Abstract: A bone augmentation composition and a method for making the bone augmentation. The method including hydrating an allograft comprising cortical fibers with a cell culture media, seeding the hydrated allograft with a solution of human stem cells, and culturing the stem-cell seeded allograft to grow a population of the stem cells in the seeded graft prior to freezing the bone augmentation composition for storage.

Abstract: Antibodies are provided which comprise at least one Fab portion that binds CD47 and at least one Fab portion that binds the tumor associated antigen (TAA) CD20; wherein the Fab portion that binds CD47 exhibits low affinity for CD47; and, wherein the Fab portion that binds CD20 exhibits high affinity for CD20; and, wherein the antibody selectively binds CD47 and blocks CD47 interaction with SIRP? in tumor cells while exhibiting no substantial binding to CD47 in normal cells.

Abstract: A communal computing device, such as an interactive digital whiteboard, can become unlocked if a user is near the device. The communal computing device may use a sensor such as a camera to capture images of a person and obtain an identifier from a personal device such as a smartphone. A cloud-based provider that is trusted by both the communal computing device and the personal device may associate both the image and the identifier of the personal device with the same user identity. Obtaining the user identity from multiple, different sources provides a secure technique for the communal computing device to recognize a user without the user directly interacting with the communal computing device. If the sensor no longer detects the user or the personal device is no longer detected, then the communal computing device may log off the user. The personal device may be used to confirm log off.

Abstract: A filter well mountable dispenser holder securable within a hot tub filter well with the dispenser holder supporting replaceable dispersant containing dispensing cartridges positionable within a circulating flow of water through the filter well to thereby release dispersants therefrom without preventing the circulating flow of water from passing through the filter media proximate the dispensing cartridges.

Abstract: Described herein is a weight or pressure measuring shovel. The shoveling apparatus has a broad blade assembly or scoop assembly including an elongate handle member. A coupler assembly is designed to couple the curved plate assembly to allow angular orientation or movement of the curved plate assembly to be adjusted relative to the handle member. A force transducer converts the weight or pressure of a material on the curved plate assembly into an electrical signal designed to communicate the weight or pressure of a material such as snow, sand, dirt, or ice. A control module in a housing mounted on the elongate handle is designed to receive electrical signals from the force transducer assembly or a load cell assembly. A display assembly is coupled to the electrical scale assembly and control module.

Abstract: An inline dispersal valve that can be used with or without a base. One embodiment includes a rotatable member that is rotatable from a fluid stream obstructing condition to an out-of-the-way condition to prevent fluid diversion into the dispersal valve. Another embodiment includes a lever handle for quickly setting the amount of fluid being diverted into the inline dispersal valve. Another embodiment includes an indicator that can be viewed from a position above the inline dispersal valve. Another embodiment includes a cap that can be secured or removed without the aid of tools. Another embodiment includes a clip that allows one to disassemble the inline dispersal valve for servicing. Another embodiment includes a dispensing valve that can be reversed and still properly divert fluid into a dispersant chamber. Another embodiment includes an inline dispersal valve with a bleed valve positioned to allow one to bring the air volume in the dispersant chamber to the proper level.

Abstract: A control assembly, a tool and a method. The assembly may include a handle assembly including a first handle portion and a second handle portion, the handle assembly being removably connectable to a tool housing; and pump controls operable to control a pump to drive a tool drive mechanism and thereby an output member. Operation of the pump may require an operator's first hand on a first handle portion and the operator's second hand on a second handle portion. The pump may be operable under the control of the pump controls to drive the drive mechanism when the handle assembly is connected to the housing and when the handle assembly is disconnected from the housing.

Abstract: An orthopedic plate is specifically configured for use in osteotomies, in which part of the plate extends into a portion of a first bone segment and part is external to the cortical surface of an adjacent bone segment to fix the segments to allow them to fuse. The plate has a first end and a second end where the end which is inserted into the bone has a chamfer and a through hole having a hole axis optionally at an oblique angle to the longitudinal axis of the plate, and which can receive a screw, peg or pin. The second end of the plate includes a locking screw hole and optionally including a compression slot extending in a direction toward a screw hole in the opposing end. Optionally, the non-locking hole has a shroud that forms an arc or portion of a cylinder over the hole. A plate driver having a recess that holds the plate is used to insert the plate into the bone.

Abstract: A two-part dispensing device for a pool having a dispensing saddle with a static port therein for continual delivery of a first dispersant and a hold for floatingly supporting itself and an exchangeable dispensing pod therein with the dispensing pod having a dynamic port and a static port for a continual delivery of a dispersant wherein the static port delivery of a dispersant maintains the pool at a safe level when there is no human bather load on the pool and the condition of the disperant in the dispensing pod can be determined by the orientation of the dispensing saddle and the dispensing pod in the pool.

Abstract: A bone pore or void filling composition is described. The composition includes a mixture of: a type I collagen and/or a type I collagen-glycosaminoglycan coprecipitate; a blend of polyethylene glycol polymers having different molecular weights; a bone growth stimulator; and bioactive glass. A kit for containing the bone pore or void filling composition, and methods for using the composition to fill a bone pore or void are also described.

Abstract: A one-way valve for use in a wellbore includes a housing having a longitudinal axis defining a flow bore. A valve seat is arranged in the housing along the flow bore. A flapper member is pivotally supported in the housing between a closed position and an open position. The flapper member includes a first side having a sealing surface that selectively engages the valve seat in the closed position and an opposing second side. The flapper member also includes a central portion that is aligned with the longitudinal axis in the closed portion and a passage extending through the flapper member. An equalizing cartridge is arranged in the passage. The equalizing cartridge includes an equalizing housing and an equalizing plunger including an activation end provided at the first side of the flapper member.

Abstract: An orthopedic plate has a first end including a locking screw hole that receives a locking screw and spaced from that hole is a closed compression housing that extends from the bone-facing side of the plate and which receives a compression screw that forms an angle of from about 10° to about 70° with a longitudinal axis of the plate. The compression housing is not located on the medial line of the plate, but is peripheral to the medial line, either in the longitudinal or the medial direction of the plate.

Abstract: A system for limiting the flow from a dispensing valve when a dispensing cartridge is replaced with the system including a dispenser cartridge with a cam and a water socket with a flow limiter therein that is activeable in response to the position of the dispenser cartridge in the dispensing valve and operable in response to an upstream fluid pressure in the dispensing valve.

Abstract: A user provides an identification (ID) signal (e.g. a biometric ID signal like a self-snapshot) to a trusted cloud-based provider. When the user attempts to authenticate with the cloud-based provider, a similar ID signal (e.g. another self-snapshot) for the user is captured and provided to the cloud-based provider. The cloud-based provider then obtains a secondary ID signal, or a combination of secondary ID signals, and utilizes the secondary ID signal, or signals, to identify a subset of user records to be searched for the ID signal. The subset of the records, rather than all of the user records, can then be searched for the ID signal. The cloud-based provider can then authenticate the user based on the results of the search of the subset of the user records.

A battery pack system may include a plurality of battery cells, including one or more groups of battery cells coupled in parallel. A processor may be configured to select a sub-group of battery cells from a group of battery cells for charging separately from other battery cells of the selected group of battery cells. The group of battery cells may be reconfigured to allow charging of the sub-group of battery cells separate from the other battery cells. The sub-group of battery cells may be charged, and then the group of battery cells may be reconfigured to allow operation of the sub-group of battery cells with the other battery cells. During charging, the sub-group of battery cells may be unavailable but other battery cells may continue to discharge.
