  • Publication number: 20180232770
Abstract: A billboard display system selectively displays advertising to occupants in one or more vehicles approaching a billboard display located near a roadway. The billboard display system receives each of: a number of occupants, demographic information for occupants, and vehicle position information from interior occupant sensing systems of one or more vehicles approaching the billboard display. A display controller of the billboard display system processes the demographic information and number of occupants to determine advertising relevant to occupants, and selectively displays relevant advertising with the billboard display to occupants of approaching vehicles.

  • Publication number: 20180231979
Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling use of an autonomous vehicle includes an interior occupant sensing system to obtain data of occupants from a video camera. An occupant sensing controller is configured to receive the video and detect a number of faces of occupants disposed in the vehicle. Further, the occupant sensing controller determines demographic information from the video data of each of the detected faces and then stores the vehicle location, the number of faces, and the demographic information for occupants as data in the vehicle. The occupant sensing controller determines from the demographic information an age of occupants in the autonomous vehicle, and when the demographic information indicates that all occupants in the autonomous vehicle are less than a certain age, limits travel to a destination or operation of the autonomous vehicle in response to age.

  • Patent number: 10025839
Abstract: Frame data is received from an agent instrumented on a software component, the frame data describing a particular request from the software component to a database access component intercepted at the agent. The particular request corresponds to a transaction involving a database and the software component can interface with the database using the database access component. A service mode is identified that corresponds to the transaction and virtualization data is generated based on the service model and the particular request. The virtualization data is sent to the agent that describes a virtualized response to be provided by the agent to the software component as a response to the particular request.

  • Publication number: 20180182491
Abstract: Systems and methods disclosed provide ways for Health Care Professionals (HCPs) to be involved in initial patient system set up so that the data received is truly transformative, such that the patient not just understands what all the various numbers mean but also how the data can be used. For example, in one implementation, a CGM device is configured for use by a HCP, and includes a housing and a circuit configured to receive a signal from a transmitter coupled to an indwelling glucose sensor. A calibration module converts the received signal into clinical units. A user interface is provided that is configured to display a measured glucose concentration in the clinical units. The user interface is further configured to receive input data about a patient level, where the input data about the patient level causes the device to operate in a mode appropriate to the patient level.

  • Patent number: 9967204
Abstract: In a networked storage system, a request for placing a workload for is received by a management console that determines a plurality of subset of resources for responding to the workload. Each subset of resources includes at least two different but related resource types that can be used for processing the workload. A penalty index for each subset of resources is then determined. The penalty index of each resource is based on a supply parameter that indicates a maximum capability of the resource, a threshold value that indicates a capability level beyond which no load is added to the resource and a criticality factor that indicates an importance of each resource to the networked storage system. The workload is then assigned to a subset of resources with the least penalty index.

  • Patent number: 9951516
Abstract: The subject apparatus is designed to facilitate the installation of blown insulation during construction of building assemblies. In a typical embodiment, there is provide a length or strip of friction clip configured to provide a tight grip along the outer surface of a framing member such as a stud, thereby maintaining tension on a masking film or web thereby affixed to an array of studs. The masking film arrayed in such manner thereby defines a plurality of voids or cavities which may thereafter be filled with blown insulation and then finished with wall paneling. The friction clips are designed to complement conventional framing members. Thus, one embodiment described below is suitable for a solid stud such as lumber or polymer; other embodiments are designed to be affixed to steel light framing members such as C-studs and similar profiles.
