  • Publication number: 20230394706
Abstract: Performance metrics for an imaging system are assessed in the field, without the need for carefully-controlled conditions, such as lighting. In some embodiments, a hand-held test target is used to measure MTF, and to identify any undesired noise-reduction operation applied by an image signal processor. A metric-based heuristic enables prediction of whether an imaging system will be suitable to detect and decode a digital watermark signal of a particular resolution. A variety of other features and arrangements are also detailed.

  • Patent number: 11807259
Abstract: According to one aspect, a vehicle includes hardware systems configured to support the autonomous or semi-autonomous operation of the vehicle. Hardware systems may include a main compute, a brain stem computer (BSC), and an aggregator/compute arrangement or redundant autonomy compute. Such hardware systems may cooperate to allow the vehicle to operate autonomously, and typically provide capabilities, e.g., redundant and/or backup capabilities, configured to enable the vehicle to continue to operate in the event that a primary system is not functioning as expected. The aggregator/compute arrangement may further be comprised of two substantially identical modules or computing assemblies, each configured to process sensor data and perform backup autonomy functionalities and/or teleoperations functionalities.

  • Patent number: 11802771
Abstract: This document describes techniques, apparatuses, and systems for standard-definition (SD) to high-definition (HD) navigation route determination. An example route builder receives a navigation route generated for a host vehicle. The navigation route includes a list of waypoints generated by an SD map database. The route builder matches the list of waypoints to lane geometry data maintained in an HD map database and outputs HD navigation route to a vehicle controller. The HD navigation route includes the list of waypoints, additional waypoints, and lane geometry data. The vehicle controller can then operate the host vehicle in a roadway environment along the HD navigation route. In this way, the described techniques and systems can provide HD navigation routes required by some assisted-driving and autonomous-driving systems based on SD navigation routes.

  • Patent number: 11796325
Abstract: This document describes vehicle localization using map and vision data. For example, this document describes a localization system that obtains a map centerline point and a vision centerline point of a lane of a roadway. The localization system also obtains the position of the vehicle. The localization system can then compare the map centerline point and the vision centerline point to generate a lateral and a longitudinal correction relative to the vehicle's position. The lateral and longitudinal corrections are used to generate a corrected position. In this way, the described localization system can provide accurate vehicle localization that addresses potential drift caused by lapsed or inaccurate positioning data and allows for the operation of assisted-driving and autonomous-driving systems at higher speeds and on roadways with tighter curves.

  • Patent number: 11768265
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for harmonizing diffusion tensor images. One of the methods includes obtaining a diffusion tensor image; determining a set of RISH features for the diffusion tensor image; processing a model input generated from the set of RISH features using a machine learning model to generate a model output identifying an image transformation from a set of image transformations, wherein each image transformation in the set of image transformations corresponds to a respective different first MRI scanner and represents a transformation that, when applied to first diffusion tensor images captured by the first MRI scanner, harmonizes the first diffusion tensor images with second diffusion tensor images captured by a reference MRI scanner; and processing the diffusion tensor image using the identified image transformation to generate a harmonized diffusion tensor image.

  • Patent number: 11754666
Abstract: Methods and systems are described that enable radar detection prioritization based on downstream feedback. As a vehicle is traveling in a travel corridor, radar detections are received by a processor and feedback related to a downstream function is received from another processor that is executing the downstream function. For the radar detections that are determined to be within the travel corridor, respective priorities are assigned based on locations of the radar detections and the feedback related to the downstream function. The radar detections with the assigned priorities are then stored in a detection buffer along with indications of their respective assigned priorities. In this way, the detection buffer may be optimized for the downstream function by filtering out certain detections and prioritizing others. Consequently, computational loads on the downstream function are reduced while ensuring that important detections are received by the downstream function early.

  • Patent number: 11756200
Abstract: A pre-event connectome of a subject brain is accessed, the pre-event connectome defining i) first functional nodes in the subject brain and ii) first edges that represent connections between the first functional nodes before the subject has undergone an event. A post-event connectome of the subject brain is accessed, the post-event connectome defining i) second functional nodes in the subject brain and ii) second edges that represent connections between the second functional nodes after the subject has undergone the event. A connectome-difference map data is generated that records the difference between the pre-event connectome and the post-event connectome. An action is taken based on the connectome-difference map data.

  • Publication number: 20230269215
Abstract: Techniques are described for learning an unknown virtual network information, such as an virtual Internet Protocol (IP) address, of a pod in a virtual network. In some examples, a virtual router executing at a computing device may receive an Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) packet from a virtual execution element in the virtual network, the virtual execution element executing at the computing device. The virtual router may determine, based at least in part on the ARP packet, whether virtual network information for the virtual execution element in a virtual network is known to the virtual router. The virtual router may, in response to determining that the virtual network information of the virtual execution element in the virtual network is not known to the virtual router, perform learning of the virtual network information for the virtual execution element.
