  • Patent number: 11173016
Abstract: Apparatus and method for installing a multi-tooth dental prosthesis in one session are shown and described. A first tool attaches to the jawbone, and serves as a foundation for subsequently used guides. Existing teeth and dental fixtures are removed, and the bone tissue is removed to accommodate the prosthesis. Subsequently, a drill guide is used to drill implant holes. An abutment guide is then used to place abutments. Copings are then installed. Next, the prosthesis may be installed and cemented to the copings. A resinous filler material may be applied to fill gaps and holes in and between the copings and the prosthesis, and is sanded smooth. The first tool, the guides, and the prosthesis are predesigned and prefabricated based on images taken of the patient anatomy.

  • Publication number: 20210199780
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods that utilize an internal optical path in lidar applications. An example method includes causing at least one light-emitter device to emit a plurality of light pulses toward a rotatable mirror. The rotatable mirror (i) reflects at least a first light pulse of the plurality of light pulses into an external environment; and (ii) reflects at least a second light pulse of the plurality of light pulses into an internal optical path. The method also includes receiving, by a photodetector, (i) a reflected light pulse comprising a reflection of the first light pulse caused by an object in the external environment; and (ii) the second light pulse received via the internal optical path. The internal optical path is defined at least in part by one or more internal reflectors that reflect the second light pulse toward the rotatable mirror such that the rotatable mirror reflects the second light pulse toward the photodetector.

  • Publication number: 20200408882
Abstract: Example embodiments relate to beam homogenization for occlusion avoidance. One embodiment includes a light detection and ranging (LIDAR) device. The LIDAR device includes a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter includes a light emitter. The light emitter emits light that diverges along a fast-axis and a slow-axis. The transmitter also includes a fast-axis collimation (FAC) lens optically coupled to the light emitter. The FAC lens is configured to receive light emitted by the light emitter and reduce a divergence of the received light along the fast-axis of the light emitter to provide reduced-divergence light. The transmitter further includes a transmit lens optically coupled to the FAC lens. The transmit lens is configured to receive the reduced-divergence light from the FAC lens and provide transmit light. The FAC lens is positioned relative to the light emitter such that the reduced-divergence light is expanded at the transmit lens.

  • Publication number: 20190216581
Abstract: Methods for generating and providing a full arch prosthesis from a pre-existing prosthesis are presented, starting from the pre-existing prosthesis. This prosthesis is removed from the mouth, scanned, and replaced within the mouth. An intermediate prosthesis is generated from the scan, and modified to match a final physiological target configuration of the patient's mouth. The intermediate prosthesis is used to generate a final virtual representation of the target configuration, from which final virtual representation the final working prosthesis is fabricated. The intermediate prosthesis is mounted in the patient's mouth in sections, for desirable repositioning, sections then being bonded together. Copings can be digitally subtracted to enable press fit new copings to be installed. Alternatively, the intermediate prosthesis can include integrated false copings. The intermediate prosthesis is scanned to generate a final digital model or virtual representation of the desired final prosthesis.

  • Publication number: 20160278878
Abstract: A sequential dental surgical guide system and method for immediate load is described. The system includes 1) a tooth and tissue borne surgical guide with fixation pins and bone reduction osteotomy sites 2) an implant osteotomy guide and 3) a prosthesis guide. The system does not rely on any anatomical reference points such as tissue or bone after placement of the first tooth and tissue borne reference guide. The sequential guide(s), both surgical implant placement and prosthesis guide rely on the original fixation positions determined by the first guide. Digital treatment planning and design are used to accurately place each sequential guide back to the original fixation pin positions. The fixation pin reference can be pinned and repined in the same sites per sequential guide or fixed in the jaw through the protocol by keeping them in place and switching out the guides.

  • Patent number: 7740276
Abstract: A window restraint device includes a mesh screen having an upper end and a lower end. The restraint device includes an upper attachment device, such as a clip or strap, coupled to the screen upper end for removable attachment to an automobile door frame. The restraint device also includes a lower attachment device, such as a suction cup, coupled to the screen lower end for connecting the lower end of the screen to an automobile window. Neither the upper or lower attachment devices interfere with normal operation of the vehicle window, nor do they restrict a pet from normal movement within the vehicle. The restraint device may also include a spring-loaded reel from which the screen may be extended from or retracted into. The spring provides tension between upper and lower ends of the screen.
