  • Publication number: 20160202992
Abstract: A method of processing using an execution slice circuit including multiple parallel instruction execution slices provides flexible and efficient use of internal resources. The execution slice circuit includes a master execution slice for receiving instructions of a first instruction stream and a slave execution slice for receiving instructions of a second instruction stream and instructions of the first instruction stream that require an execution width greater than a width of the slices. The method also detects when a first instruction of the first instruction stream has the greater width and controls the slave execution slice to reserve a first issue cycle for issuing the first instruction in parallel across the master execution slice and the slave execution slice.

  • Patent number: 9371736
Abstract: A method and device for modifying a gas turbine engine is disclosed herein. The method for modifying a gas turbine engine includes accessing a first outward end of a first tube installed in the gas turbine engine, the first tube having a tube axis. Then attaching an extraction tool to the first outward end of the first tube, and applying an axial force to the first tube using the extraction tool, the axial force relative to the tube axis, thus breaking a first interference seal between a first interface surface on a first inward end of the first tube and a receiving member of the gas turbine engine. The method continues with removing the first tube from the gas turbine engine.

  • Patent number: 8877524
Abstract: A method for fabricating light emitting diode (LED) chips comprising providing a plurality of LEDs, typically on a wafer, and coating the LEDs with a conversion material so that at least some light from the LEDs passes through the conversion material and is converted. The light emission from the LED chips comprises light from the conversion material, typically in combination with LED light. The emission characteristics of at least some of the LED chips is measured and at least some of the conversion material over the LEDs is removed to alter the emission characteristics of the LED chips. The invention is particularly applicable to fabricating LED chips on a wafer where the LED chips have light emission characteristics that are within a range of target emission characteristics. This target range can fall within an emission region on a CIE curve to reduce the need for binning of the LEDs from the wafer.
