  • Publication number: 20180210790
Abstract: A method begins by a dispersed storage (DS) processing module transmitting a set of write commands for storing a set of encoded data slices in storage units of a dispersed storage network (DSN) and determining whether at least a first threshold number of write responses have been received within a response time period. When the at least the first threshold number of the write responses have been received within the response time period, the method continues with the DS processing module determining whether a total number of responses have been received within another response time period. When the total number of responses have not been received within the other response time period, the method continues with the DS processing module issuing a sub-set of write commit commands corresponding to a response number of encoded data slices for which a response was received.

  • Publication number: 20180213005
Abstract: Disclosed are approaches for detecting attempts to circumvent security policies on a client device. A deletion of a user account on a computing device is detected, wherein the deletion is initiated locally on the computing device and the user account is associated with an enrollment of the computing device with a management service. Data stored in a memory of the computing device that is subject to a policy received from the management service is identified. The data is deleted from the memory of the computing device. The policy is then deleted from the memory of the computing device.

  • Publication number: 20180211490
Abstract: A gaming system and method including providing a community or group bonus event to a plurality of players at a plurality of gaming devices. For each of the players determined as eligible to participate in a triggered group bonus event, the gaming system determines that player's relative probability of winning a group bonus event award in the triggered bonus event. In one such embodiment, each player's relative probability of winning the group bonus event award is based on that player's wagering history, such as any amounts wagered by that player, the frequency of placing such wagers and/or frequency of not placing any wagers.

  • Publication number: 20180211568
Abstract: An automated method and system of determining movement and/or deformation of an anthropomorphic test device (ATD). The method and system includes an acoustic transmitter device located on a first region of the ATD and an acoustic receiver device located on a second region of the ATD. An electric field is provided in communication with the acoustic transmitter to activate the acoustic transmitter for generating mechanical waves to be received by the acoustic receiver. Relative locations of the acoustic transmitter device and the acoustic receiver device are determined by the time of flight of the generated mechanical wave traveling from the acoustic transmitter device to the acoustic receiver device while the first region of the ATD and/or the second region of the ATD are subjected to movement and/or deformation; and determining movement and/or deformation data of the second region of the ATD.

  • Publication number: 20180208220
Abstract: A pneumatically piloted retainer valve for bottling brake cylinder pressure that can be set and released in response to changes in the brake pipe pressure. Pneumatically piloted retainer valve provides a brake cylinder pressure retaining function that bottles applied brake cylinder pressure in the brake cylinder when brake pipe pressure is less than a predetermined cut-in pressure. Pneumatically piloted retainer valve includes a retainer valve movable between a reset position, where brake cylinder pressure is in communication with exhaust and a bottle position, wherein brake cylinder pressure is isolated from exhaust. A retainer pilot control valve provides for piloting of the retainer valve in response to a predetermined reduction or threshold increase in brake pipe pressure.
