Abstract: A thermal management system for an enclosure containing electrical components includes a thermoelectric cooling unit for controlling temperature inside the enclosure and a controller for the cooling unit, the controller being configured so that it can be installed within and protected by the enclosure, rather than requiring its own separate secure enclosure. The controller includes a simplified power management circuit that uses an input quick connector that receives a first cable connector for providing power to the circuit board, and an output quick connector that receives a second cable connector for supplying power from the input quick connector to the fan of the cooling unit. This one-in, one-out arrangement allows for the elimination of multiple hard-wired cable harnesses and the corresponding connectors on the circuit boards of existing controllers. The circuit board size is reduced, and terminal blocks eliminated, so that the controller can be installed inside the enclosure.

Abstract: An apparatus having a controller will initiate an obstacle detector alignment mode. An annunciation system of the apparatus effects a first annunciation mode in response to a receiving component of an obstacle detection system receiving a signal transmitted from a transmitting component of the obstacle detection system. The annunciation system effects a second annunciation mode in response to the receiving component of the obstacle detection system not receiving the signal transmitted from the transmitting component of the obstacle detection system.

Abstract: Methods and systems for generating location-aware group recommendations are discussed. For example, a method can include operations for receiving a group recommendation request, accessing user profile data associated with members of the group, and generating a group recommendation. The group recommendation request can be received at a network-based system and include identification of a first and second user as well as information identifying a current location associated with the first and second users. Accessing the user profile information can include accessing user profile information for both the first and second users. The group recommendation can be generated based on the current location data and a combination of at least a portion of the user profile data from the first and second users.

Abstract: Embodiments of the inventive concept can include a multi-stage mapping technique for a page cache controller. For example, a gigantic virtual page address space can be mapped to a physical page address efficiently, both in terms of time and space. An internal mapping module can implement a mapping technique for kernel virtual page address caching. In some embodiments, the mapping module can include integrated balanced skip lists and page tables for mapping sparsely populated kernel virtual page address space or spaces to physical block (i.e., page) address space or spaces. The mapping module can automatically and dynamically convert one or more sections from a skip list to a page table, or from a page table to a skip list. Thus, the kernel page cache can be extended to have larger secondary memory using volatile or non-volatile page cache storage media.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a composition of albumin microbubbles to which are bound one or more moieties that exhibit a binding preference for the albumin microbubbles relative to free, native HSA. Production of the albumin microbubble composition and use of the albumin microbubble composition in ultrasound mediated delivery of therapeutic or diagnostic agents is also discussed.

Abstract: Various embodiments enable mobile devices, such as phones and the like, to integrate with an in-vehicle information/entertainment system to enable the user to control the in-vehicle information/entertainment system by way of their mobile phone. Users can leverage the functionality of their mobile phone to promote an in-vehicle experience which can be contextually tailored to the user's or the vehicle's context. Yet other embodiments can purvey an in-vehicle experience through a cloud based service.

An aspect includes receiving, by a contamination monitoring logic from a primary heat exchanger outlet temperature sensor, a first temperature comprising an air temperature at an outlet of a primary heat exchanger. Another aspect includes receiving, from a secondary heat exchanger outlet temperature sensor, a second temperature comprising an air temperature at an outlet of a secondary heat exchanger. Another aspect includes receiving, from a compressor outlet temperature sensor, a third temperature comprising an air temperature at an outlet of a compressor. Another aspect includes determining, based on the first, second, and third temperature, a heat exchanger contamination value. Another aspect includes comparing the heat exchanger contamination value to a predetermined contamination threshold.

Abstract: Methods separates a gas comprising providing a first electrode in ion-conducting contact with an electrolyte, providing a second electrode in ion-conducting contact with the electrolyte, wherein the second electrode comprises a liquid metal, providing a displacing material comprising a first surface in contact with the second electrode and a second surface exposed to an environment outside the second electrode, wherein said material permits flow of gas and impedes flow of liquid metal, and establishing a potential between the first and second electrodes, whereby gas flows toward the liquid metal. Abstract: A system and method for monitoring telephone calls to detect fraudulent activity and take corrective action is described. The system receives a first group of telephone calls having associated voice characteristics and analyzes the first group of telephone calls to identify and store a first set of distributions of voice characteristics that are indicative of normal activity, fraudulent activity, or indeterminate activity. The system receives a second group of telephone calls to be analyzed. The system analyzes the second group of telephone calls to identify a second set of distributions of voice characteristics associated with the second group of telephone calls. The system then compares the second set of distributions of voice characteristics to the stored first set of distributions of voice characteristics to assess a probability that one or more telephone calls in the second group of telephone calls represents normal, fraudulent, or indeterminate activity.

Abstract: A smart charging system for charging a plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) includes an electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) configured to supply electrical power to the PEV through a smart charging module coupled to the EVSE. The smart charging module comprises an electronic circuitry which includes a processor. The electronic circuitry includes electronic components structured to receive electrical power from the EVSE, and supply the electrical power to the PEV. The electronic circuitry is configured to measure a charging parameter of the PEV. The electronic circuitry is further structured to emulate a pulse width modulated signal generated by the EVSE. The smart charging module can also include a first coupler structured to be removably couple to the EVSE and a second coupler structured to be removably coupled to the PEV.

Abstract: A modified porous membrane comprising a polymer coating grafted to a porous membrane is described. A method for analyte detection from a biological sample using an immunoassay is also provided using the modified membrane, wherein the method comprises a) providing a modified porous membrane having the structure of Formula (I), b) incubating the modified porous membrane with a first biomolecule, wherein the first biomolecule binds to the modified porous membrane to form a first biomolecule bound modified porous membrane; and c) adding a biological sample comprising at least an analyte to the first biomolecule bound modified porous membrane for analyte detection by binding the analyte to the first biomolecule bound to the modified porous membrane.

Abstract: Techniques are described for providing virtual networking functionality for managed computer networks. In some situations, a user may configure or otherwise specify one or more virtual local area networks (“VLANs”) for a managed computer network being provided for the user, such as with each VLAN including multiple computing nodes of the managed computer network. Networking functionality corresponding to the specified VLAN(s) may then be provided in various manners, such as if the managed computer network itself is a distinct virtual computer network overlaid on one or more other computer networks, and communications between computing nodes of the managed virtual computer network are handled in accordance with the specified VLAN(s) of the managed virtual computer network by emulating functionality that would be provided by networking devices of the managed virtual computer network if they were physically present and configured to support the specified VLAN(s).

Abstract: A method for allocating standardized gifts to recipients. The method includes converting monetary gifts to a plurality of standardized gifts, distributing those gifts to a set of recipients, and providing a communication link between the donors of the standardized gifts and the recipients of the standardized gifts if the gift is accepted by the recipient. The distribution of the gifts may be determined based on a ranking of the gifts based on the initial gift size and date. The recipient pool may be determined based on a ranking of length of time since last gift received and the number of gifts received over a given period by the recipient. The communication link may be formed based on identification information of the donor associated with a gift and the identification information for the matched recipient. Unaccepted gifts may be recirculated and matched with other recipients.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for monitoring, recording and/or reporting information about incidents that occur within proximity of an aircraft. When an incident monitoring mode is activated, external imagers of the aircraft begin recording of video images outside the aircraft in a temporary buffer as pre-event video data. Motion sensors that detect movement in the vicinity of the aircraft, and movement sensors that detect movement of the aircraft are also enabled. When a sensor detects a trigger event, an incident report file (IRF) is saved that includes the pre-event video data that is stored in the temporary buffer. Post-event video images are then recorded in the IRF as post-event video data until a condition occurs. Alarm signals that are perceptible outside the aircraft, and an incident report message can be generated and communicated to an external computer to indicate that an incident has occurred in proximity of the aircraft.

Abstract: A mobile robot system is provided that includes a docking station having at least two pose-defining fiducial markers. The pose-defining fiducial markers have a predetermined spatial relationship with respect to one another and/or to a reference point on the docking station such that a docking path to the base station can be determined from one or more observations of the at least two pose-defining fiducial markers. A mobile robot in the system includes a pose sensor assembly. A controller is located on the chassis and is configured to analyze an output signal from the pose sensor assembly. The controller is configured to determine a docking station pose, to locate the docking station pose on a map of a surface traversed by the mobile robot and to path plan a docking trajectory.

Abstract: A system is provided for planting multiple types of seed and automatically switching between the varieties during planting in a single planting pass of a planting session of row-crop planting an agricultural field. The system may include a selector assembly arranged between a multi-compartment on-row hopper and a seed meter at each row unit of a planter. A control system controls selector valves of the selector assembly to switch from releasing of seeds of a first type from the on-row hopper the seed meter to releasing of seeds of a second type from the on-row hopper to the seed meter for providing a switchover of seeds being planted from the seed meter, from the first to the second type when the seed meter cross a boundary between different zones of the agricultural field.

Abstract: A wearable monitoring device includes a plurality of cardiac sensing electrodes, a monitor, at least one motion sensor, and a controller. The plurality of cardiac sensing electrodes are positioned outside a body of a subject and to detect cardiac information of the subject. The monitor administers a predetermined test to the subject, and has a user interface configured to receive quality of life information from the subject. The at least one motion sensor is positioned outside the body of the subject and to detect subject motion during the predetermined test. The controller is communicatively coupled to the plurality of cardiac sensing electrodes, the monitor, and the at least one motion sensor, and receives and stores the detected cardiac information, the quality of life information, and the detected subject motion. The controller further communicates the stored detected subject motion and the quality of life information to a remote computer.
