box or smart television programmed with host application software. The host application may perform linking operations to define the group of mobile device users, recommendation operations to identify programs recommended for the group based at least in part on multimedia profile information including content preferences and viewing history information, and election operations to select one of the recommended programs for group viewing.

Abstract: A system for providing automated assistance to an agent includes a database that stores an automated assistance session in association with a client terminal. The automated assistance session comprises communications between the client terminal and an agent terminal during a communication session. The automated assistance session is restored in response to a connection being reestablished with the client terminal after the client terminal disconnects during the communication session. A client communication is received from the client terminal, and a plurality of statements is determined based on the client communication and the communications of the automated assistance session stored in the database. The statements are configured to be manually selected by an agent or automatically selected by an automated agent. The automated agent is engaged for automatically selecting one of the statements in response to a predetermined condition.

Abstract: A method includes receiving first measurement data from a first device. The first device may be a first element of a communication path. The first measurement data may correspond to a first measured parameter associated with performance of the communication path. The method further includes receiving second measurement data from a second device. The second device may be a second element of the communication path. The second measurement data may correspond to a second measured parameter (distinct from the first measured parameter) associated with performance of the communication path. The method further includes determining a first service quality index value corresponding to performance of the communication path based on the first measurement data and the second measurement data.

Abstract: Dynamic power class re-registration of wireless devices is provided. A wireless device can exchange data with a communications network. While exchanging data, the device can monitor its usage and based on the usage, generate a power change request. The device can then send the power change request to the communications network, prior to or in conjunction with powering down the device. In this regard, the communications network can receive the power change request, generate instructions for the wireless device, and adjust network resources based on the power change request. The instructions can then be sent to the wireless device. Since the device re-registers its power class with the communications network, handoffs, internetwork thresholds, network resources and other network parameters can be adjusted to compensate for the changed power class resulting into improved service for a user of the wireless device.

Abstract: Example methods and apparatus to pre-qualify user communities for communication services are disclosed. An example method comprises configuring a first remote network demarcation associated with a first loop to a loop-back state, interrogating the first loop to determine a first parameter representative of the first loop, configuring a second remote network demarcation associated with a second loop to the loop-back state, interrogating the second loop to determine a second parameter representative of the second loop, and compiling a report based on the first and second parameters, the report containing a value that represents a degree to which a communication service can be provided to a user community associated with the first and second loops.

Abstract: A particular method includes displaying a user interface for a media recorder in response to first user input. The method includes receiving a command to display recording space for the media recorder via the user interface. The method also includes sending a representation of the recording space to a display device. The representation includes a first indicator of available recording space, a second indicator of recording space used to store first media content that is deletable without additional user input when one or more conditions are met, and a third indicator of recording space used to store second media content, where an item of the second media content can only be deleted by the media recorder when the media recorder receives a user command to delete the item.

Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods are disclosed for delivering enhanced message content to subscribers and for overcoming common incompatibilities found in message delivery mechanisms. Exemplary embodiments profile an intended recipient's network capabilities, the intended recipient's device, and/or the recipient's service feature profile. This profile is leveraged to predictively and adaptively adjust the subsequent enhanced message content delivery process. Further, content modification can be applied for those cases where there is a defined mismatch that can be handled in order to facilitate delivery of the substance of the enhanced content. Finally, in cases where the content needs to be delivered intact to the intended recipient, but where the recipient network, the recipient's device and/or the recipient's service profile do not allow for delivery, the content may be delivered to an alternative device or system.

Abstract: A particular method includes receiving first data indicating a measured strength of an ambient electromagnetic signal in a particular frequency range during a particular time period and at a particular location. The method also includes receiving second data indicating a bit loading within a portion of a wireline network in the particular frequency range during the particular time period. The portion of the wireline network provides service within a service area proximate to the particular location. The method also includes determining a correlation of changes in the second data during the particular time period to changes in the first data during the particular time period. The method further includes identifying at least one issue associated with the wireline network based on the correlation.

Abstract: Receipt of a radio broadcast signal by a mobile communication device is tracked based on a signal strength measurement signal and location information. The signal strength measurement signal indicate a signal strength of the radio broadcast signal, received via a communication channel and measured at the mobile communication device, over a particular time period. The location information indicates a location of the mobile communication device within a geographic area over the particular time period. Effectiveness of the radio broadcast signal is determined with respect to receipt of the radio broadcast signal by a plurality of mobile communication devices within the geographic area over the particular time period.

Abstract: A method includes creating a first calendar event in an electronic calendar associated with a user. The first calendar event corresponds to a first viewing time and is associated with delivery of media content to a first device associated with the user. The method further includes rescheduling the first calendar event in response to determining that a scheduling conflict exists between the first calendar event and a second calendar event. Rescheduling the first calendar event includes modifying the first calendar event to correspond to a second viewing time and determining, based on the second viewing time, a second device to deliver the media content to. The second device is associated with the user.

The processor may be programmed to receive the service provider data from a plurality of service provider terminals, receive the service request data from at least one remote terminal, store the service provider data and the service request data in the storage device, and facilitate communication between the first service provider terminal and the customer terminal to address the at least one service issue. The computer readable mediums provide instructions to cause the processor to perform the operations above.

Abstract: Devices, systems and methods are disclosed which relate to mobile communication device users sharing their subscribed network services with other mobile communication device users. A borrowing mobile communication device is provided with the ability to remotely connect to a lending mobile communication device and use the subscribed network services of the lending mobile communication device when needed. This method allows the user of the lending mobile communication device to share subscribed network services. Besides using network services, it is possible to share displays between two mobile communication devices. A user of a lending mobile communication device shares the current display with a borrowing mobile communication device and vice-versa. This allows sharing among people who are not family members. Any registered user may subscribe to this network service sharing service and create a peer network. Users have the option to turn sharing on or off in the lending preferences.

Abstract: An architecture can dynamically update or set facility variables for adapting cell site (e.g., base station) characteristics in a wireless communication network. In particular, based upon a current configuration or state of facility equipment as well as various operation data, the architecture can determine or infer a reconfiguration of a facility variable that can adjust the configuration or state of the facility equipment. The reconfiguration can be directed to improving efficiency, mitigating errors, and/or more effectively providing services and allocating resources.

Abstract: A method includes receiving, at an electronic device, a first input from a user identifying a program and a viewing time and creating a first calendar event corresponding to the viewing time in an electronic calendar associated with the user. The method also includes determining a first device to deliver the program to, where the first device is associated with the user. The determination is based on the viewing time and a second calendar event in the electronic calendar. Further, the method includes delivering the program to the first device.

Abstract: A method, system and machine-readable storage device to manage network capacity are provided. In accordance with the method, simulation data is received periodically according to a metric based on data associated with a plurality of communication links interconnecting endpoints. Specially, the simulation data is received according to a periodicity adjusted selectively based on an interval of time between a current date and time and a date and time that a communication link is to be taken offline. The simulation data indicates impact of the communication link to be taken offline on a plurality of alternate communication links. Thereafter, load is moved selectively from the communication link to be taken offline to an alternate communication link of the plurality of alternate communication links based on whether the simulation data associated with the alternate communication link satisfies a predetermined criterion.
