  • Patent number: 10158389
Abstract: A method of processing interference received in a wireless network, the interference comprising a non-linear product of at least one downlink signal of the wireless network, is provided. The method includes intercepting a plurality of optical links, each optical link being between a respective baseband processing unit of a plurality of baseband processing units and a respective radio head of a plurality of radio heads, to provide a plurality of downlink and uplink data streams. The method includes detecting interference in an uplink data stream representing signals received at a first uplink carrier frequency caused by non-linear products of at least a signal at a first downlink carrier frequency represented by a downlink data stream. The method includes generating an indication comprising information relating to an uplink carrier frequency experiencing interference and at least one downlink carrier frequency causing interference.

  • Patent number: 10146454
Abstract: A method is provided for performance by an I/O Coordination module of a computing device operating as a data storage system in order to obtain and process physical extent mappings in the context of an XCOPY Lite or XCOPY type operation. The method involves breaking down the source region into physical source extents with reference to a container filesystem representing the logical volume of the source as a file. The I/O Coordination module is then able to separately process each of these physical source extents and also obtain its corresponding physical destination extents with reference to the container filesystem, which also represents the logical volume of the destination as a file. The I/O Coordination module is then able to cause integrated copy commands to be issued to an underlying physical storage driver. An apparatus, system, and computer program product for performing a similar method are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20180315127
Abstract: A mobile application for purchasing vehicular insurance without the need for manual data entry via a mobile device keyboard is disclosed. The mobile application is configured to image driver's licenses and vehicle barcodes to collect relevant driver and vehicular information. Other relevant data is either collected from correlated third-party databases or user input via voice recognition or user-friendly graphical user interface screens. Collected information is transmitted to one or more insurers and one or more quotes are displayed for consideration by the applicant. The mobile application may further comprise payment services and insurance agency point of sale services. The mobile application further provides an interactive digital insurance identification card to serve as a platform and dashboard for readily accessing services associated with the insurance policy, particularly when in an accident, when roadside services are required, and when a lower cost updated policy is available to the insured party.

  • Patent number: 10048392
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable mediums are provided that determine the angular orientation of detectors and detector electronic assemblies (“DEAs”). In various embodiments, the orientation of detectors/DEAs (in the ring) is determined with respect to other detectors/DEAs in the ring, the orientation of the detectors/DEAs with respect to a patient bed, or the orientation of the detectors/DEAs with respect to Earth's gravitational field. In another embodiment, a nuclear medical imaging system has one or more detector units arranged around or that can be swept around a patient bed. Each of the detector units includes an angular orientation-sensing accelerometer. By determining angular orientation of the detector from signals outputted by the accelerometer, the circumferential position of the detector relative to the patient bed can be determined. That information is used in conjunction with information about detected events to construct an image of an organ or tissue mass of interest.

  • Publication number: 20180112468
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed to overcome problem that are encountered when using coiled-tubing to deploy radial drilling tools in certain wells. In addition, this disclosure provides means and tools by which radial drilling tools can be conveyed and powered by slickline or e-line. To advance the radial drilling tools and/or to apply and control weight on bit (WOB), a chamber is created and is then pressurized to generate a piston-affect. Furthermore, tools and methods are provided to monitor the radial drilling tools' operations and to convey this information to surface personnel. In addition, because the e-line, slickline and certain coiled-tubing strings lack adequate torsional stiffness, torque arresting mechanisms are disclosed. This disclosure further provides for a “zero-discharge drilling” system, a “drill-by-wire” system, and enables radial drilling solutions in horizontal wells using coiled-tubing, e-line or slickline.

  • Publication number: 20180073528
Abstract: A clamp for mounting a structure on a support. The clamp includes a fixed jaw, a base, and a moveable thruster plate between the fixed jaw and the base. The clamp includes a thruster cylinder configured to be rotateably received through the clamp body and having threads that engage a screw so that when the thruster cylinder rotates, the screw is advanced or retracted to move the thruster plate into and out of engagement with the support. A knob is used to rotate the thruster cylinder. The base includes an annular opening for storing a spring and receiving the screw and the thruster cylinder. The clamp is configured so that when the thruster plate engages the support, further axial movement of the screw is prevented and further rotation of the knob and thruster cylinder compresses the spring thereby causing the thruster plate to apply additional force to the support.

  • Patent number: 9878100
Abstract: A medicated module (4) for an injection system to co-deliver at least two medicaments is disclosed where a primary delivery device containing a primary medicament accepts a medicated module (4) containing a single dose of a secondary medicament and where both medicaments are delivered through a hollow needle (3). The medicated module (4) does not require the user to manually engage a reservoir (22) containing the secondary medicament. Instead, a biasing member (48) automatically activates the reservoir (22) when the needle guard (42) is retracted. The needle guard (42) prevents accidental needle sticks before and after an injection, and locks after dose delivery.

  • Publication number: 20170289816
Abstract: The capacity of a cellular wireless system is increased by operation of base stations or base station sectors arranged to re-use radio resource elements that are used by neighbouring base stations or base station sectors, in conjunction with operation of relay stations, which are similarly arranged to re-use radio resource elements used by neighbouring relay stations, and where the radio resource elements re-used by the relay stations are different to those used by the base stations. The relay stations provide coverage, particularly in the areas at the boundaries between the areas of coverage of base stations that suffer from interference between signals transmitted from the respective base stations. In addition, the relay stations generally increase the average available carrier to interference ratio compared with a system in which base stations alone are deployed.

  • Patent number: 9769324
Abstract: A method, system, and program for billing for service provided to destination device according to the calling plan of the individual receiving the call. An authenticated identity for a callee answering a call placed to a destination device is received at an intermediary device. The intermediary device then accesses a billing plan for the authenticated identity of the callee and loads the billing plan for specifying charges for the call, such that telephone service billed to the callee is accessible at multiple destination devices.

  • Publication number: 20170249864
Abstract: An assembly for demonstrating sound transmission properties includes a base portion and a tray portion partially defining a transmission aperture is removably inserted into a portion of the base portion. A first sound-reducing tile having a first sound transmission property is placed in the tray portion and a sound generating device disposed in an interior volume of the base portion emits sound that is attenuated by the first sound-reducing tile as the sound exits the transmission aperture. A second sound-reducing tile having a second sound transmission property is placed in the tray portion and the sound generating device disposed in the interior volume of the base portion emits sound that is attenuated by the second sound-reducing tile as the sound exits the transmission aperture. A sound measuring device disposed outside the interior volume device can compare the first and second sound transmission properties.

  • Patent number: 9729426
Abstract: A method and system that takes advantage of processes that are efficient for determining the topology of small to medium size networks to determine individual network topologies for such networks, and then merges these individual topologies into a consolidated topology for the entire network. Each of the processes that determines the topology of the smaller networks provides the determined network topology, as well as a list of factors that may be relevant in the determination of how the given topology might be attached to any other given topology, such as the identification of a node that is not included in the given topology, or other indications of external connections. The merging process is configured to substantially restrict its analysis to these factors, thereby limiting the extent, and therefore the time consumed, by this stitching and merging process.
