  • Patent number: 9846815
Abstract: Implementations generally relate to producing a still image from a video or series of continuous frames. In some implementations, a method includes receiving the frames that a capture device shot while moving in at least two dimensions. The method further includes analyzing the frames to determine changes of positions of objects in at least two of the frames due to movement of the objects in the scene relative to changes of positions of objects due to the movement of the capture device during the shoot time. The method further includes determining, based at least in part on the variability of the objects, one or more target subjects which the capture device captures during the shoot time. One or more still images are generated from the plurality of frames having at least a portion of the target subject.

  • Publication number: 20170289266
Abstract: A client device may be used to initiate or answer calls using a host device connected to a network. For example, when a phone operating as a host device receives an incoming call from a network, the phone may communicate the presence of the incoming call to one or more client devices such as laptop, desktop, tablet, or wearable devices that are associated with the host device. When an answer call selection is made at a client, a call answered communication may be sent from the client device to the host device. The host device may then communicate with the network to connect the call to the host, and when the call is connected, the host may hand-off the call to the client that sent the call answered communication.

  • Publication number: 20170175530
Abstract: A blade has an airfoil, and the blade is configured for use with a turbomachine. The airfoil has a throat distribution measured at a narrowest region in a pathway between adjacent blades, at which adjacent blades extend across the pathway between opposing walls to aerodynamically interact with fluid flow. The airfoil defines the throat distribution, and the throat distribution reduces aerodynamic loss and improves aerodynamic loading on the airfoil. The airfoil has a linear trailing edge profile.

  • Publication number: 20170074107
Abstract: The present application thus provides a method for reducing stress on at least one of a turbine disk and a turbine blade. The method may include the steps of (a) determining a starting line for a dovetail backcut relative to a datum line, (b) determining a cut angle for the dovetail backcut, and (c) removing material from at least one of the blade dovetail or the disk dovetail slot according to the starting line and the cut angle to form the dovetail backcut. The datum line may be positioned about 2.866 inches (about 72.796 millimeters) from a forward face of the blade dovetail and wherein step (a) is practiced such that for the pressure side of the dovetail, the starting line of the dovetail backcut is at least about 2.566 inches (about 65.176 millimeters) in a forward direction from the datum line.

  • Patent number: 9395197
Abstract: Techniques are described for monitoring whether a user is following directions to a destination during electronic navigation to the destination provided by an electronic navigation device. When the electronic navigation device determines that the user is not following directions to the destination (e.g., the user has missed several turns suggested by the electronic navigation device), the electronic navigation device determines that the user appears to be avoiding the route (or a primary component thereof) to the destination. In response to a determination that the user appears to be avoiding the route (or a primary component thereof) to the destination, the electronic navigation device may automatically, without human intervention, perform an operation directed to using an alternative route (or alternative primary component) to the destination despite the current route remaining preferred according to current routing settings.
