Abstract: A pump assembly includes a centrifugal pump having an intake, a discharge, a pump chamber and an impeller to deliver water from the intake to the discharge. A priming system is fluidly coupled to the pump chamber. A drive assembly includes a drive shaft coupled to the priming system and positioned around an impeller shaft coupled to the impeller for selective rotatable coupling of the impeller shaft and the drive shaft.

Abstract: Techniques are described for controlling communication devices using image analysis. For instance, when a communication is received by a communication device, the communication device outputs an alert to notify users of the received communication and accesses one or more images of an area proximate to the communication device. The one or more images cover an area proximate to the communication device at a time during which the communication device is outputting the alert. The communication device analyzes the one or more images to determine whether a user is present in the one or more images and in a position to perceive the received communication. The communication device handles at least one aspect of the received communication based on the determination of whether a user is in a position to perceive the received communication.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for determining the presence of adjacent channel interference. Received digital signals are processed to detect the existence of strong channels adjacent to the channel of interest and control signals may be generated based on the detection of strong adjacent channels. The control signals are then used to adjust the signal power of the received signals.

Abstract: An approach is provided for enabling hover-based interactions to define spatial searches on mobile maps. A user interaction manager causes, at least in part, a rendering of at least one user interface depicting mapping information. A user interaction manager then processes and/or facilitates a processing of one or more hover-based interactions with the at least one user interface to determine one or more parameters for one or more spatial searches over the mapping information.

Abstract: A refrigerator having a dispenser that includes an outlet and that is configured to dispense content through the outlet and along an output flow path. The refrigerator also includes a detection unit configured to detect user activity that is indicative of a desire to fill a container with content using the dispenser. The refrigerator further includes an optical system that is configured to, in response to detecting the user activity, direct a beam of light along at least a portion of the output flow path of the dispenser to assist a user in positioning a container to receive content dispensed along the output flow path.

Abstract: Techniques are described for displaying a representation of a list of electronic search results while a user is reviewing content linked to by electronic search results included in the list. While the user is reviewing the search results, the user may jump between content linked to by different search results using the representation of the list of electronic search results displayed. The displayed representation of the list of search results may be updated based on the user's browsing activities in reviewing the search results, user input manipulating the list of search results, and supplemental information added to the list of search results by the user.

Abstract: An electronic direction system accesses navigation data describing at least one instance in which a direction was missed during provision of electronic navigation along a route and tracks instances in which directions have been missed based on the accessed navigation data. The electronic direction system accounts for the tracked instances in which directions have been missed in handling provision of future directions.

Abstract: A system and method for interactive graphical construction of computer programs known as subassemblies, which are used to construct components of cross sectional frameworks for generating 3D models of complex infrastructure configurations, such as roadway intersections, drainage tunnels and utility vaults. The system and methods disclosed are adapted to allow such subassembly construction to be performed without computer programming experience, skill, knowledge, or activity on the part of the user. In at least one embodiment, computer software provides an interactive graphical user interface for facilitating construction of subassemblies without programming by the user, and a runtime component comprising at least one dynamically constructed compiled program library file, referenced program library files, and other non-object code files used in operation.

For instance, text entered in an interface defining an outgoing communication is compared with file storage information.
