  • Patent number: 9352213
Abstract: An augmented reality (AR) game system is disclosed wherein real-world objects are transformed into AR terrain elements and AR events generate real-world impact. The game environment is set up using real-world objects that include everyday objects and game pieces on a field of play. When viewed on the screen of a computing device executing the modules of the game system, the everyday objects are transformed into elements of an AR terrain while the game pieces can be augmented with various controls. Multiple viewing modes, for example, a third person view, a first person view or “POV” view from a selected game piece or a split screen view are contemplated for viewing the field of play. A subset of the augmented controls can be activated by the user to execute AR events some of which can have real-world impact. The AR events are executed based on game rules.

  • Patent number: 9356461
Abstract: A system and method for wireless charging are provided. A control circuit charges one or more cells in a secondary wireless charging circuit that receives power wirelessly from a primary. The control circuit determines the state of charge and temperature of the cells. The control circuit then calculates a current limit as a function of a combination of the state of charge, input voltage to the control circuit for the wireless controller, FET power dissipation and the temperature and adjusts a wireless power control device in the secondary such that its current limit is set to the state of charge current limit. Different temperature limits can be used for different states of charge such that the cells can be charged at higher temperatures at low states of charge than at higher states of charge.

  • Patent number: 9355134
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for facilitating data redistribution in database sharding. A database is maintained that is horizontally partitioned into a set of first buckets using modulo-based assignments. A fixed number of the first buckets are stored in each of multiple physical data stores. The database is repartitioned into a set of second buckets using modulo-based assignments. The number of second buckets in the set is a multiple of the sum of a positive integer and the quantity of the physical data stores. The data in the database is unmoved between the physical data stores by repartitioning.
