Abstract: The physical connection corresponding to IP tunnels in a network are found by tracing through the device configuration and routing tables at the routers in the network to determine the outbound interface associated with each tunnel endpoint, and then inferring a likely return interface associated with the opposite tunnel endpoint. Having determined the physical devices at the source and destination of each tunnel, the physical path between these source and destination devices is traced from the source toward the destination until the path is terminated at the destination device, or at an interface to an external network. If the path ends at an external network, the path is traced from the destination device toward the source device until a corresponding interface to the external network is reached.

Abstract: A method, system, and program for allowing callers to adjust in position within a hold queue are provided. An advancement token earned by a caller while waiting in a hold queue is detected. The advancement token is stored for redemption in a future call by the caller according to an authenticated identifier for the caller, wherein future redemption of the advancement token will cause adjustment of a waiting position. In particular, a caller in the call hold queue may earn advancement tokens by answering questions posed by other callers in the call hold queue, where the questions are answered in a manner such that the other callers do not need additional aid from a representative. In addition, a caller may redeem advancement tokens earned in a previous hold queue while waiting in current hold queue, where the redeemable advancement tokens are accessible across multiple call centers according to the caller identification.

Abstract: The connectivity information provided by a variety of inference engines is integrated to provide a set of inferred links within a network. A consolidation is performed among inference engines that operate at a base level of connectivity detail to create a model of the network at this base level. The connectivity information provided by inference engines at each subsequent higher level of connectivity abstraction is then overlaid on the base level connectivity. By separately consolidating the connectivity information at each level of abstraction, the rules for dealing with conflicts can be simplified and/or better focused to resolve the conflict. By assuming that the more detailed lower level information is likely to be more accurate, rules can be developed to modify the connectivity models produced by the higher level techniques to conform to the lower level connectivity details while still maintaining the integrity of the higher level connectivity models.

Abstract: A destination telephony device, responsive to detecting a call between a caller at an origin telephony device and a callee at the destination telephony device within a trusted telephone network, authenticates an identity of the callee with a callee voice authenticated identifier through a voice sample provided by the callee during the call. The destination telephony device receives an order form from the origin device for an order placed with the caller by the callee from the destination telephony device. The destination telephony device controls output of the order form from at least one output interface of the destination telephony device.

Abstract: A package for dispensing a substance is described, where the package includes a stiff sheet that has a score formed on and traversing the first surface. The package also includes a flexible sheet defining a cavity for receiving the substance between the stiff sheet and the flexible sheet. The package also includes an applicator having a porous material pad, where the applicator is attached to the stiff sheet over the score by two hinges. The stiff sheet is configured to be folded about the score to cause the substance to be expelled from the cavity through a metering hole into the porous material pad and the two hinges allow the porous material pad to remain generally flat as the stiff sheet is folded.

Abstract: Systems and methods for generating and using negotiable instrument are described. A request from a user to generate a negotiable instrument financially secured by a financial entity against an account of the user is received, and the user is authenticated to the account of the user with the financial entity. Upon authenticating the user to the account, data representative of the negotiable instrument financially secured by the financial entity against the account of the user is transmitted. The data may include a printable image and barcode for scanning by a second computing device of the financial entity. The transmitted data representative of the negotiable instrument may be received by a computing device. The computing device may output the data representative of the negotiable instrument to a printer for local generation of the negotiable instrument on the printer without the need for special inks and/or other data.

Abstract: Systems and methods for generating and using a cash value debit card are described. A request from a user to add value to a cash value debit card account financially secured by a financial entity against an account of the user may be received. The user may be authenticated to the account of the user with the financial entity. Monetary funds may be debited from the account of the user by an amount to add to the cash value debit card account, and the debited amount may be added to the cash value debit card account. A request to withdraw monetary funds from the cash value debit card account may be received. A determination may be made as to whether to authorize the withdrawal from the cash value debit card account. The withdrawal may be authorized, and the cash value debit card account may be debited accordingly.

Abstract: A network is partitioned into a set of independent partitions, and the topology of each partition is determined, then merged to form a topology of the entire network. Preferably, the partitioning is hierarchical, wherein the network is partitioned to form individual VLAN partitions, and each of the VLAN partitions is further partitioned based on the nodes that are simply connected to each port of one or more selected root switches within the VLAN partition. Simple connections to each port are efficiently determined based on an aggregate address forwarding table associated with each node. Ancillary information, such as spanning tree or CDP data, may be used to facilitate efficient partitioning and/or to validate inferences that are made with incomplete information.

Abstract: A machine includes card stores to store information cards. For each card store, one or more card selectors can be provided. When performing a transaction involving information cards, a generic card selector, using a selector policy engine, can identify a card selector to use for the transaction. The identified card selector can be used to identify an information card in a card store to use in performing the transaction, which can be used to provide a security token to the relying party.

Abstract: When a user connects a pluggable card store to a machine, the machine plugs a pluggable card provider into a card provider registry. The pluggable card store can be an object portable to the user, or can be a remote store available via some connection, such as an FTP connection. The user can then use the information cards stored on the pluggable card store in a transaction.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate to systems, methods, and computer program products for client/customer-centric macro (e.g., business-wide) monitoring of business performance and determination of business-wide customer impact trends associated with the client's/customer's composite relationship with the business. Additionally, embodiments provide for determining customer impact trends at other levels of the business relationship, such as at business unit/line of business levels, product/service levels and the like. Based on the determined customer impact trends, further determinations may be made regarding whether alerts are warranted based on the trends, and generating and communicating the alerts if warranted. Determining business-wide customer impact trends provides for the business to identify problems or potential problems that may adversely impact the global relationship between the overall client entity and the business implementing the performance monitoring system.

Abstract: A bridge for linking a first communications network to a second communications network is taught. The bridge comprises a first bridge module linked to the first communications network and a second bridge module linked to the second communications network. The first bridge module is linked to the second bridge module by only an analog audio link and a General Purpose Input Output call negotiation signalling link such that generic digital data cannot effectively pass between the first communications network and the second communications network through the bridge elements. There is also provided a network terminal for connection to a network connected to the bridge and communications system comprising the bridge and first communications network.

The origin device is associated with a line number to be billed for according to a line subscriber billing plan. An identity of a caller requesting the service from the origin device is authenticated. Then, a billing plan associated with the authenticated caller identity is accessed and utilized to replace or supplement the line subscriber billing plan, such that billing for service provided at an origin device is specified according to the caller currently utilizing the origin device.

In some embodiments, the predefined community is defined by a particular geographic area. In other embodiments, the predefined community is created by the consumers themselves.
