  • Publication number: 20250103368
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to automated computer-implemented methods and systems for optimizing and provisioning virtual data storage of virtual machines in a data center. The methods and systems attach virtual disks to virtual machines on the same datastore of the VMs. The methods and systems adjust storage space of the VDs based on storage space available to the VDs, and retains data stored in the VDs in response to receiving a request to delete the VM and the VD identifies as persistent.

  • Publication number: 20250090932
Abstract: A wide variety of devices generate alarms when a particular condition is met. For example, a smoke detector generates an alarm upon detecting smoke whilst a motion detector generates an alarm upon detecting motion when the system to which the motion detector is connected is set or armed. However, in each instance the alarm is the same when the specific condition, e.g. smoke, motion; is met. Accordingly, it would be beneficial to provide users with an alarm which is generated in dependence upon an overall context within which the alarm is established and the resulting alarm generated varies in dependence upon the established context.

  • Publication number: 20250093656
Abstract: A method of active-dimming control for augmented-reality glasses. The method includes, while a user is wearing augmented-reality glasses, obtaining a first set of light information measured via a first sensor on the augmented reality glasses which is positioned to receive light after it travels through a dimmable element of the augmented-reality glasses. The method further includes obtaining a second set of light information measured via a second sensor on the augmented reality glasses positioned to receive light that has not travelled through the dimmable element of the augmented-reality glasses. The method further includes electronically adjusting a dimming level of the dimmable element based on a comparison between the first set and second set of light information.

  • Publication number: 20250092446
Abstract: The present disclosure provides methods and systems for systematic elimination of background DNA in a DNA mixture sample. Often, the DNA of interest is in a heavy background of DNAs from other tissues. For example, a majority of DNA in plasma cell-free DNA originates from white blood cells. The present disclosure exploits genome-wide background DNA methylation to systematically eliminate DNA from white blood cells and normal tissue(s), therefore enriching non-background DNA for diagnostics, for example, the diagnostics of cancer and infectious diseases. The methods and systems may comprise the selection of targeted regions to generate one or more hybrid capture panels, digest nucleic acid molecules of specific methylation status with one or more restriction enzymes, retrieve the remaining DNA using the hybrid capture panel, sequence the captured DNA, analyze the sequencing data of the captured DNA, and diagnose diseases.

  • Publication number: 20250092078
Abstract: Compounds for activating invariant natural killer T cells (iNKT) cells are provided. Compounds according to certain embodiments activate iNKT cells and induce an increase in the production of one or more cytokines, such as IFN?, IL-2, IL-4, IL-6 and TNF?. In some embodiments, activated iNKT cells are used to selectively reduce the presence of or eliminate inflammatory senescent cells, such as senescent cells having an inflammatory secretome (SASP). Methods for activating iNKT cells by contacting an iNKT cell with an amount of the subject compounds and selectively reducing the presence of or eliminating senescent cells with activated iNKT cells are also described. Compositions for practicing the subject methods are also described.

  • Publication number: 20250094452
Abstract: A central database system trains and applies machine-learned models based on characteristics of one or more entities associated with the central database system. For instance, the central database system trains a machine-learned model configured to identify issues a target entity is likely to encounter based on training data identifying characteristics of historical entities and issues faced by the historical entities. Likewise, the central database system trains machine-learned models configured to predict actions that entities are likely to take in the future, and resources required to take those actions. The central database system can then perform one or more proactive actions or make one or more recommendations based on the predicted issues, the predicted future actions, and the predicted required resources.

  • Patent number: 12253164
Abstract: The present teachings generally provide for an actuator assembly to move between a decoupled position, and a coupled position. The actuator assembly includes a shift assembly including a gear connected to the motor, an input member in communication with the gear configured to transition between a first position and a second position; an output member operatively connected to the input member and configured to move a distance defining a stroke length between a disengaged position and an engaged position; and a biasing member connecting the input member to the output member. The input member rotates from the first position to the second position relative to the output member, increasing a tension of the biasing member due to an interference causing a blocked condition. The biasing member rotates the output member in a releasing condition upon clearance of the interference such that the output member rotates through the stroke length.

  • Patent number: 12249949
Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods for attaching solar modules to roofs. The devices may include a module hook clamp with a clamp body with clamp body arms extending upward from a clamp body base. The clamp body arms may include downward-facing hooks that engage a portion of the solar module's return flange and the outward-facing surface of the solar module. A spacer may optionally be positioned between the clamp body arms. The spacer may seat the solar module. A hook arm with a generally curve-shaped seating surface may extend below the clamp body base. The devices may further include a module attachment bracket that secures a second solar module in a similar manner as the module hook clamp. The module attachment bracket may include a platform that seats the hook arm of the module hook clamp, and a hook arm receiver that receives and secures the open end of the hook arm.
