  • Patent number: 11868771
Abstract: A system and method which allows the basic checkpoint-reverse-mode AD strategy (of recursively decomposing the computation to reduce storage requirements of reverse-mode AD) to be applied to arbitrary programs: not just programs consisting of loops, but programs with arbitrarily complex control flow. The method comprises (a) transforming the program into a formalism that allows convenient manipulation by formal tools, and (b) introducing a set of operators to allow computations to be decomposed by running them for a given period of time then pausing them, while treating the paused program as a value subject to manipulation.

  • Publication number: 20230410504
Abstract: A system and method for determining the locations and types of objects in a plurality of videos. The method comprises pairing each video with one or more sentences describing the activity or activities in which those objects participate in the associated video, wherein no use is made of a pretrained object detector. The object locations are specified as rectangles, the object types are specified as nouns, and sentences describe the relative positions and motions of the objects in the videos referred to by the nouns in the sentences. The relative positions and motions of the objects in the video are described by a conjunction of predicates constructed to represent the activity described by the sentences associated with the videos.

  • Publication number: 20230385341
Abstract: A computer system displays a data visualization in a data visualization user interface. In response to detecting a user input that selects a subset of visual data marks from the data visualization, the computer system displays a summary of the selected subset of visual data marks in a summary tab of a view data window. When the computer system determines that the selected subset of visual marks (1) corresponds to a plurality of data fields and (2) references a row-level calculation that uses logical fields from at least two logical tables of a plurality of logical tables of a data model, the computer system (i) generates a representation of the row-level calculation and (ii) displays the representation of the row-level calculation as a first tab in the view data window, distinct from the summary tab.

  • Publication number: 20230295454
Abstract: A method of restoring a material surface utilizes a first composition (referred to herein as Composition A) and a second composition (referred to herein as Composition B). Methodologies guide application of Composition A and optionally Composition B to enact various restoration advantages to existing or new material surfaces. Composition A may be first applied to a material surface to remove surface contaminants and lift stains. During the described methodology, a user must wait a predetermined amount of time for Composition A to permeate the material surface. Optionally, Composition B may be subsequently applied to bond voids and damages areas of the material surface, or to add a new surface altogether above the original surface. A user may wait a predetermined amount of time for Composition B to cure.

  • Publication number: 20230273516
Abstract: Vacuum-integrated photoresist-less methods and apparatuses for forming metal hardmasks can provide sub-30 nm patterning resolution. A metal-containing (e.g., metal salt or organometallic compound) film that is sensitive to a patterning agent is deposited on a semiconductor substrate. The metal-containing film is then patterned directly (i.e., without the use of a photoresist) by exposure to the patterning agent in a vacuum ambient to form the metal mask. For example, the metal-containing film is photosensitive and the patterning is conducted using sub-30 nm wavelength optical lithography, such as EUV lithography.

  • Patent number: 11720636
Abstract: A user selects a data source, and a computer displays a data visualization in a data visualization user interface according to the data source. The data visualization includes visual data marks representing data from the data source. The user selects a subset of the visual data marks. In response, the computer displays a view data window having a summary of the selected data marks. The computer obtains a data model encoding the data source as a tree of logical tables. The computer identifies aggregate measures corresponding to the selected data marks, where each aggregate measure is aggregated from logical tables of the data model. The computer displays each aggregate measure in the view data window. The computer also displays, in the view data window, one or more level of detail calculations referenced in the selected subset of visual data marks.

  • Patent number: 11718396
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to systems and methods for deploying an outboard rotor blade of proprotor pylon to act as an extended lifting surface. Blade control actuators may provide primary rotor flight control as well as providing fold linkage actuation when fold locks are disengaged. During cruise flight, the blade control actuator may provide feathering inputs to the extended rotor blade, wherein the amplitude and frequency of feathering inputs are tuned to mitigate undesirable wing and fuselage dynamic modes thereby enhancing aircraft stability. The deployed rotor blades also improve the total lifting area of the aircraft, which may increase aircraft range and efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20230240542
Abstract: A method of monitoring a patient's foot forms a thermogram of the sole of at least one foot of the patient, and determines whether the thermogram presents at least one of a plurality of prescribed patterns. The method also compares the thermogram against a prior thermogram of the same foot, and produces output information indicating the emergence of an ulcer on a given portion on the at least one foot as a function of 1) whether the thermogram is determined to present the at least one pattern, and 2) the comparison with the prior thermogram, which shows non-ulcerated tissue at the given location.

  • Patent number: 11704319
Abstract: A computing device receives user selection of a data source. The computing device receives a user input to specify a level of detail (LOD) expression, which includes a first keyword, a SORT keyword, and an analytic expression. In response to the user input, the computing device identifies one or more data fields from the data source. The device translates the LOD expression into one or more executable database queries referencing the identified data fields. The computing device executes the queries to retrieve data from the data source. The computing device generates and displays a data visualization using the retrieved data.

  • Publication number: 20230222793
Abstract: In some embodiments, the system is directed to an autonomous inspection system for electrical grid components. In some embodiments, the system collects electrical grid component data using an autonomous drone and then transmits the inspection data to one or more computers. In some embodiments, the system includes artificial intelligence that analysis the data and identifies electrical grid components defects and provides a model highlighting the defects to a user. In some embodiments, the system enables a user to train the artificial intelligence by providing feedback for models where defects or components are not properly identified.

  • Publication number: 20230205792
Abstract: A computing device generates and displays a data visualization in a data visualization user interface. The data visualization includes a plurality of visual data marks representing data from a data source. The computing device detects a first user input to select a visual data mark of the plurality of visual data marks. In response to detecting the first user input, the computing device identifies a first aggregated data value, for the visual data mark, corresponding to a first data field in the data source. The computing device retrieves a first disaggregated set of data rows corresponding to the first aggregated data value, from a first table, in the data source, containing the first data field. The computing device displays, in the data visualization user interface, a plurality of data rows from the first disaggregated set of data rows.

  • Publication number: 20230195513
Abstract: In one embodiment, an operating system of a computing system determines, by an application instance manager of the operating system, that a first instance corresponding to a first application is to be activated according to an instance database managed by the operating system, where the first application includes several application components, including the first instance and a presenter. The application instance manager invokes the first instance and the presenter, the presenter being managed by the first instance. The operating system determines that the presenter is configured to present data obtained by a data provider, the data provider being one of several application components of a second application. The data provider accesses data from a data store and populates a dataset defined by the second application. The presenter of the first application generates a user interface to present the data from the dataset defined by the second application.
