  • Publication number: 20050134619
Abstract: A circuit and a method of estimating pulse frequencies of nozzles in an ink-jet head use a new mechanism of estimating pulse frequencies of nozzles instead of in a conventional counting mechanism. The circuit includes a DRAM, an adder and a method control mechanism. The method control mechanism controls the access method. The DRAM retrieves a plurality of pulse frequency parameters of nozzles after ink-jet cycle signals are received. The adder adds the parameters and weighted values to update pulse frequency parameters. The updated parameters are saved back to the DRAM.

  • Publication number: 20050122546
Abstract: An image processing mechanism combines the halftone method and image enhancement technique for processing halftone and improving image performance. The mechanism includes an image input module, an image enhancement module and a halftone module. The image input module sends the original image data to the image enhancement module to enhance the image by filtering. The halftone module processes the enhanced image data by the algorithm of error diffusion. It combines two different processes into one mechanism to simplify the hardware architecture and to decrease the usage of memory.

  • Publication number: 20050122361
Abstract: A method creates printing data applied to a printer that is capable of generating different sizes of ink drops. Firstly, a halftoning threshold table is created based on all possible combinations that are determined based on the quantity of the printheads and the sizes of ink drops quantity provided by each printhead. When the image data to be printed is received, each pixel of an image will correspond to one combination based on the halftoning threshold table. The corresponding combination is deemed as a halftoning encoded data and represented by several bits. These bits can be separated into plural groups, where the bits contained in each group are for driving a specific printhead. That is to say, each printhead has its own driving data so that the printing process will have superior efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20050099447
Abstract: A method and apparatus for detecting faulty nozzles is applied to a multi-function peripheral (MFP). The method is to print a predefined test pattern by an inkjet component of a printing unit. A scanning unit connecting with the printing unit scans the predefined test pattern to generate an image data of the predefined test pattern. Afterwards, an analyzing unit analyzes the image data of the predefined test pattern to see if any one of the nozzles is clogged. Finally, the analyzing unit reports the result to the printing unit. The printing unit will avoid using the clogged nozzles during the printing process to improve the quality of printing.

  • Patent number: 6884719
Abstract: A method for depositing a high-k dielectric coating onto a substrate, such as a semiconductor wafer, is provided. The substrate is subjected to one or more reaction cycles. For instance, in a typical reaction cycle, the substrate is heated to a certain deposition temperature. Thereafter, in one embodiment, one or more reactive organo-metallic gas precursors are supplied to the reactor vessel. An oxidizing gas is also supplied to the substrate at a certain oxidizing temperature to oxidize and/or densify the layers. As a result, a metal oxide coating is formed that has a thickness equal to at least about one monolayer, and in some instances, two or more monolayers. The dielectric constant of the resulting metal oxide coating is often greater than about 4, and in some instance, is from about 10 to about 80.

  • Publication number: 20050068334
Abstract: A de-interlacing device and method therefor for de-interlacing an image. The image includes at least one field, which includes a plurality of pixels arranged in an M*N matrix. The de-interlacing device is for determining the brightness value of a current pixel and includes the following elements. A motion detector is for determining whether or not the current pixel is motional. An edge detector detects an edge type of the current pixel if the current pixel is motional. An edge-based de-interlacer includes a reference pixel determiner for determining a plurality of edge reference pixels having the strongest correlation with the current pixel according to the edge type, and a brightness value determiner for deriving the brightness value of the current pixel according to the edge reference pixels.

  • Publication number: 20040124577
Abstract: The Media Handling Mechanism application to Media Handling devices includes pickup roller, cam and feed roller. The feed roller feeds the media, then the pickup roller presses the media with friction pad, and picks up the media by rotating motion. The Media Handling Mechanism applies to kinds of the media of different size and thickness. This simple design not only decreases the cost, but also the working efficiency is improved.

  • Publication number: 20030108804
Abstract: An inkjet manufacturing process and device for color filters are disclosed. The invention includes an inkjet head module, a motion platform, an electric field generator, an optical detection system, and a control system. The motion platform can support a filter substrate and have relative motion with respect to the inkjet head module. The optical detection system provides a real-time positioning function so that the inkjet head module can correctly jet and paint ink droplets on the substrate. The electric field generator imposes an electric field on the ink droplets so that the ink droplets become homogeneous because of the electrocapillary effect. The invention avoids the usual design of an ink absorption layer, greatly increasing the accuracy and diffusion homogeneity of the ink droplet painting.

  • Patent number: 6183566
Abstract: A chlorine based dry-cleaning system appropriate for removing metal contaminants from the surface of substrate is described in which the metal contaminant is chlorinated and reduced to a volatile metal chloride by UV irradiation. The process parameters of chlorine gas partial pressure, temperature, ultraviolet bandwidth, and/or the sequence of exposure of the substrate to the chlorine containing gas and to the ultraviolet radiation are selected so as to effect substantial removal of the metal without excessive substrate roughening.
