  • Patent number: 7760941
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of segmenting an object in a data set, wherein the object is initially segmented resulting in a first set (N0) of voxels. An erosion operation is performed on the first set (N0) of voxels resulting in an eroded set (N?) of voxels. • Patent number: 7047247
Abstract: In methods for encoding and decoding objects with reference to a traffic route network, wherein the encoded information can also be decoded with the aid of databases that differ from a database used in the encoding, the objects are provided with relationships to at least one relational object which is present in databases that are used for the decoding, and the relationships do not primarily result from the traffic route network. A position indication can also be provided with a position type designator, which for instance indicates whether the transmitted position is an exact or navigable position or is the location of a search space.

  • Publication number: 20050121035
Abstract: A oxygen system includes a casing (1) that houses a valve seat (4) with an air inlet duct (6) arranged in axial direction, a shutting part (7) associated with the air inlet duct at the valve outlet, and a driving motor (8). A pressure sensor (15) for measuring the pressure in the respective phase of breathing is located in a measuring chamber (2) connecting the air inlet duct and the air outlet duct (3) that is formed in the casing and can be connected to a respirator mask. The pressure conditions prevailing during inhalation and exhalation control the drive motor that is connected by a controller to the shutting part of the valve unit, and regulate the air supply to the respirator mask. In addition to the air control that exactly matches respiration, the device is small and compact, requires few mechanical components, and is resistant to impact stress.

  • Publication number: 20040019549
Abstract: By analyzing the real-time order flow sent to electronic trading systems such as NASDAQ or individual ECNs and by analyzing the resulting price of the matched execution of buy and sell orders, very accurate lag-free indicators that show the true forces behind the normally considered random intraday price movements of the stock market can be created. These indicators, combined with the stock prices, show how overvalued or undervalued individual stocks or the whole market is compared to what the consensus price should be, based on the actual order flow. This enables traders to take advantage of intraday market price fluctuations of up to 2-4% and, up to hours in advance, to know when a current price move in the market is false and when it is very likely to reverse direction.

  • Patent number: 6633812
Abstract: A method for manipulating source data to determine a route from a predetermined starting point to a predetermined destination for a means of conveyance, in particular for a motor vehicle, airplane or ship, based on a digital database that includes predetermined route segments ki with correspondingly assigned nodes ni that interconnect respective route segments ki, where respective weights gi are assigned to the route segments ki and/or the nodes ni. The weights gi are varied, as a function of external events, before a route finding algorithm determines the route.

  • Patent number: 6443960
Abstract: An apparatus for assisting percutaneous light beam guided biopsy, having means for rotating a laser device about first and second rotation axes, the laser device providing its laser beam along an axis intersecting an intersection point between the first and second rotation axes and at right angles thereto. Inclinometers are installed for providing signal values as a function of two- or three-dimensional orientation directions of the said laser device relative to direction of gravitation. Encoding means provide feedback of rotary position information of the laser device. Comparing means compare set calculated instrument insertion angle values, provided from an input device, with encoder feedback signals and inclinometer signals and inhibits rotation operation of the laser device upon reaching specific threshold values.

  • Patent number: 6434477
Abstract: A method for requesting and for processing traffic information, in which a traffic-information query is transmitted by a mobile transceiver, and at least one traffic message is provided by a service provider via a base station, the traffic message being transmitted as a brief coded message. Information about the version of the stored data or data groups in the memory allocated to the mobile transceiver, and/or the manufacturer of the stored data or data groups and/or the issue date of the stored data or data groups is transmitted to the base station in the traffic-information query, so that in the return message of the traffic information, the base station can undertake the coding in such a way that the coded data can be well utilized on the basis of the stored data in the vehicle. In this manner, even given changing data, it is ensured in all events that the mobile transceiver is able to interpret the coded traffic messages.
