  • Publication number: 20070184802
Abstract: A system and method for wireless communication. The system can include a transmitter that transmits a data signal having a time period without data transmission. The system can also include a receiver including a first antenna, a second antenna, a switch that activates one of the first antenna and the second antenna, and a processor that estimates a first signal-to-noise ratio for the first antenna and a second signal-to-noise ratio for the second antenna during the time period without data transmission. The processor can control the switch to select one of the first antenna and the second antenna based on a comparison between the first signal-to-noise ratio and the second signal-to-noise ratio.

  • Patent number: 7225374
Abstract: An apparatus, program product and method utilize an ABIST circuit provided on an integrated circuit device to assist in the identification and location of defects in a scan chain that is also provided on the integrated circuit device. In particular, a defect in a scan chain may be detected by applying a plurality of pattern sets to a scan chain coupled to an ABIST circuit, collecting scan out data generated as a result of the application of the plurality of pattern sets to the scan chain, and using the collected scan out data to identify a defective latch in the scan chain.

  • Publication number: 20060139349
Abstract: Embodiments provide for ray tracing traversal that relies on selected geometrical properties of the application to reduce the number of operations required during each traversal step. The traversal algorithm does not depend on the number of rays in the group. As a result, multi-level traversal schemes may be implemented, starting with a large number of rays in a group and then reducing it as needed to maintain group coherency. Multi-level traversal schemes may be created by splitting large groups of rays while traversing acceleration structures.

  • Publication number: 20060030682
Abstract: A no flow fluxing underfill having a hardener component comprising a phenolic component and an anhydride component in a molar ratio of phenolic component to anhydride component of between about 0.1:1 and about 2:1; or between about 0.8:1 and about 1.2:1. An underfill preparation method involving blending an epoxy component and a phenolic component, heating the blend, and cooling the blend, prior to incorporation of an anhydride component.

  • Publication number: 20050218195
Abstract: The invention is directed to a fluxing curative for curing an underfill that comprises an epoxy resin and for fluxing a solder during a solder assembly of an electronic component to an electronic device substrate and a method for producing the fluxing curative. Specifically, the fluxing curative comprises a salt that is a reaction product of an imidazole component and a carboxylic acid component having at least 10 carbon atoms per molecule. Additionally, the invention is directed to an underfill solution comprising the fluxing curative and a method of attaching an integrated circuit device using the underfill solution.

  • Patent number: 5948260
Abstract: A process for treatment and disposal of wastewater having dissolved perchlorate salts is described and includes the steps of adding to the wastewater in a hydrogen gaslift recycle reactor a mixed bacterial culture containing the specific bacterium HAP1 for reducing the perchlorate ion to chloride in the wastewater; maintaining proper nutrient and environmental conditions for HAP1 to optimally reduce perchlorate in the wastewater; and discharging effluent wastewater from the gaslift reactor to an aerobic reactor and maintaining proper nutrient and environmental conditions for the optimal conversion of soluble organics to carbon dioxide and sludge.

  • Patent number: 5659009
Abstract: In a process for producing filler-containing thermoplastic molding compositions by mixing fillers with thermoplastics in the melt,a) the fillers are mixed in a mixing apparatus in the melt with a low molecular weight thermoplastic having a melt viscosity of at most 30 Pas (measured at 20.degree. C. above the melting point of the thermoplastic compound and at a shear gradient of 1,000 s.sup.-1),b) the product thus obtained is removed from the mixing apparatus, cooled and comminuted, andc) the comminuted product is then subjected in the solid phase to a post-condensation.
