  • Patent number: 10778846
Abstract: Techniques are described for forecasting and dynamic routing of incoming routing service requests in a service environment that includes one or more call centers. Implementations apply a doubly stochastic modeling technique to modeling call volumes, call wait times, calling handling times, and/or other parameters in a service environment that includes one or more call centers that include multiple skill codes for the service representatives. By simultaneously modeling on different time scales, such as modeling both inter-day and intra-day correlations, implementations are able to provide an analysis that exploits more of the structure in the data compared to traditional techniques. Implementations can also integrate in other types of time series for other effects that may impact the call volume or other parameters in a service environment, such as exogenous and/or anomalous variables that are independent of other inter-day and/or intra-day trends exhibited in the data.

  • Patent number: 10741489
Abstract: A rectangular via extending between interconnects in different metallization levels can have a planform with a width equal to the width of the interconnects and a length equal to twice the width and can be aligned along a long dimension with a length of the upper interconnect. In an integrated circuit layout, the planform can be centered over the width of the lower interconnect, allowing for misalignment during fabrication while maintaining a robust electrical connection. The bottom of the via may be aligned with an upper surface of the lower interconnect or may include portions below the lower interconnect's upper surface. Fewer adjacent routing tracks are blocked by use of the rectangular via than would be blocked using redundant square vias, while ensuring reliability of the electrical connection despite potential misalignment during fabrication.

  • Publication number: 20200171310
Abstract: The vagus nerve and branches of the vagus nerve are stimulated below the laryngeal nerve branch bifurcation in order to induce desired parasympathetic responses, such as decreased heart rate, without also triggering any adverse sympathetic responses. Stimulating surfaces of an open field bipolar electrode are positioned on or inserted through the pleural membrane overlying the vagus nerve at a location having substantially no cardiac sympathetic fibers adjacent to the vagus nerve. The open field bipolar electrodes can be securable-wire, needle, plate, or any other type of electrode suitable for being secured to the pleural membrane using one or more fastening mechanisms. Electrical stimuli are generated by a stimulator connected to the stimulating surfaces of the open field bipolar electrode by one or more leads.

  • Patent number: 10518830
Abstract: A climbing vehicle with wheel or endless-track type propulsion using suction for generating adhering forces is adapted to climbing non-planar surfaces such as intersecting walls, pipes or other structural members. The suction chamber is relatively fixed to the vehicle chassis and moves with the vehicle chassis. A seal is created around the suction chamber through an adaptive sealing mechanism. The adaptive sealing mechanism consists of a series of links that adapt to the climbing surface geometry and forms a seal at the climbing surface. The links in the adaptive sealing mechanism span a portion of the suction chamber along the longitudinal sides of the vehicle and are elastically sprung to maintain contact with the surface. The adaptive sealing mechanism links also span the lateral sides of the vehicle to fully enclose the suction chamber.

  • Patent number: 10446384
Abstract: A quadrupole is filled with ions and the ions are cooled by applying a pressure and gas flow within the quadrupole. Ions are trapped in the quadrupole by applying a DC voltage and an RF voltage to quadrupole rods of the quadrupole, one or more DC voltages to a plurality of auxiliary electrodes of the quadrupole, and a DC voltage and an RF voltage to an exit lens at the end of the quadrupole. The ions are coherently oscillated after the filling and cooling by applying a coherent excitation between at least two rods of the quadrupole rods. The coherently oscillating ions are axially ejected through the exit lens and to a destructive detector for detection by changing one or more voltages of the one or more DC voltages of the plurality of auxiliary electrodes and changing the DC voltage of the exit lens.

  • Patent number: 10232896
Abstract: A tracked climbing vehicle containing a compliant suspension apparatus to prescribe the distribution of forces on the adhering members in the tracked climbing machine. The compliant suspension apparatus is configured to negotiate irregularities in a climbing-surface without the vehicle tracks losing full surface contact and adhesion by distributing the loads from the climbing machine chassis to the adhering traction members in a specific prescribed fashion. The apparatus thus avoids exceeding the allowable force in any adhering traction member and significantly improves the performance of the climbing machine.
