  • Patent number: 11221660
Abstract: An example power supply for supplying electrical power to an electronic device includes converters to convert an input power signal into an output power signal, and a controller. The controller is to periodically measure an input current being drawn from the input power signal, periodically determine a moving average of the input current, and periodically compare the moving average of the input current to the present input current. The controller identifies that a fault may have occurred in response to the present input current exceeding the moving average by a threshold amount. The controller shuts down supply of power to the electronic device responsive to identifying the fault.

  • Publication number: 20210351388
Abstract: Shadow masks comprising a multi-layer membrane having a mechanical pre-bias that compensates the effect of gravity on the membrane are disclosed. A shadow mask in accordance with the present disclosure includes a membrane that is patterned with a desired pattern of apertures. The layers of the membrane are selected such that their residual stresses collectively give rise to a stress gradient that is directed normal to the plane of the membrane such that the stress gradient mitigates gravity-induced sag. In some embodiments, the membrane includes a layer pair having internal stresses that are of opposite signs to effect a tendency to bulge outward from the plane of the membrane prior to its release from the substrate. An exemplary membrane includes a layer pair comprising a layer of stoichiometric silicon dioxide that is under residual compressive stress and a layer of stoichiometric silicon nitride that is under residual tensile stress.

  • Publication number: 20210209116
Abstract: Presently disclosed are systems and methods for generating customized filtered-and-partitioned market-data feeds. In an embodiment, an output-feed profile is maintained in data storage at a market-data-processing device (MDPD). The output-feed profile specifies a subset of ticker symbols and a ticker-symbol-based feed-partitioning scheme. An input feed of order-book updates to ticker symbols is received at the MDPD from an upstream device. At the MDPD, a customized market-data output feed is generated according to the maintained output-feed profile at least in part by filtering the input feed down to the order-book updates to ticker symbols in the specified subset and partitioning the filtered feed according to the specified ticker-symbol-based feed-partitioning scheme. The customized market-data output feed is transmitted from the MDPD to a downstream device.

  • Patent number: 11055292
Abstract: A market data processing device (MDPD) receives, from an upstream device, an input feed of order-book updates to ticker symbols. A first market-data feed is generated at the MDPD at least in part by: filtering the input feed down to order-book updates to a ticker-symbol subset; and inserting a sequence number into each such order-book update. Also generated at the MDPD is a second market-data feed that includes the order-book updates of the first market-data feed having the same sequence numbers inserted into the same order-book updates. The first market-data feed is transmitted to an arbitration device via a first communication path. The second market-data feed is transmitted to the arbitration device via a second communication path that is separate and distinct from the first communication path for use by the arbitration device in conducting sequence-number-based arbitration between the first and second market-data feeds.

  • Publication number: 20210182096
Abstract: A controller of a quantum system identifies a phase update trigger for a quantum object of the quantum system and an interaction time. Responsive to identifying the phase update trigger, the controller determines, for between a first time and the interaction time, (a) a location/transport effect on a phase of the quantum object based on locations thereof and transport operations performed thereon, and (b) a quantum operation effect on the phase of the quantum object based on any quantum operations applied thereto. The immediately previous phase update for the quantum object occurred at the first time. Based on the location/transport effect, the quantum operation effect, and the interaction time, the controller determines an interaction time phase of the quantum object. The controller adjusts operation of a manipulation source such that a phase of a signal generated by the manipulation source corresponds to the interaction time phase at the interaction time.

  • Patent number: 11028942
Abstract: A fluid control valve includes first and second valves. The first valve is adjustable under the control of a first valve actuator between a closed position in which flow of fluid through the first valve is prevented and an open position in which flow of fluid through the first valve is permitted. The second valve comprises a second valve actuator adapted such that the first valve actuator bears against the second valve actuator in each of said first and second positions to urge the second valve into an open configuration allowing flow of fluid. The first valve actuator is adjustable to a third position in which the first valve actuator is spaced from the second valve actuator by a separation sufficient to allow fluid pressure at the inlet to cause the second valve to close, preventing flow of fluid through the fluid control valve.

  • Publication number: 20210126857
Abstract: A digital crosspoint switch of a network switching system (NSS) replicates input data received via a first network interface to a first data processing port of a data processing card. The input data includes a digital market data feed comprising market-data packets. The crosspoint switch has internal crosspoint ports and external crosspoint ports. The data processing card includes a programmable logic device and a plurality of data processing ports connected to the internal crosspoint ports. The NSS includes a plurality of network interfaces connected to the external crosspoint ports. The data processing card processes the input data and generates processed data on the second data processing port at least in part by only including market-data packets that meet a first predetermined filtering criterion in the processed data. The crosspoint switch replicates the processed data from the second data processing port to the second network interface.

  • Patent number: 10964180
Abstract: Software intrusion protection systems to prevent remote access to sensitive data are very prevalent. In some cases, additional physical access protection may also be desired. By preventing physical access to a system an intruder may not be able to physically “steal” component parts of the system and then obtain their contents (or design criteria) at a remote site (e.g., after the physical theft). Monitors are provided to detect potential access to a secure computer system and identify if inappropriate access to the secure computer system is obtained (or is imminent). In a case where unauthorized access is predicted, warnings and alerts may be sent prior to an actual breach. Upon determination that a breach may be likely to occur, techniques to protect data (e.g., erasure, destruction, etc.) and component parts may be initiated. Sensors monitor internal and external physical environmental conditions to assist in detection of intrusion.
