  • Patent number: 10270393
Abstract: A composite transconductance amplifier is formed using a single transconductance amplifier with its output connected to a load via one or more resistors in series. The single transconductance amplifier has a linear transconductance (gm). As the current through the series resistors is increased, the voltage drops across the nodes of the resistors increase. Control terminals of separate drive circuits are connected to the various nodes and successively turn on as the current from the single transconductance amplifier slews more positive. Thus, the effective gm of the composite transconductance amplifier is based on the gm of the single transconductance amplifier and the currents contributed by the successively enabled drive circuits. Therefore, the gm is nonlinear. Pull-down drive circuits are also connected to the resistor nodes to successively pull down the current as the output from the single transconductance amplifier slews negative. The composite transconductance amplifier has low quiescent current.

  • Patent number: 10262559
Abstract: A foldable display comprising: a sleeve, two inserts spaced apart in an interior of the sleeve, and an elastic member comprising a first end coupled to one insert and a second end coupled to the other insert such that the elastic member extends between the two inserts. Each insert is coupled to an interior surface of the sleeve. When the display is in a collapsed position, the sleeve is in a flattened state and each insert is in a folded position that increases a distance between the two inserts. When the display is in a deployed position, each insert is in an unfolded position that decreases the distance between the two inserts. One or more sections of an outer perimeter of each insert contact one or more adjacent sections of the interior surface of the sleeve and bias the sleeve outward such that the sleeve forms a three-dimensional figure.

  • Publication number: 20190079006
Abstract: Methods for sorting haploid maize kernels in haploid induction crosses are provided. A method of sorting haploid kernels can include capturing near-infrared (NIR) spectra and applying a general multivariate statistical model to the acquired NIR spectra to discriminate haploid kernels from diploid-hybrid kernels mixed therein. NIR spectra can be collected on a single kernel using a high-throughput apparatus such that the amount of time required to analyze individual kernels can be significantly reduced in comparison to existing NIR technology and in comparison to traditional manual sorting.

  • Publication number: 20180355956
Abstract: A modular, continuously variable ratio transmission adapted to be coupled between the drive motor of a dual rotor riding trowel and the lower drive train. First and second rigid, generally planar frame plates are secured in parallel relation by a plurality of spacers. The first fame plate has a clearance orifice for admitting a portion of the trowel engine. A stub shaft receives input power and rotates a first pulley that drives a second pulley with a reduced diameter. A first jackshaft driven by said second pulley drives a variable CVT drive pulley affixed externally of the module. A second variable drive pulley coupled to said first variable drive pulley by a belt drives a second jackshaft splined to a fifth pulley that is coupled to a sixth pulley having a diameter greater than the diameter of said fifth pulley. The sixth pulley is coupled to trowel gearbox drive shafts.

  • Publication number: 20180346007
Abstract: A steerable, self-propelled cart for safely delivering heavy loads, such as concrete, within job sites with unlevel, irregular, or sloped terrain. A cargo bucket is tiltable over front drive wheels for transporting and dumping cargo. Hydraulic drive motors driven by a hydraulic pump propel rear wheels at a selectable speed. Steering handlebars rotate a steering column that turns the rear wheels. A throttle cable extending from the handlebars controls the throttle setting by pivoting a throttle lever mounted on the hydraulic pump. Limiting linkages extend from flanges on an anchor bracket secured to the steering column to a bridge on the throttle lever. As the steering column rotates, the limit linkages are wound partially about it, pivoting the throttle lever by pulling on the bridge, reducing pump speed. Heavy steering displacements will retract the throttle lever to reduce cart speed notwithstanding the previous speed setting chosen by the operator via the cable.

  • Publication number: 20180315734
Abstract: In making electronic component packages, a method includes forming a sacrificial material over a first temporary substrate, applying a second temporary substrate to the sacrificial material, and then curing the sacrificial material. After curing, the second temporary substrate is removed. The top surface of the sacrificial layer is defined by the second temporary substrate. After removal, a redistribution structure is formed on the top surface. After the formation of the redistribution structure, electronic components are applied to the redistribution structure. The electronic components are encapsulated to form an encapsulated panel. The first temporary substrate and the sacrificial material are removed. The panel is singulated into multiple electronic component packages.
