Patent number: 9384382Abstract: Techniques are described for controlling communication devices using image analysis. For instance, when a communication is received by a communication device, the communication device outputs an alert to notify users of the received communication and accesses one or more images of an area proximate to the communication device. The one or more images cover an area proximate to the communication device at a time during which the communication device is outputting the alert. The communication device analyzes the one or more images to determine whether a user is present in the one or more images and in a position to perceive the received communication. The communication device handles at least one aspect of the received communication based on the determination of whether a user is in a position to perceive the received communication.Type: GrantFiled: January 2, 2015Date of Patent: July 5, 2016Inventor: Jason Adam Denise

Patent number: 9354005Abstract: A reduced friction firearm component that is movably mounted within a firearm wherein that is configured to slidably engage an adjacent element with reduced friction. The reduced friction firearm component further includes a body that is cylindrical in shape. The body includes an exterior surface and further includes a first end and a second end. Formed within the exterior surface of the body are a plurality of grooves. The plurality of grooves extend inward along said body from said first end and said second end. Rotatably mounted within said plurality of grooves are a multitude of ball bearings. A fastener is secured proximate the first end of each of said plurality of grooves that is operable to retain the multitude of ball bearings within said plurality of grooves. Publication number: 20160123178Abstract: A variable geometry convergent-divergent nozzle for a gas turbine engine includes a centerbody extending rearward along a longitudinal axis of the engine which has a maximum diameter section. An inner shroud surrounds the centerbody and cooperates with the centerbody to define the throat of the nozzle. An outer shroud surrounds the inner shroud and cooperates with the centerbody to define the exit area of the nozzle. Both shrouds are independently translatable to provide independent control of the nozzle throat area and the nozzle expansion ratio. Additional actuation of the inner shroud results in the throat being disposed upon a fully forward portion of the centerbody, said fully forward shroud disposition being more forward than over the maximum diameter section. The nozzle may further comprise independent translation of the centerbody with respect to the shrouds.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 29, 2014Publication date: May 5, 2016Inventors: Trevor Andrew TERSMETTE, Jason Adam LEE

Publication number: 20150345303Abstract: A rotor blade includes a mounting portion comprising a mounting body that is formed to receive a coolant therein. An airfoil portion extends substantially radially outwardly from the mounting body and includes an airfoil body. The mounting body and the airfoil body define a plurality of primary cooling passages that extend substantially radially therein for routing the coolant through the airfoil body. Each of the primary cooling passages includes a cooling flow outlet that is formed along a tip portion of the airfoil body. The airfoil body further defines a plurality of trailing edge cooling passages, each having a coolant outlet that is formed along a trailing edge portion of the airfoil body. At least a portion of the trailing edge cooling passages are formed along a radially outer portion of the trailing edge proximate to the tip portion of the airfoil body.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 28, 2014Publication date: December 3, 2015Applicant: General Electric CompanyInventors: Zhirui Dong, Xiuzhang James Zhang, Jason Adam Neville

Patent number: 9137181Abstract: Systems and methods concerning electronic communication reminder technology are disclosed. At a receiving device comprising one or more processors and a memory storing one or more programs for execution by the one or more processors, a first electronic message addressed to a particular user is received from a sender. The first electronic message is made available to the particular user and, in accordance with a determination that the particular user has not responded to the first electronic message, the particular user is alerted, at a predefined time, to the first electronic message. This predefined time is determined based at least in part on response pattern data corresponding to one or more characteristics associated with the receiving device.Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 2014Date of Patent: September 15, 2015Assignee: Google Inc.Inventor: Jason Adam Denise

Patent number: 9097545Abstract: Techniques are described for monitoring whether a user is following directions to a destination during electronic navigation to the destination provided by an electronic navigation device. When the electronic navigation device determines that the user is not following directions to the destination (e.g., the user has missed several turns suggested by the electronic navigation device), the electronic navigation device determines that the user appears to be avoiding the route (or a primary component thereof) to the destination. In response to a determination that the user appears to be avoiding the route (or a primary component thereof) to the destination, the electronic navigation device may automatically, without human intervention, perform an operation directed to using an alternative route (or alternative primary component) to the destination despite the current route remaining preferred according to current routing settings.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 2014Date of Patent: August 4, 2015Inventor: Jason Adam Denise

Patent number: 9053435Abstract: Embodiments are directed towards generating application models based on discovery based machine learning. A mobile application may be uploaded to a computer that may be part of a testing platform. A reference mobile computer may be selected and the mobile application maybe installed onto the reference mobile computer. Also, the testing platform may generate an initial application model based on the mobile application. The current active window of the mobile application may be determined and the application model may be updated accordingly. Screenshots may be generated that correspond to each current active window of the mobile application. Also, each user-interface control in the active window may be activated. The results of activating each control may be observed and added to the model. If the activation causes navigation, another active window may be determined. The application model may be used for testing other mobile computers.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 2013Date of Patent: June 9, 2015Assignee: Xamarin Inc.Inventors: Karl Krukow, Jonas Maturana Larsen, David Siegel, Nathaniel Dourif Friedman, Jason Adam Smith, Vinicius Scopel Depizzol

Patent number: 9053242Abstract: Embodiments are directed towards testing a responsiveness of a graphical user interface (GUI) for an application executing on a computer. During execution of each portion of a test, stimuli may be provided to the application. The stimuli may be provided to the application thread that is associated with rendering graphics for the GUI. Responses from the application to the stimuli may be monitored to determine a responsiveness of the application for at least one portion of the test. The responsiveness may be determined based on a wait time between providing a request and receiving a reply to the request, which may indicate that the application is in a state to accept input through the GUI. Responsiveness may be determined separately for each portion of the test. A displayable report may be generated to include the responsiveness of the application for each portion of the test.Type: GrantFiled: October 9, 2014Date of Patent: June 9, 2015Assignee: Xamarin Inc.Inventors: Jason Adam Smith, Vinicius Scopel Depizzol, Nathaniel Dourif Friedman, Karl Krukow, Jonas Maturana Larsen, David Siegel
